I don't think I can do much better than this:

So you tell me - was I dirty here, or was there a legitimate hole and was he in the wrong? If you're like me, you'll have a different opinion based on which car the camera is from. Personally, I think I was perfectly fine, but I understand his frustration. However, binning me was uncalled for. At least he got a 3 second penalty so he didn't win, but he did get second place, which should have been mine (IMO). Oddly enough, I feel just fine after this race - not ticked off or anything.
HmmIf he had braked earlier, you would have sailed off the track
The contact was your fault, you braked way too late
When mistakes are made, waiting is not a bad idea
I rarely post, no one responded to this
👍🏻
If I’m not mistaken, the track map is oriented correctly; IE if you are heading west and see the sun, it’s afternoon
It's absurd. There have been some great Race A combos that never get repeated, but for some strange reason this absolutely terrible race keeps getting repeated.Come on, seriously? SSXR... After great Race A last week something like this? Why? Just curious: Anybody enjoy that kind of race? 🤨
Why would you say that when anyone can see the replay and note the speed at the apex?If he had braked earlier, you would have sailed off the track
There's also 2 oval tracks we haven't even used in Dailies in GT7 at all! At one point Gr.3 at BMB was a staple race in GTS, and that was actually fun because it actually required skill to navigate 2 of the 3 corners instead of being 100% luck like SSRX and Daytona. It's absurd. Do you think he'd avoided it with VR? My big problem with VR is the complete lack of peripheral vision. In real life I'm used to racing karts with no mirrors, so in this sort of situation I very aware of anyone appearing in the corner of my eye as I turn in. With VR that's totally missing, not sure I'd have seen Grumpy coming down my inside. I do watch the radar carefully, but there's a limit to how much attention I can take away from track in front of me to watch for last minute dives.Hmm
Now i see that as a flat screener with very little spatial awareness..or care factor, who should have left room to go two wide around that corner. The funny thing is that guy braked himself into being parallel with grumpy meaning he knew he was there.
Propably, but with the show of "skill" I would say: unlikely.Do you think he'd avoided it with VR?
This actually sounds like VR might be good for you. You should consider giving it a try, especially when you have a generous return policy. My eye vision is blurry sometimes, so I have to use glasses if it gets bad. I have to stand real close to my TV to see the screen.
Nothing has changed. The same thing has always been true- the higher a lobby, the better and more consistent drivers get, generally resulting in more predictable and hence cleaner races. At DR-B/C lobbies, most drivers are not dirty, they just drive very differently from each other, resulting in chaos.so my question is: how is driver behaviour in higher rated lobbies? Has it improved a bit? Should I dive into it again?
Can you record a replay and show us?Does anyone have a tip on how I can master this, everytime I got a pole time and started first, all the races passed me in like 30 seconds.

You can adjust how far the headset is from your face? I'm sat well back from the wheel, not too close. I think part of what I'm missing is using the mirrors properly, as I posted above, I'm used to racing without them in a kart. So I'm mainly using the close range radar to keep an eye on what's happening around me, perhaps I need to train the corner of my eye to watch the mirrors instead.Yeah.
I will see this coming in the side views 99% of the time. Most cars have decent mirrors, except the lambo. Horizontal cig packs on chopsticks those things are…
The rest are fine. Just adjust the seat so you get a little bit of the mirrors, then clock, and track the movement. Thing with peripheral vision is you have to use it. Its easy to focus only on the goal ahead keeping the eyes tight. The trick is to relax the vision a bit and be aware of the light/dark changes, then look. Also, just like irl, keeping a constant rotation around the mirrors and generally always being aware is necessary. Turn the head an inch and cut the eyes. Rinse, repeat. Granted im an east coast mid atlantic us person sooo i might be a bit more practiced with these habits as we are a wee bit on the aggressive side 🙄
Also. How far do you have the headset off of your face? I do keep mine kinda close. Are you way up on the wheel?
You might strongly disagree with me too, but I think that the pass was not on and it was easily avoidable by you.
@GrumpyOldMan It's one of those about perspective. From their view you disappeared due to the penalty and they were free to take the corner. From yours you managed to keep the speed enough to be alongside into the corner. (Probably due to better braking technique). They simply weren't aware of you and you surprised them when they turned in. That's on them. Thankfully the game punished them for their petulance.
It's a completely fine move, don't worry about it.
There's something to be said though for the rise in self appointed vigilante stewards that punt you off in retaliation when they feel they've been wronged, happens a lot when people turn into you as if you're not there so they get bumped wide. Always watch the replay first.
Here's the honest truth about that incident. At the time, during the race, I thought we were closer to side-by-side than we were. If I had glanced at the radar, I might have thought differently, but I was working on making sure I got the right speed for the corner, and I was honestly shocked that there was contact. The Ferrari is at 100% fault. He also got pissed with his own lack of awareness and took it out on you.
Yes! Top right. Smushed against the face to full scuba mask. I prefer one click off of smushed as its similar to most helmets ive worn.You can adjust how far the headset is from your face? My only rebut would be this was the last lap. Baring any shenanigans or mistakes whoever comes out of that turn ahead wins the race.My thoughts on Grumpys incident;
Other cars fault, but in Grumpys position I wouldn't have made the move because it was pretty likely that a penalised car on the inside line isn't going to end well when paired with a faster car on the outside line.
Whilst the other car 'caused' the crash, self preservation is an important part of racing and incidents like these are prime examples of how you can save yourself from others incidents by positioning yourself better.
It's better to let the other car past than it is to risk a high speed crash on the apex of a tight corner. In any other sim, that's a double DNF. Only GT7 lets that get to revenge punt territory.
No, I can't show my liveries when they force us to use rental cars.Come on, seriously? SSXR... After great Race A last week something like this? Why? Just curious: Anybody enjoy that kind of race? 🤨
Same bro, same! Watch my replay, Lap 1 and Lap 5 tell you everything you need to know! ⚰️ 🤣 Also, very nice time dude, I am not comfy with Veyron so looking at other options 😅Man I do think some people make or maintain DR A through actual brute force cage fighting driving styles...
Going in to these short Daily Bs sometimes feels like I've joined Fight Club!
You're not supposed to talk about that. Don't you know rule #1?!!?Man I do think some people make or maintain DR A through actual brute force cage fighting driving styles...

Welcome back!Hi everyone!
I hope you all are doing marvellously fine. Haven't been around here much for quite some time (almost a year, I think), because I had quit daily races out of frustration about the in-race behaviour of some guys (and for some other reasons).
But last week PD presented the unresistable Race A combo with the Mazda touring car, so I gave it a try. I did five races (on my practice account, to protect my ratings on my main account (boy, did I feel rusty)). The outcome wasn't very satisfying, as I got rear-ended in four of these races (that's 80%, right? 😆). But: I raced in DR B / SR B-C lobbies, so my question is: how is driver behaviour in higher rated lobbies? Has it improved a bit? Should I dive into it again? What do you guys think?
