GT7 Circuit Experience Overly Difficult....

Today I returned to CE to finish some undone Challenges.
Ended up with revisiting some familiar Tracks and under the newly introduced Physics I literally managed to smash some Gold Times which I previously thought already was my best I could achieve.
Personally all I can say that on average my lap times did improve roughly 1Second.
That’s huge in my opinion.
On the other side, it just made me realize how much easier it is now to hustle the Cars around the Circuits.
Especially Dragon Trail in the Jag and Barcelona in the Lambo stood out…
I‘m still undecided though whether to appreciate the Changes or not.
I can’t deny the fact that the driving Model reminds me a lot how GTS felt, just with a lot more understeer involved.
But maybe that’s what it feels like irl too, no idea, I’m just a Casual Pleb enjoying the Ride 😅

I've golded most ce's with a controller, and I can happily say: the leap from silver to gold on some of these require you to take bs lines which kinda ruins the fun and makes it feel less of an experience.

different lines to the ghost?

Yesterday I golded my final circuit experience in ps5 controller.
Just keep trying, praticing the sectors. If you feel you are being too slow in some part, leave the full lap and go pratice that sector. When you gold a sector, dont rush to the next, stay in that sector and gold it again 4 ou 5 times to pratice and memorize. Adjust the settings (tcs, brake, balance, binary...), that really helps a lot.
And dont give up, even if gold seems unbeatable. I, like many, felt discouraged when I saw the gold timer in Nurburgring Nord. -20s to gtsport with the exact same car. I almost collapsed to get that gold in gtsport and now they're and asking me to take 20s off that? And in the same car? How can? The truth is gt7 and gtsport are different. The M6 is way faster in gt7 than in gtsport. And the controls are more agile. So you will be going faster in gt7 by default.
Now go get those golds and good luck.

Could you point out a specific example of a required “bs line”? Can’t say I recall any instances of that - the demo ghost rarely pushes track limits and they’re always well under the gold times.

When game developers make the challenges so extremely hard, they are not simulating real life. In real life you can't crash ten times before you achieve the goal -- you'd be dead or broke before you got it done. These extreme challenges are video game stuff, not simulations of real life competitive driving.

High Speed Ring was a bit weird

wow thought Tokyo Expressway East Clockwise would be an easy CE given the mileage I’ve put in!! Sector 2 I’m stuck on bronze 9 tenths away from gold and god only knows where those tenths are gonna come from I’m at the absolute limit, all assists off studied demo following demo ghost just can’t replicate its pace through turn 3
It’s difficult to find the line where you keep the accelerator down - no lifting. … I used the bridge support as a marker - TCS0 (I put it to TCS1 for the hairpin on the full lap) to the right and keep your foot down!!

Hang on - that’s Turn 4. Turn 3 brake early-ish and shift down to #5 … coast round the first turn then foot down when possible. In all CE early braking (hence fast out of the corners) are almost always the key points. Sometimes it feels unintuitive to brake earlier - it invariably it works

thanks for the tips, maybe tomorrow I’ll put them to use! I’ve left Asia for the time being, working my way through Europe, lake maggiore paying 800k is a bit insulting it’s got 5 sectors and an above average difficulty gold lap attack time, got there in the end though

All gold for CE ! nothing really difficult (for me it was the 650S on Mount panorama)
Keep calm, retry next days after .. and you will be able to catch all ;-)

So I did 6:40:500 on my own in Nurburgring. Then after watching Igor Fraga guide I did 6:37:500 (traction control 0 and break balance 3 to rear) and I am happy that I am done with that.

My last one CE to finish is Barcelona. I tried today 3rd sector and I still just can't gold it. I hate this sector and this Lambo.

So far my list of tougher ones includes: Laguna Seca, Lago Maggiore, Nurburging, Sardegna - Road Track, Autopolis, High Speed Ring (last sector especially tough to master), Mount Panorama, Tokyo (most of them). Well, that's about half of the ones I did so far.

There were also some easier ones like Nurburgring GP circuit. Post 1.13 patch I beat the 3rd sector and full lap by a second.

I still have 10 tracks to go.

These challenges aren't there to simulate anything. They're trying to force you to dig deep and be as good as you can be on each track. If you got gold on your first attempt at each track you'll have learned nothing.

I thought the High Speed Ring lines were a bit unconventional riding out right by the barriers.

I tried LeMans today - a track I've raced literally hundreds of times with "Nostalgia" cars in GTS.
Thought I knew it quite well.
One of my favourite cars is the Peugeot 908 Gr.1 so I was pleased to see them paired for this.

Took about 10 goes to get bronze on sector 1, and for the final sector my first attempt was 7 seconds away from bronze! 🤣
Given up for the day......

I suspect they brake too hard - too long and therefore too far down. The car can take extremely high cornering speeds, you just have to have the courage and reduce the brake pressure in good time.

Same here. Always liked the track, and used the Nostalgia race to do my daily workout in GTS. Getting nearing half a million everyday added up quick.
Anyway, I've never been any good at Gr1 type cars. Their abilities are beyond mine. I'm always trying to drive them like a "normal" car, which doesn't work.

When I tried this one, I was caught off by how the car felt. It's like a race horse on crack. Fast, and twitchy as hell.

Same experience here, the Pug is intimidating. However, with the 1.13 improved grip, it is much better. But last sector remains tough. First few corners are full throttle, I couldn't believe it. Watch the demo, it helps.

"These challenges aren't there to simulate anything."

That is true. That's pretty much what I said. But I didn't buy the game to learn anything. I bought it to enjoy the cars and tracks and the simulation of real world competitive driving. A "real driving simulator" in other words.

Happily, the challenges don't unlock anything I want. I have a few race cars that sound good to me. I have the tracks. That's all I want. I don't bother with the parts of the game that are, to me, just pointless clutter.

I'll be pleased if Polyphony Digital makes it possible for me to dump all the road cars the trip through the tedious "menu" section cluttered my garage with.

Can't you already dispose of the ones you don't want to keep ? (In exchange for nothing as of now)
