I'm more concerned that it's clear from the video, and the screenshot here, that you weren't headed for the apex at all.

That's just silly. Where else would I be going? Of course I was headed for the apex. I wasn't taking the optimal line, because I was inside, but the apex was certainly something I indented on passing as close to as possible.

I get the other things you said, and they're valid whether I agree with them or not. But your statement, which I quoted above, makes no sense at all.

Again, I'm not necessarily saying that what I did was right, but let's stick to things that make sense.

The only thing I'd say is that you have to be able to stop not just make the apex, the line dictates you should be slower as it's not the optimal line for speed but it is for position.

The guy on the outside put to much faith in you stopping which was his problem, you on the other hand could of guessed a car positionally and physically in front of you may turn in, deliberately, clumsily or just not aware of how close you were.

Racing incident that all of us can learn from.

Sometimes let the move stick (you are him) some time you back out of it (if you are you)

I think personally it was a lack of awareness and forcing a move that was probably on the cusp without full compliance from the other guy.

But the main thing here is we press the x button, mentally reset and go again with a little more caution and a lot more decisiveness and clarity on the moves we intend to make and the position we are putting our cars in.

Keeping my fingers crossed that shaving 0.5s off my qualy time starts me a bit more to the front when I race a bit later... The bottom 6 have been nuts/ dirty/ savages in the few races I did yesterday! 🤞🤞🤞

Tried the Veyron a few more times in practice and I still would probably do better in a shopping cart 🤣 I did well with the G70 at Laguna Seca a couple of weeks ago and the track layouts are similar with uphill + downhill corners so feeling comfortable driving it here as well.

Just so you know my races have all been sweaty and starting from 12th with an 800 in the world time (you've improved on mine now) and the pole sitter was A+ Laporty....and a few other of the 90k + Aliens...

There is a huge sweat on for GTWS now it's moved from exhibition. People are coming out and racing way more than they usually do for that DR

Laporty was losing DR in 2nd place in some of the races I saw today....that is how tight it is at the moment for the top guys and A and above lobbies

Does bump drafting at SSRX race A end the CRB?
Famine might know, but I would have thought it was a higher tolerance race for drafting just by the way it's set up.

Edit.

This is absolutely bloody ridiculous, I mean farcical in that it goes from competitive racing everyone has max S ratings to a a thirsty pit of poor drivers who smash in a lap and then your back doors.

The way the daily races swing and what a difference a day makes is immense.

I'm not whining about a bit of door banging here I'm talking about how poor the racing is if you get a Pokémon lobby. I've dished out enough advice on avoiding these moves/people but even it boils my pee quite a bit.

Its a free for all, lines don't matter, braking points don't matter, penalties don't matter.

Eclipse and thirsty wanna be A+ for World Series mentality is in effect and it's desperate and sweaty as....TikTok

That’d be ideal (and obvious perhaps) but the last few times we had it one did it lose it to bumping, hence the question.

I think in the the Le Man and Dayton races they mark it down....I can see why but don't really understand why they do.

But this race the whole point of it is to keep up and make one final blast at the corner. Other wise the best strategy is to sit as far back as can? Not sure that's the idea of the race.

It's about duplicity, help someone help you to help you 🤣

Well good luck then. As you can see, l'm quite a bit off pace right now, so I think I'll try the actual races on my practice account.

There is a lot of people trying to improve for the GTWS now, and it at least for me has skewed some of the decision making. Just bear that in mind.

Edit: not mine own decision making, I don't care about the competitions. I'll never win them!

Hey, I woke up 2 hours ago, I'm ready to roll!! What does bump drafting mean? Hitting other cars while drifting? I'll have to look up the term and see what it means in terms of racing.

Sorry again @Famine for the big hit in Daily B just now. Completely missed my braking point for the hairpin after going though that Lancer - complete **** show from me and I sincerely apologise.

You actually raced with Famine? I don't know what happened in your race @AdxRE but I'm sure you guys can get it resolved soon. I try to keep the peace with my opponents on the track by staying back from the higher-level drivers. You never know what kind of devious tricks they might have up their sleeves.

So watching @Tidgney s latest video with the GT-One beat the meta.

A few things became apparent:

1. The cars don't move a lot. Why? Because they can go fast where they are.

2. People weren't caught out up the inside if the move was close enough or they were aware enough

* top tip if some one is lining up the inside go wider and accelerate earlier with better drive. Its not as cute as a switcheroo but its still the same just doesn't have the nice replays.

* top tip remember the corner sequences, if you loose a bit in the right but inside if the left, make that pay.

Conversely if you are inside and outside at spa you can hold it, but most of the times no....

* if you are full brakes at the apex, you got it wrong. That's not trail braking it's panic breaking.

Feel free to hit him again, but harder. I've been doing Master Super Licence since 7.35pm, and prior to that I was tidying up the kitchen after we'd just had tea.

If it's A+, it certainly isn't me!

You're not that far off mate, don't be too harsh on yourself!

I just had one of my BEST RACES in a long time! Didn't win, didn't make the podium BUT the racing was as close and as clean as you can get without crashing!

Started in P5 and got overtaken by a good driver using slipstream. Was still close to him after but he unfortunately was taken out by someone, who I then overtook myself and held him off until he was out of the picture.

Back in P5 and within 2 seconds of the leader, the victim from the previous lap took out the offender from behind me I overtook him due to his slow exit (obviously) from the corner. Lap 4 I caught up to P3, whilst setting the fastest lap of the race and almost bagged a podium as we exited side-by-side on the hard left before the finish line.

Unfortunately, the G70 doesn't have the best top speed so he finished ahead but it was very fun and exciting and I was just 1.8s behind the winner in P4.

Yey!

I'd like to have some races with you, but the way I'm going that may not be until 2026, xD. I'm a slow learner in advanced racing TBH. I just have to be myself.

Good to know that wasn’t you! That guy did have “Famine” and “GTPlanet” in his display name but anyways…

I could extract no pace from the McLaren Gr.4 whatsoever. Wonder what PD did to the McLaren but it felt even worse than the Laguna Seca Daily a few weeks ago.

Yeah, he's pretending to be me for some reason, and is usually found in a lilac meta car with LGBTQ+ slogans and symbols, trolling streamers and WT drivers - all of whom know that the real me is not quick enough to be A+.

It lacks the mid pull it used to have. Before it would pull in the mid range with the short shifting. They have rendered that pointless now with the weight increase and BoP.

Edit: I'm extremely surprised the lancer is competitive. This is a car 2 races (dailies) that had no top end, like the M4 you did t use 5/6

There seems to be a slight skew to 4wd cars in the bop

Well, I'm actually quite soft on myself...😇

I did two races B on my practice account today, and it was a mixed bag. Got a half decent qualifying time in (in fact one tenth better than the one on my main account), started from pole, missed the the first turn (ah, some things never change...) and lost the lead, and after that had a nervous but rather uneventful race, P2 in the end. Next race, I started from P2 (some faster guys in that lobby), and tried to restore some SR this time. So I let the others driver pass, drove calmly behind the pack, didn't touch a single opponent, never left the track, only passed two guys who went off track, and finished P14.

And my SR went down. What?

So, here's my question: Do I lose SR nowadays when I slow down to let the other drivers pass? I have no other idea what might have been the reason.
