As I've said earlier, the Lunar Rover and the Moon are really only one car and one track. How much development time is going to be saved by omitting one spartan exploration vehicle, one plain, rather featureless landscape, two space suits and a few cones?

You'd be surprised, believe you me.

At least they seem to let you zoom in closer this time...

It does look a lot closer than the previous "You must stay atleast 50 feet away from this car but you'll still have to spend an hour cleaning it up" warning.

I mean, why do they do that?? It's not like we haven't noticed the jaggies on the cars, are they really trying to hide the low quality like this? :grumpy:
 
Yeah. It has nothing to do with a driving simulator. They have NASA training programs and simulators for that.

They don't have NASA training programs and simulators for the lunar rover. That thing hasn't been used in a NASA mission for 40 years. And even if they did have a training program for it, I think you'd have to be an astronaut to be able to attend.

I wish, it's just find it a big a coincidence... It was sarcastically.

If my brain is co-operating properly with me I think I read somewhere that it took a PD employee 6 (I'm pretty sure it said 6 MONTHS but that's probably unlikely) weeks to fully finish a highly detailed Premium car for GT5 from start to finish. Let's say this one takes half that time, and another few weeks for the moon, and a couple of months (atleast) for the licensing, still atleast 3 months down the drain...

The coloring is a lot from what the pictures shows.
 
That's your opinion. Sennheiser are the standard headphones used in radio and recording studios. Panasonic and Samsung have the highest rated displays. Just because SONY jacks their prices up by a few hundred dollars for a similarly equipped unit does not mean it's the best.
Sony is the audio/video standard. In terms of proffesional movie quality applications. My dad got me onto Sony products and I have never had issues. You can google all day and see Sony products on the high end of things are at on near the top in almost every electronic category. Even their new xperia phones are rated as top of the line. In terms of playstations, I had 2 ps2's that lasted years without issue before one had "disc read error" after 5 years of gaming dvds cds etc. My brother bought a ps3 3 years ago, still going strong. My little brothers g.f is still on her 60gb 'fat' while he went through 3 xb360's that each died about a half-1 year after refurbishing or replacement. "Don't watch dvd's on my xbox, use the ps3" he would say. It still didn't help.

Posting GIFs seems to be the 'in thing' with the 'cool kids' these days.

I remember the days we had discussions with words.

The website does indeed state that it takes six months to create each car:

"In recent years, CAD data of actual cars are often provided to Gran Turismo thanks to our strong partnerships with automotive manufacturers and as a consequence, the time to understand the design of the car has been drastically reduced. The same cannot be said for the development time: a model will still take 6 months to create, and that is because the time and costs saved in the research phase are re-distributed into modelling to further improve the quality of the final product."

Let's say creating all the assets, physics and sound (what little of it) for the mission took three months to build, which was probably the job of two or three modellers, a programmer and a sound engineer. That time isn't going to go towards other things people have been clamouring about, like the AI, as they're unaffected by this little side project these people have embarked on. Also, three months really is only enough time for one modeller to make half a car, and it's not like the entire studio ground to a halt for those three months in order to create the mission. Hence I think creating this entire portion of the game had very little impact on the development on the rest.

Also I really don't think it takes Polyphony that long to actually obtain the licensing for the Lunar Rover. I have a little image in my head of Kaz phoning up NASA asking if his team can add one to the game and the representative going, "Um, I'll get back to you on that," then calling back two months later with an "Uh, okay." :lol:
 
Sweet, except for the last two ones... Have a look at the wheelarches (especially the rear one) on this MR2! *faints*

I'm not too worried about the model visuals of the MR2 (I own one). I just hope they fixed the non turbo model. In GT4 and 5 it has a turbo engine lid and says Twin cam turbo on the side. They did change the boot lid badges to be correct.
