Personally I'd never opt for getting rid of cars. I'd imagine that having your favourite car or the car that you own which isn't in any other game removed would suck.
I agree, however keeping cars 2 generations behind is unacceptable unless they fully model the outsides of the cars and simplify the cockpits.
I'm perfectly fine with standards on the PS3, the more cars the better but to a certain extent.

The website does indeed state that it takes six months to create each car:
6 months as in january-july, no I don't believe it. 6 months as in ~1000 man hours, that I will believe.

The Colt in particular is superb. Look closely and you'll realise that this isn't just a smoothening exercise; Polyphony have actually remodelled entire sections of the car. The bumpers, the grille, the wheelarches, the entire side window sections, the door sills, parts of the wheels, even the wipers, they've all been redone to Premium standards. This does raise an interesting question, though...

There are two ways this could end up. The first, more ominous one is that not only are the reworked cars never to be touched again (Kaz did say that they are never going to upgrade all Standards to Premiums, but that these Standard cars are also going to be kept in GT7 (because why scrap something we worked on after just one game?). The other, more promising one is that they are grafting parts of the Premium model that they are in the process of making onto the Standards.

Haha, there's probably alot of paperwork and back and forth propositions and agreements and what not that are needed to get the license instead of a simple phone call... :P

Jesus, I forgot that paperwork and agreements actually existed. :ouch:

Anyway, given the short time it takes to resolve the issues you state, why ignore them and carry on with things that have less impact on the game for the actual users? People want better sounds, not resolved. People want all cars to be premium, nowhere near resolved. People want exterior styling, untill this very day, unresolved. It's the small things that make a game great, not the big additions...

The thing about Kaz (or at least what I can glean about his personality from his games and his interviews) is that the small things are as important to him as the big ones, and if they're not done perfectly they're not going into the game. I'm absolutely, positively sure he wants better sounds, or more substantial customisation options, or all cars to be premium, or better AI. But he seems to be unswerving with his high standards he subjects himself to, and he's probably going to continue working on them until he and his team nails it, and only then are they going to put them in. And until then he's always going to struggle to conform to public pressure and do things that are, to his standards, half-hearted. I admit, as character flaws go, it's a big one; I also know that right now, as GT6 is nearly upon us, it seems like the absolute worst thing. But the one good thing about Kaz is that he seems to never give up, even under all that pressure. And I feel that, if time and his health allow him, one day he will finally achieve his goal of simulating reality.

If they didn't do this whole moon thing in the first place no-one would've cared OR even thought about it anyway... Literally. I'm pretty sure it hasn't even been mentioned on this website, online, OR at the PD office (before the idea came up, obviously)...

But that's exactly why it's so endearing to some people: that it's never even been thought of before, let alone done before!

Yeah, divide that that into 8 hours a day, approximately 6 months...

It really is 6 months. Due to the high amount polygons, and extremely high details. Multiple groups working on cars at the same time seems plausible. Right? Or is GTPlanet's news section lying?

Don't you dare mess with the El Camino, that and the LFA NE are arguably the best machines in the game. No Nissan can match their sheer awesomeness and by far the El Camino is one of the better additions into the ever growing list of machines.

Lol, or else?

As for you sir, I will aswer you tomorrow. I'm going to sleep, goodnight! 1 thing, I enjoy discussing things with you.👍

El Camino> Veyron, proven fact. ;)

Oh, bounkazz, if you're so sure american cars are so bad and worthless, what has the Netherlands done for cars?

I know it's a light hearted debate but that's not a valid form of argument to be fair. And Spyker.

Besides, nationalism always cracks me up.

Spyker, Donkervoort, and that 3 wheel motorcycle thing they had on Top Gear a few years back.

Personally, nothing in my opinion. I;m more of a Japanese-car type of guy. But these guys seem to think differently.

Jaguar MkII 1.5 tons and nothing on the road could touch it for the price and size.

Spyker, Donkervoort, and that 3 wheel motorcycle thing they had on Top Gear a few years back.

Pwned.

Edit: And uh, I never mentioned Veyron > El Camino...

Sometimes it could even be more than eight hours a day. Polyphony employees have been known to spend entire nights in the office, only going home to shower and freshen up.

I think it really is one person working on a single car. It's kinda difficult coordinating different people when it comes to working on one car, because each person models a different way.

So 3 manufacturers (2 of which are actually mentionable, 1 of those 2 being severely overpriced) compared to GM, Ford, Dodge, etc...I know which has had more influence on racing.

For the record I didn't want to "pwn" anyone, and no offence intended ildd.

Me either, still laughed my ass off though. Still do when I think of it...

You do know the manufactueres have nothing to do with the country, right? But with the person who designed and/or started the whole brand/firm?

But I know which one I'd prefer (hint: it's the one with the propellers). :P

Also, one of them tried to save Saab, the other tried to prevent them from doing so, so I know which one gets my brownie points, too.

Driven a few before, not over priced, quality at it finest, that's what you pay for... Made in Holland, expensive labor here.

Give up the 'my country's better than your country' arguments already. Agree to disagree, whatever.

They buy our old american cars :D
