Apologies guys, forgot to link the OP. Looks like someone got it tho. Yeah it all sounds like a stretch, but still interesting.

As outlandish as some of the article states there might be hidden truths in there.

As outlandish as some of the article

From the article about MS:
It’s slated to be the most powerful out of all the next gen consoles about 4 to 6 times more powerful than Wii U and 2 to 3 times more powerful than Playstation Omni.

It is always curious to me the decisions on the hardware for these kinda things.

Copy and paste here:

"– Sony is near the middle end part of their Project Orbis, their next generation PS4. It will not be called Playstation 4, teams have started to call the final name as Omni. Omni will reflect their new hardware and content delivery philosophy. Omni will be “very capable” of doing modern day graphics compared to a Direct X 11 level of technology like Unreal Engine 4 and Frostbite 2. Compared to Wii U, it is better, but not the biggest leap in the world according to developer friends of mine. The key is the Omniviewer, a thin, lite and slick head mounted autosteroptic display that can track the users head and presents a 360 image view with semi transparent AMOLED screens. This can turn any TV into a 3D TV, as well as add extra augmented reality information outside of the TV screen. One application from an entertainment perspective seeing movies in 2k, 4k or IMAX resolutions as their original size where you have to move your head to look at the full picture being displayed. Can also synch with the Vita. The new controllers whether it’s the Duo-Moves or the Classic DuoShock will have pulse sensors in the grips for biofeedback gameplay. Plans are a Basic Unit with 160 gigs and just the system with controller at $350-$399 and one with the Omniviewer and a pack-in game for $450-$499. Aims are for a September 2013 launch.

– Omni is also part of their philosophy with the new OmniCloud, the new version of Gaikai [Gaitai Spelling Error Fixed]. This service will not only cloud stream PS1, PS2 and select PS3 games to Playstation Certified devices but will also allow every digital and retail purchase to have access to a copy on the cloud. Basically, you buy one game, you can use it on any Plyastation device. Direct hardware Backwards Compatibility will be available by a $70 – $99 dongle that is plugged into the Omni that contains a PS3 on a chip with Cell to run games.

– Known first party games in development for Playstation Omni are: Next Gen Uncharted, Next Gen Siren, The Boydguard, Wipeout Omni, Bump In the Night, Killzone 4, Gran Turismo Prologue, Next Gen Media Molecule, Omni Fitness"

Well...rumours are rumours but one thing is true...Next Gen consoles must have something different talking about features and controllers/peripherals at least to impress me because "graphics are not going to be that impressive". Why? Because we can see on PC what we cannot see on consoles right now (more resolution, textures, DX11 and FPS/performance) and the future will be the same thing.

The quality of the games will be better or should be better. Graphically speaking and about the innovation side (better AI for once...game-play with not that much mechanised movements and more accurate/realistic movements -that has to do with character modelling too-, level design, etc...developers should make better games overall despite the platform without excuse)

gt6 is "amar-confirmed" to be on the ps4 and it's quite obvious there will be a prologue first (I mean why not, from a company's perspective).

Why not? Because it's a big middle finger to your fans and that's why nobody else does it. Why do PD have to be different? I will be very, very annoyed if we wait 4 years for a GT5 sequel and then get a prologue first. It's just a backwards step as far as I'm concerned.

Not to mention if GT5 Prologue is anything to go by, a GT6 Prologue won't even be a true representation of the full game. I'm not going to give a penny to PD for a large demo filled with features that may or may not be in GT6.

I just hate the idea of it in general. Imagine it in other genres.

GTA V: Prologue with a small area 1/6 the size of GTA IV, 10 cars and 20 missions.
Tekken: Prologue with 10 characters and 3 areas
Mario: Prologue with one world
Metal Gear Solid 5: Prologue: One small area, limited weapons and features

Nobody would accept those games so Why people accept GT games which take you backwards in terms of content I don't know. Free demos are one thing, glorifed demos masquerading as full paid games another.

I thought the same exact thing. Even Kaz, in one of his interviews mentioned GT5 would be completely different from prologue. And I have to admit, some of the features in prologue is far better than the final game.

If there's a GT6 prologue, I would start to have some doubts on the final product.

I would also be very disappointed with a Prologue on PS4 given the potential for a properly fixed GT5 (as GT6) on PS3. At least the previous Prologues were cut-price (perhaps not quite enough).

I don't think these rumours hold much water at this point, but let's see.

Releasing a GT6P on PS4 against a fixed, wonderful GT6 on PS3 using the big audience and installed base would be extremely stupid imho.

Forza (Plymouth) Horizon.

(Dodge) Omni.

Coincidence? I think not.

I personally don't believe the rumors to be true, but you never know..

At this point I'm done questioning PD's erratic motives and reasoning.

If they want to release a Prologue first, so be it. Hopefully there won't be a 18-24 month gap between the Prologue and the full game like with GT5P and GT5. I wouldn't mind a Prologue at PS4's launch in 2013, and a full game release in 2014. By no means is that preferred, but what am I going to do about it? I'll just race on the PC in the meantime.

Mind as well be done questioning about what PD does or does not, but I would love to have the full version of GT6 though. If its the launch title for PS4, than okay its perfect, just hope it won't take to long for the full version to come out like GT5. Hope GT6 will be easy to develop on the PS4 (Omni), and not like the PS3.

The thing is what happens when the next Xbox is released around the same time as the next PS, Turn 10 are not going to deliver a prologue, they're going to come out with a fully featured next gen game. For racing/driving game fans that would be a huge swing towards the Xbox when people decide which to buy. That's where I lay most of my hope they won't do a prologue, because they can't afford to. I mean imagine the respective shows, Turn 10 go balls out and show a complete, advanced game for launch and then PD come along and say hey, here is our stripped down, big demo for Gran Turismo 6, coming in 18 months! It won't wash. I hope.

You are right about that one that's for sure, but still why does it say "GT" prologue without the "6"? I hope PD and Kaz are thinking real hard this time and make a full version of GT6 instead, but I still don't want to believe there will be a "prologue"... >_> Why do one when the other games are making full versions. Just do a regular demo like everyone else...

You guys....

GT5:Prologue sold 5.3 million copies. thats right 5.3 million copies..
Sony/PD would be crazy stupid not to release a GT6: Prologue on PS4 launch.

Reasons?

1. Eyecandy to showoff new hardware.
2. If there is a system seller for Sony, its GT.

Yeah, people would complain and whine etc.. but it would push sales no doubt.
For us the users is not optimal, but from a business point of view it is.

Of course the ideal would be that if you buy prologue, they give you a discount when the full game comes out. But yeah, I think GT6: Prologue is very likely.

So your saying if Turn 10 release a full forza 5 you think people will be happy with a prologue with gt6?

Which is exactly why I wouldn't waste money on it. I don't care about their precious sales before the real game is even out. Cut the crap and just show me the full GT6 and maybe then I'll pay you.

First of all I really don't think another prologue would sell that well after GT5. I don't mean that in terms of what I think of it's quality but merely that it was a fully formed HD PS3 GT game. PS4 isn't going to be as big a jump in terms of tech so any GT game on PS4 isn't going to look THAT much better. Why is a consumer going to spend money on new hardware and a prologue game with much less content when they can just play GT5? They didn't have that with the GT5:P, that was the first HD GT retail game and a huge step over GT4, visually. A GT6:P wouldn't have that benefit. Also remember GT5:P was released over a year after the console launched, we're talking about launching a console with a prologue here. It won't wash.

Secondly a full game would sell more. PD will have had more time developing for PS4 than pretty much any other studio, there is no excuse not to have a full game ready to go from the get go. It doesn't have to be a launch title but you can show off the new hardware with a tech demo and release it six months later with a larger install base.

I just can't see people flocking to buy a GT6:P on the PS4 the same way they did GT5:P on the PS3. Especially as I say if the competition (not just Forza) is ready with full experiences.

I really hope the article above is false and whoever wrote it just came up with a GT prologue game because that's what they expect.

There are benefits, namely mass beta testing. PD apparently made no use of this with GT5P though, that's the bigger concern to me.

I just don't believe a prologue is necessary, there's way too much content in GT5 that will go directly to GT6. Assuming PD has been working hard over the last 2 years there should be LOTS of additional content saved on hard drives, and building the game can't possibly take more than 3 years. It would be pointless to release a game which holds back content that we already know exists... just release a fairly good and well tested game, release lots of updates and (limited) DLC, then just repackage it in a year as Spec II.... seems to be PD's specialty.

I think you guys should all calm down. The Prologue is obviously for GT7.

Kaz said a long time ago that GT6 was based on the GT5 operating system and it was just a matter of building new apps. One, of course, being the gps toyota 86 data logging app which they said would be released in 2013.

That GT academy winner saw parts of the game a long time ago. It had so many tracks that his hat fell off. What exactly was he looking at – a yet to be released devkit – or a PS3?

They just shipped the new platform devkit not too long ago.

Of course they are working on a prologue. Gran Turismo 7 Prologue. They have to build a new engine for the new gpu/cpu/hardware for the next generation of Gran Turismo. When they get it working they will release it to as a prologue to hold us over for the (probably really delayed) release of GT7 – which will probably be disappointing to many people just like GT5.

So then we will be able look forward to the much improved release of GT8 on the PS4, just like we are looking forward to the release of a much improved GT6 on the PS3

I agree he is vague about a lot of what he says, but there is no ambiguity here.

And again Ordoñez?

Based on what both have said we cant draw any conclusions about what is to come and considering the lack of communication from pd we can only assume.

Well I will agree to disagree with you, but I am not sure that I have ever seen Kaz lie. He did say GT6 was based on GT5.

Think what you want.

I just can’t wait to have my hat knocked off!

I didnt say he lied more failed to deliver to an extent.

Im sure he wanted gt5 to knock our,hat off but he didnt deliver doesnt mean he lied he just couldnt deliver this time around.

I still say that there is no point in trying to state things as fact until we get an announcment.

The mention of Wipeout Omni makes me think the article is based on old info or that this has nothing to do with the now closed Studio Liverpool game - how could it be?

I've never bought a Gran Turismo Prologue game. I don't intend to either. If everything PD did was properly managed and implemented for the Gran Turismo series, I don't think the Forza series would be remotely as successful as it has been.

I feel that decisions such as developing these GT Prologue games are a contributing factor to this.
