GT7 Circuit Experience Overly Difficult....

Laguna Seca is still hard, but today I made it to get gold!
Viper was and it is easy to drive, effort and training are only important.
And turning TCS off. That's how I'm golding sectors and full laps that I couldn't gold before.
(that's not entirely true, I also bought a Nacon revolution pro controller 3 with better triggers than the classic DS4).

The lambo at Catalunya is still a piece of garbage though :banghead:

I done Catalunya last week, i was going to revisit and see if the lambo was any better after the update.. but your comments say it all

Lucky you. I'm stuck with silver last sector and silver lap. Yesterday I almost threw the new controller at the tv.

You should definitely take a break from the game then...I did the CE there a while ago and it wasn't asoooo hard as I feared...maybe it's harder now as the car might turn less well and you corner differently have to drive.

Not sure how the wrx was pre patch but now on Tokyo expressway circuit experience central both versions it’s understeer city
Before the patch it was even more understeer city. I would shift the brake balance a bit to the rear. Before the patch I had it all the way or one notch before. I'm not sure what the best setting is now.

Golded all circuits with exception of rally stages (not sure will bother with them as don't enjoy rally in gt with this weird gravity/jump physics). Defenitly one of most enjoyable aspect of singleplayer and happy to collect all this money.
Hardest for me:
  • Le mans before patch (not sure how is now)
  • Deep forest before patch (same story)
  • Autopolis
  • Laguna
  • Nordschleife
  • Trial Mountain
  • Mount Panorama

Well just set a goal for each track and sector of it, that's why I just practice in the time trial section to be prepared for the CE and license tests and exams. And you have to prioritize and plan your steps on how you would master each track using the car you have.

snc

Le Mans now much easier (sector 5 anyway) after the patch. I think Autopolis (I must have done 100+ tries for gold) is not the handling but the very unintuitive lines you need to take - especially the last sector - for Gold.

unique corners with only slight braking + I never learnt this track before

And Trial Mountain was just getting used to the car … it’s probably still a dog after the patch

Well my cousin bought gt7 a week ago, he gets frustrated too, see he doesn't have as much patience as I do. I tell him practice and dedication is the key.

Mount Panaroma is still a kick in the butt.
This is probably due to the fact that the 650 was already a very balanced and stable vehicle before the patch... I found it rather difficult not to steer too early, too hard in curves, since the car did almost everything it was "told" to do. has been able to implement. And the walls are damn close there :( !

I can very well imagine that he now suffers a little too much from understeer...

I cross my fingers for you!

I don't know if it changed with the patch but TCS 1 seems a bit too intrusive. I got sector 2, when i turned it down to 0, by three thousandths of a second. Now sector 3 is another exercise itself. It seems to be mainly about managing the weight transfer and setting up each corner, so you don't end up sliding into the barriers.

S3 has indeed been the hardest part of the whole route, at least for me.

It helped me to completely detach the braking points from what the game is showing. As soon as S3 starts on the top of the mountain, I start to decelerate very carefully shortly afterwards, let the car roll a bit and again use very little brake force to let the car drive down stably on the brake, always with a mix of accelerator AND brake to get in to keep the car "live" in a certain way. A little slower was usually faster for me here as the car tends to spin out the rear when braking AND steering downhill.

Definitely a hell of a lot easier than when I last tried CE (3 weeks ago).

In the space of an hour, finally finished the Nordschleife, Bathurst and Daytona since it didn’t seem too bad (it wasn’t).

Sarthe, Nord and Bathurst were the 3 I really wanted, so pretty pleased.

Finished all the Golds today. :)

Automatic, TCS 1 (Except Laguna Seca, Manual, TCS 0).

Unfortunately I left Le Mans for last - I did all the sectors before the patch and I left the entire lap to do on Saturday morning as a "Special Event"... But with the patch I decided to do it today and I was disappointed. Too easy... :indiff:

Overall I really enjoyed the challenges. It helps a lot to understand the tracks.

Just golded the lap. For that section, I braked early to a lower speed to set it up, so I could stay on the throttle for the turn and maintain a relatively straight braking line as I was getting into the tighter section. The more speed I carried into that first section, the tougher it was to not lose it in the later section.

Also I would recommend TCS at 0 for this. I had the brake balance at +2 forwards.

Do NOT use a countersteering assistant or ASM, you can mitigate everything that can cause you real problems with TCS... TCS+1 is almost mandatory for most drivers and helps a lot without taking up a lot of time. TCS+2 or higher costs noticeably speed, but is also a larger safety net. Try this!

Move the BB to at least +2, I even prefer +4, when riding MT +5 is even better.
Leave ABS on default!

Brake a little earlier, but not too hard and release the brake in good time, i.e. let the car glide/roll more!
Good advice, countersteering def off!, but i couldn't get gold with TCS, even on 1 it just hold you back to much, i would say learn to drive without it on the nordschelife, there a somany corners and follw-ups were the TCS eats your exit speeds, i made a fair amount of mistakes on my lap tho and missed the apex a couple of times, def not the most beautiful lap but is was enough!,
i'm on DS4 by the way.
Maby this will help you, I hope you'll get it!

Nordschleife CE DS4

I should read properly, you already got it, good jiob
:lol::lol:

Before the patch, TCS1 was significantly more helpful than it is now.
Now with a little bit of care, the track goes very well without TCS and assistants.

You still have the countersteering assistant on, this also slows you down ;)

I completed a whole bunch of tracks today, but for me. The Autopolis was a difficult one. I'm not sure why. Anyone else struggled with this track?
im not great at autopolis, took me a few attempts to find the braking point for t1 and a few issues in sector 3... all in not to bad though. I finished Catalunya recently... between that and le mans i had a rough week.

It was fairly difficult. This one had some interesting lines. The last sequence of turns was pretty difficult to get right.

Today, tried the Le Mans circuit. I managed to Gold all the sectors till S4 or 5 which is the last bit of the track having 2 chicanes before the finish line. I was amazed how far I was from attaining a Gold time. I'm still stuck on Bronze.

I think I read some time earlier tackling the 2 chicanes was quite tricky. The 908 car is amazing with RM tires though.

Absolutely. Have all sectors golded, but still not the full lap. Same with Maggiore. Haven't tried it after patch though.

Yep. This and Laguna were extremely difficult. Haven't even attempted Nordschleife yet.

Last night I did Spa. Golded sectors and lap at first try.

It's not even funny how unequal the difficulty of these tracks is...

Some of them are definitely easier than others, but I was surprised how slow I was on certain tracks before doing the circuit experience. Maggiore in particular.
