What was Seb saying?

Nothing special, he gives his feeling about GT6 (on Drving GT Force) for the first french TV while he was playing on Autumn Ring in first person view (without cockpit).

journalist : is the driving accurate ?
loeb : Huuum yes we quickly found his sensations, this is what is good in modern games and especially in Gran Turismo, the feeling of driving is very realistic in terms of trajectory notions, control of car.
Despite the fact that I don't play often, I'm generally not bad at these games because indeed I find pretty realistical sensations, and it can be helpful for me in order to work some circuits, at least to learn it.
journalist : Do you really learn the circuit with this ?
Loeb : I had learnt Le Mans with this before participate to 24H Le Mans and my first free sessions, I don't remember on wich game but it was Gran Turismo.

On graphics :
"Yeah the level of graphics is really impressive"

Journalist : I see you overtake everyone ! (Loeb was already first at the end of first lap)
Loeb : "Yeah but they're very passive, the (AI) opponents don't look fast"

HAHA even Seb thinks the AI is slow

You seem to be insinuating that because he's a great rally driver, he'd also be a great driver in a video game. Am I correct?
Not entirely, but sure. I mean, I've seen Sabine Schmitz fail pretty badly (for her standards) on Nordschleife.
There's this...

And there are videos/interviews of other racers having a go at GT games that are quick right off the bat, whether they've played them often or not. Then, there's...

Any favorite racing series?

I have no set favorite. If it has wheels and goes fast, I'll watch it.

That sounds like all of us here at MT. How about a certain driver?

Well, that depends on the series. For Formula 1, it has to be Ayrton Senna. In WRC, it's Sebastien Loeb. He's a great friend of mine -- a really good guy. We hang out quite often.
I mean, that might not mean anything, but it does show that Ayrton Senna IS his favorite driver :D. It's not like Loeb hasn't tried playing GT before (remember I didn't exactly say that he should definitely be able to translate his racing abilities into a simulator even though using simulators is the norm for racers, if not just to learn a new track).

There's

But then, there's this too.
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPzH13D_rtcDtJZNoLQ5ti3pjQVj5KZi8

There was Tanner Foust showing how to drift in GT5 Prologue and knowing that GT taught him the braking points of particular tracks. Then there's Tiff Needell giving GT4 a whirl to see if the representation of oversteer, understeer and FF/FR drivetrain cars felt like they should feel. Then, again with GT5, FM4 and Dirt where he wasn't crashing all around like a "normal" person would (GT5 beat out FM4 except for the sound category :\ lol).

I'm just saying.

Logic : Mode arcade, on easy ;)
That isn't logic, that is just hope.
Logic is that every piece of gameplay we've seen thus far showing off the AI has been completely too slow. To think that Kaz would settle for GT6 having that un-competitive of AI that's slower than Even GT5 is illogical. Why not stick with GT5's AI and update it for a while (like they did with GT5) and then release the kraken with this new AI we've been hearing about?

Loeb's TERRIBLE!

Good video showing off crash effects. I've noticed before that the HUD shakes along with the car. Is that how it is in GT5? It's not like that in this video though.

I guess it was just this old video from GTP (Jordan?), but I could've sworn I saw it in others. I checked my youtube history and I was wrong. Ah well.

Edit -
I actually would prefer the shaking HUD (if it isn't an anomaly) if I still used it. I rarely use Standard cars, but I think I might have to with GT6. The improved physics, immersion (and tuning hopefully) are the deciding factors.

Wow, Kaz's english just after 3 minutes in that vid is very good. I mean, he does only say like 3 or 4 words, but I can barely hear the Japanese accent. I bet he'd be perfectly fine speaking English in interviews and presentations but he just feels more comfortable speaking Japanese.

Loeb's TERRIBLE!

Not sure if you're serious... He was great in that GT4 online video. Only thing is he was cutting the kerbs, but his driving was fantastic. Unless there's some video of him playing GT5 that I'm missing...

He's settled with uncompetitive AI for over a decade, to think that he would settle for mediocre AI in GT6 without any evidence to suggest otherwise is the only logical conclusion given his track record.

Because Demos are there to demonstrate the new game. These demonstrations influence whether people will buy the game or not. As such, it is in Polyphony Digital's best interest to advertise improved AI, if they have it. Otherwise people who were left unsatisfied with the shortcomings in GT5 will not see a reason to invest their money in GT6.

Yeah, that's me playing the demo at the Silverstone GT6 reveal event. The camera was mounted on the steering wheel (T500RS) and was subject to vibrations from the force feedback mechanism. The HUD did not move.

That's what a lot of people think as well.

And of course, I wasn't serious about Loeb's driving. I wasn't pretending that the video of the Audi rally car was him. ;)

No, what I was stating is that for a man who "Doesn't play video games, he thinks the AI is slow." Mearly pointing out the fact that even a superstar that never plays GT has the same complaint I do.:ouch: That does not boast well for AI in GT6...

Sigh....not looking good for any kind of decent offline mode again....Won't be buying this until it's in the bargin bin.

Hasn't it been said already that the AI was set to easy? I'm not making claims here but if its been confirmed that they are on easy in these demos, then why is it a big deal that they are slow?

That video makes the physics look like a joke. Does the KTM really stick to the road as if though lateral forces and grip don't affect it?
Thinking about it, the GT3 Z4 video looked the same.

Yes it does. I guess you're talking about the 2 corners after the first ones where the left tyres of the car go in the air for some seconds. My guess is, because the road is in the opposite angle of the car, and that the car is not a plastic and it is a solid cars with lots of weight, yes the car has to stick on the road. Should it fly? Lol

should it fly? :( k Your guess about those corners is not right.
I'm talking about him being mid corner @50-60mph(assuming speed is shown in k/ph) and switching directions at will. Going from the inside to the outside and back to the inside of the corner.

Really can't wait to see some new screenshots. Videos ok, but I prefer screens to keep going back to.

Assumed, yes. Confirmed, no.

Could've sworn someone here at one of the events (unsure if it was Paris games week or somewhere else) had said that the setting was on easy. Could been wrong but even so, I seriously doubt any game on these showfloors have their demos set on anything higher then easy so I'm at loss on why anyone expected more.
