I had my socks rocked a few months ago when I went to collect a pre order, upon collection and invading my file they seen I had pre ordered and purchased the GT5 deluxe edition, they then asked would I like to pre order GT6? I went, Would I ever! I couldn't get the money out of my pocket fast enough, about 2 months later and sick of waiting for my pre order, I decided to google search it, well.... here we are, I shifted my GT6 pre order to black ops 2, any additional packs were to be added for free/ cost to the store, so I am expecting to get the hardened edition/ care package thing for free, if not I know where the store manager lives so I will go around their house and set their pets on fire,

I'm hopeful that PD is keeping a gigantic secret and it will come out next year, but yeah...I'm hopeful that the doors on an armored car will pop open and accidentally drop a bag of money right at the end of my driveway too.
Realistically, it'll probably be on the PS4. If anything PD is working on a Vita game, which is where all of GT6's standard cars will come from.
GT5 took 5 years to make on the PS3, and the PS4 will have much better graphics, which is what PD spends 99% of their time working on. So...5 years for PS3 graphics, maybe 8 for PS4 graphics. That's 2020 or thereabouts, assuming they start now.
I think 2020 is a genuinely realistic estimate.

I wonder if theyll call it the PS4, it kinda sounds unnatural, they should make the shell carbon fiber and give it hood pins for access to the internals and put gauges on the top of it and give it some cool name like a sports car

2014 seems most likely. If it was going to be a PS3 game and was already announced then next year would be possible but that isn't the case so 2014 as a PS4 game seems most likely to me. Even if the PS4 does launch holiday 2013 I don't see it being a launch title. Not unless they give us the **** end of the stick with a prologue again.

I reckon Gran Turismo 6 will launch in Q4 2013 - Q2 2014.

I think it's entirely possible for GT6 to be a launch title November/December 2013 on PS4. With Developments Kits floating around and PD undoubtedly having the upper hand with a head-start with Sony's engineers, they could easily be half way into building the game.
Much of the "future-proofed" content is there, hopefully with a lot more having been created over the last 2 years and over the next year. I think Sony is going to go for it and start PS4 production very soon after E3 and make sure there is no shortage of systems shipped around the world for launch.
I am almost certain that if Gran Turismo is on store shelves or bundled with it, it would draw at least 1 mil. people to make the decision to make the leap. Will it EVERYTHING we have hoped for in GT5, no, but we're now in 2012 and online updates are sure to come, plus we will likely be able to expect GT7 on PS4 as well which will hopefully be just about perfect.. 2016-2017.
