GT7 Circuit Experience Overly Difficult....

im not great at autopolis, took me a few attempts to find the braking point for t1 and a few issues in sector 3... all in not to bad though. I finished Catalunya recently... between that and le mans i had a rough week.
Sector 3 is a tricky one. Did you manage to get gold on Autopolis? I don't have you as a friend i think so i couldn't tell.
It was fairly difficult. This one had some interesting lines. The last sequence of turns was pretty difficult to get right.
Yes, sector three was very hard. Especially in combination with a full lap attempt. What is you lap time?
Absolutely. Have all sectors golded, but still not the full lap. Same with Maggiore. Haven't tried it after patch though.
You have to time every sector very well with little mistakes. Full lap was the hardest for me. Nailed sector 1, failed in sector 2. Nailed sector 2, failed sector 3... etc
Yep. This and Laguna were extremely difficult. Haven't even attempted Nordschleife yet.
100%. Both Laguna and Autopolis are the hardest ones, yet. I also didn't started with the Nordschleife.

Had a go at the big boy nurburgring full circuit experience earlier in the m6 after getting all golds in the sectors...

0.7 away from gold on my first try, on a pad with no tcs...

Wasn't a great lap either, much more time to be found as in the last quarter of the lap I tip toed as I didn't want to go off and mess the whole lap up...

Manage to get gold on Circuit de la Sarthe. Sector 5 was the hardest one not surprisingly, but managed to get a 0:36,254. The full lap was a 3:16,929.

Btw, @xMAXIx79. You are SO fast in that last sector...

Suzuka Full Lap was a LOT easier to gold than tackling Sector 3 only. I managed to gold the full lap in 2 tries while I had to retry 10 times in sector 3.

I've noticed it's expected of us to be at full throttle through most of the fast corners. Luckily, the 908 has good grip but the last 2 chicanes offer challenge, especially the last due to the humongous red coloured sausage kerb.

Thank you.. yes this sector time was post patch to see how big the changes were, the full round is still pre patch. Since I'm currently blocked, there are no times coming from this account... but I'm already on the road with my second account.

It’s only fitting to save Nordschleife for last and I’m also now officially done with Circuit Experience.

Even with the new physics, I didn’t find it to exactly be a walk in the park to get gold. Still took me multiple tries and quite a bit of concentration. But I think it all comes down to how much experience you have with the Nordschleife prior to going in. There was a post in here saying Jimmy Broadbent got gold on his first try, but he drives this track a lot in other sims.

I'm having major problems with sector 2 on Mt. Panorama, the ghost car is somehow able to turn tighter at higher speeds than I am. In the first long right hander the ghost is maintaining a much higher speed even with a higher entry speed. Did the last patch break it or something?

Don't think so. I just tried it and I was able to gain on the ghost there and beat my pre-patch time on my first completed run. The car definitely feels different than before (less rotation on throttle), but not slower.

In the penultimate chicane in fourth gear and the last chicane in third gear. As you say, the sausage must of course be avoided.

Otherwise it goes with an unexpectedly high speed.

Are you running the Brake Balance heavily to the rear? That helps massively on this car (as it does on most FR & 4WD cars) and helps turn in whilst trail braking -
Could not agree more. Bang it all the way to -5 and you will Gold easily. Interlagos is a favourite of mine and fundamentally a rewarding flowing track to nail.

It's a pretty tricky corner to get right. Turning in too early or too late means you'll be losing speed and you also have to manage the throttle. I believe the demo also gets real close to the barriers on the left and right through there.

Bathurst is killing me as well. Got gold on all the sectors - 2 being hardest by far - but am 0.35s off on the full lap after what feels like a lot of effort. The last corner before the back straight is proper make-or-break and it's a bugger to get right. Sickening to get through the twisty stuff in good shape and then screw that up.

Does feel like the McLaren suffers from understeer and I was also wondering if that was a consequence of the patch. Think I'm looking for excuses tho and can't complain after getting gold at Le Mans without too much trouble earlier. Also did Laguna Seca, Suzuka and a couple of Tokyo Expressways today. Plenty of credits for when the F1 GTR drops in the LCD :)

Yep, that kerb is horrendous. Have you managed to gold this one?

Yesterday, I got Gold for the Le mans circuit. But there was something unusual.....

I went a bit on the outside of the right hand turn before the first chicane that's a bit uphill. I got a .500 second penalty which is unusual as there are some parts of the track where You go a bit wide of the white markings on the left side of the track & You're disqualified.

So with this time penalty, I crossed the part where the penalty marker/line is to deduct the time. But instead of getting the entire .500 deducted, there was some penalty time still remaining (.387). At this point, I still was ahead of my best time's ghost car. Funnily, when I crossed the finish line, my overall time was behind my best time.

Usually, time penalties come up in races but getting in CE was unusual. I think this only happens at this track & nowhere else?

Don't shoot me please, but do the nanny assists like asm/counter steering generally make you faster. Vague question I know, but wondered what consensus is.

Answer may be depends on car, circuit, driving style/ability. But as high level rule, wondered what outlook is.

I want to get these out the way ASAP and get back to racing :)

I've completed tskubka so far and just falling short on gold brands hatch. Been toggling tcs on and off and for this track/car (Radical), I'm actually quicker with tcs off ... just have to be mindful on flooring it coming out of some turns. Although can get on throttle quicker with tcs, noticeable lag/slow down when it kicks in...

At times, depending on the car or track, assists make a positive difference. Sometimes even changing the brake balance or TC makes it good.

But even at times, switching them off makes a positive difference.

Usually, in the wet or if the car is powerful I keep the TC at 2. But doing R&D helps if stuck to get gold.

Basically, I think you can say that assistants such as TCS, ASM and countersteering helpers tend to make a good, really good driver slower. Drivers who are not so good/precise in handling the vehicles will benefit more from the assistants. Furthermore, I am convinced that ALL CE can be brought to gold with all these assistants. If you don't manage to do that, you unfortunately still have to work fundamentally on your way of driving and continue to improve. Even if some people don't like it. These tasks can all be solved with a little practice (they were the same before 1.13) but you don't get anything for free... you have to do something for it... and it has to be "right".

It took me 45 minutes to get Sector 1 of Suzuka gold, but though frustrating at times, it really teaches you to master the track. At a point I just moved on to the other sectors, got gold in all quickly, including the full lap and then went back and finally nailed sector 1.

Personally, I think circuit experience is the perfect balance of difficult but achievable if you persist. The two tracks I can't nail are Bathurst and Nordshliffe but in time, maybe 😁

Yeah they're challenging but in good way. Determined to keep at them.

I have a long way to go in terms of improvement, barely raced in 10 years.

Like I say, in the Radical on brands hatch, was quicker with just abs full, rather than abs and tcs1.

Only .200 off full lap, after golding sectors. so need to keep practicing. Plenty of room for improvement.

It happens on one of the Willow Springs circuits too - if you go too far left to take the first corner to the right (full lap) … and I am fairly sure somewhere else too (Goodwood? Brands Hatch?) but it was a while ago and I can’t remember 🙄
