I think at this point you are not going to sway him. He's pretty much fully convinced that this game will fail no matter what happens, might as well not even waste your time trying to.
Excatly. That's pretty much the reason why I have him on my ignore list, rather not waste time with those like him who just believes or wants to see the game fail. Honestly...

Standards cars obviously do not have the same detail. But they said they have improved it. Other than that the graphics are pretty amazing on GT5 already. They fixed smoke, shadows issues and probably other graphics glitches.

They said they improved some of the standards, and we're still yet to see what that actually entails. It could be anything from a complete makeover to just making the paint shinier.

And the graphics on GT5 can be amazing with a field of premium cars on a premium track. But take a field of standards to Trial Mountain, and you might as well be on a PS2.

I heard they where just getting updated textures...

But I bet a few will get upgraded... As we have seen with the Alpine and GT40....

Also Countach :P

Full premium conversions are a slightly different thing though. Those are now real premium cars, with interiors and everything else that entails.

But we're still going to be left with an unknown number of standard cars, although they're apparently not going to be called that. And while some will apparently receive improvements, it's completely unknown what those improvements will be and how many of the standards will even receive this treatment.

The one thing that was clear was that not all standard cars are receiving improvements. I wouldn't expect very major improvements in that case, as that would create a three tiered car system. Standard, Standard+ and Premium, that'd go down really well. I would rather expect the very obvious flaws to be fixed on the worst of the standards to bring them up to "normal" standard level. Presumably to stem the tide of "omg look at this!" screenshots that are bound to appear after GT6s release. We saw plenty of those after GT5s release. There was definitely a few cars that were outliers and just looked awful.

All standards will look very good, we got the Lotus who is a standard in the trailer
How do we know it is a Standard car and not one that is upgraded to primium?

That is kind of what I was thinking/hoping

and the Jaguar XFR
and the Bugatti Veyron

and the Spyker!

I was hoping that we'd get the Premium version of the Spyker C8 before GT5 released, because it's purrty. I'll be really disappointed if it doesn't happen this time around with GT6.

But we'll get upgraded standards 👍

I'm really hoping the Spyker receives an interior as weird as that sounds if someone were to read this out of context lol.

I rarely drive the Standard cars in GT5, because they don't have interiors modeled. The Spyker was the very first car (long before GT5's release) that I thought of before any other that I wanted to drive for it's beauty and Speed!!!! It'll just be disappointing if it doesn't get a fully detailed model this time around.

this one?

Of course it's Premium, I don't see anything that indicates something else.

EDIT:

The Alpine is a different model (well, same model, but different year) and the GT40 road version wasn't in GT5, they're NOT upgraded.

If you remember they didn't show any Standards in GT5 trailers either apart from one blurry shot on Daytona, most likely out of shame. I doubt Standards will be improved at all.

The Lotus is a premium. How do I know? It has an interior, clearly visible from the outside. No contours, just the full thing. Kaz said standards won't have interiors, out of which I understand not even the black outlines as seen in GT5.

So there...
