I think after shutting down the GT Sport servers it would be time to make a fourth race available, Race D.

Another important point would be to update races every three or four days, not just every week.

We can barely fill 3 races now, how are we supposed to fill 4? The grids will be A+ to D all day long then, if they even fill up at all.

I'm terrible at this race B, it feels like I'm using a lefthanded controller or something! I obviously need to practice more as I really like the track in the other direction.

Race A is good fun - I think there's a win in that one for me, still very slippery but at least is predictable compared to other weeks.

Yet to try race C, I've never liked the track & I normally get battered in the C races, it's on my to do list for tomorrow though.

Combine ps4 and ps5, it doesn't take that long to load the track on ps4. Let the ps4 players have less warm-up time, not that many people use that feature nor does it have any benefit at all.

Improve GT7 sport mode to the point it's at least on par with GT Sport, get the rest to come over...
Increase payouts for sport mode 5 to 10 fold. A victory on race C should be on par with other 30 minute races in single player. This week you get 59K for a victory on race C, Tokyo, Sarthe and Sardegna payout 550K for a victory.

Deep Forest was never meant to be reversed. I'm enjoying it but it's super tricky

My brother and I are both D/S rated drivers and we have queued up multiple times together and are never in the same daily race. I do not think lack of driver's is an issue at least when i play.

Payouts in Sports Mode isn't an easy balance, and while they may adjust it a bit in the future, it seems unlikely to me that it will get a huge lift.

Take, for example, a pretty decent player who is a solid DR A driver.
Some races they may end up close to pole in a race predominantly filled with DR A and DR B players.
The next race they may find themselves at the back of the pack because they have been loaded into a race full of DR A+ drivers.

It's the same person, doing the same race, performing the same way, but they may get first or they may get last in back-to-back races.
What payout do you suggest they get for their efforts?
Should last in a top split race get more than first in a second split race?

A flat rate for winning a Sport mode race would encourage people to tank their DR rating.
A sliding rate for winning a Sport Mode race would end up having a huge payout for winning top split and pittance for last a newbie DR E race.
Would that be fair?

As I say, I don't think it's a easy balance to get right if you start to significantly increase Sport mode payouts.

Some good youtuvr videos put there that break it down well. Worth a look if struggling a bit. Gears suggested different to those 'recommended' in the car.

Yeah, in the WRX staying in 3rd rather than dropping to 2nd seems to gain me a few tenths

yeah theres a few turns they recommend staying in 3rd rather than 2nd, plus use of handbrake once or twice...

Me too. I spent a well over an hour now trying to set a time and I’m 3 or 4 tenths off what I need to get a top half start. Aside from that I find it really unenjoyable fighting the understeer with this reverse configuration. Trial mountain last week was great as I felt like you could power out of corners nicely, I set a top 3 starting time and had really good pace; but this is just too awkward for me. Plus I can’t get that hairpin right at all. My sector 1 time is destroying my lap. Moved on to race c and the qualifying was in pitch black which I didn’t really have the energy for after a day at work lol.

It's not, really. Any issues they have with that would have easy fixes anyway, turn off region locking in high DR, like someone said - or enable cross platform play. Null problem all in all.

i'm glad i'm not the only one who does not enjoy driving the beetle!

for me it requires a totally different mindset and technique that i have to constantly learn/unlearn when using other cars. i'm not even bothered by how it looks - i am convinced, however, the shape/weight distribution ends up making it bulletproof to the haphazard raising/lowering of weight. and since they refuse to actually, you know, test drive the cars they're tuning... it might be this way for awhile.

I weirdly kind of like it better in reverse for some reason. :)

JK lol. I'm sure it's fine I'm just too lazy to learn the track. The first time I hit the wall because I couldn't see in the tunnel I said nope. Lol

I'm starting to love Bathurst!

Barely a day since I dropped into DR B, I find myself alone in a full DR A lobby.
By keeping it clean and consistent (every lap between 2.04.00 and 2.04.50) I manage to capitalise on accidents in front of me, including a snarl-up at Skyline on Lap 5 which left me alone out in front.

I'm back in DR A baby!

Is it just me or are the lights meant to be on in Sport mode? Anytime I race there or others with tunnels in single player it's brightly lit even in daytime, in sport mode it's always super dim or just dark. Have they forgot to turn the lights on or what.

The moment I see a track reveres I refuse to play, they all stink other than Gardens which works for some odd reason.

Re. Bathurst, by the third lap qualifying it's day time.

Goodness me, first win in this game came last night at Bathurst (sorry, Mount Panorama 🙂)! Wasn’t happy with my quali time at all, 2:04.3 and had at least 0.500 on that but bottled it typically at last corner. Anyway, finally wanted to get into race and imagine my shock being on freaking pole! Man, did I try my best to stay calm. I was B/S but there was mix of A’s, B’s and even D’s. Apart from 2 laps when nerves for better of me, I drove pretty clean and consistent, always around 2.5-4 in front. There was some fight behind between German and Spaniard so that helped surely. Whew, I wondered if it will ever come but it did, in 50th and some attempts.

Did some more Daily Bs at lunch. Couldn't muster a win but I dropped my quali time down from 1:33.26 to 1:33.0X. Maybe that will help but I doubt it; top quali guys are in the 1:32s. I just have to not-screw-up and hope they do.

If your monitor or TV supports HDR it's much better.

I disconnected my elgato just to see what the night time would look like on Bathurst and it was a completely different game. I couldn't see anything in the dark before that. I'm sure it would bee the same for the tunnels but I didn't test that.

I'm not a big fan of Gardens (it needs the right combo) but if we look at it, the sections are basically the same in reverse. There's nothing that suddenly turns sharp in reverse, that's nothing that's really built for one route, all the major turns are sections rather than 'turns' with multiple apexes.

Personally I think Seaside is a blast in reverse or maybe I'm just weird but yeah, the way Gardens is designed kind of means when run reverse, it could have easily been drawn like that instead, it's just toss of a coin that one way is the default.

There should be a completion bonus, clean racing bonus, Q lap bonus, 1-2-3-4-5-X number of races pr day bonus. GT Sport should make me more credits than doing 17 minutes or mindless racing in a Hawk and at least the same as 1 hour of spa racing.

Putting on the broken record on.. they did not play test this game, and if they did they made a piss poor job, and they are so much behind modern development. Credits should be used to activate people in the game and sport is a good example of where they could do exactly that. Lobbies should be dynamic, join Race B and the race starts when the lobby is full (or it reaches a timer) etc..

So much potential wasted in traditional way of doing things it almost hurts..

Each to his own but to me Seaside is terrible, the esses downhill are asinine.

Ive been actually giving a damn about my qualifying for Daily C this time, and immediately got me from DR C to B (due to starting up front etc, altho i was probably upper C already). Noticing that both Beetle and WRX work well (my best time a 04,5 with the WRX), they are similar in pace for me, however the Beetle i can drive way more consistently. Its def the OP car in how easy it is to get working. Seeing WRX's and a GTR in the euro top10, so guess those cars are competitive.
Did notice in races that the Beetle seemed to be influenced less by the dirty air from the car in front, making it easier to follow others then in the WRX.

I did get hella sweaty in this warmer weather today tho hahaha.

Yes, I noticed that - I was trying to work out whether the grip improves too, like it does in the race?

What I also discovered, after running the Jaguar and then the Beetle, is that the Jaguar has much better headlights - they light up much more of the track, making it much easier to see, especially at corners. Strange, given how many lights seem to be fitted to the front of the Beetle.
