In a D/A lobby, some faster guy could have been coming from the back and closed up that gap, it’s definitely possible.

He says he did 1:28 laps, with 3 more laps to go. The fastest lap was 1:26. The guy ran him down in the 3 laps and passed him. There is some math fail in there. Thats what Im trying to say.

It will just shift to another car, sim racing will always, always have a meta, unless they just make all cars drive the exact same. Best bet it to just get over it and race the car that works ok a given week. 👍

I may be wrong but I think in GTS there was a bit more variety in the metas... the Supra was very strong and featured often but not in 3-4 races in a row as meta as the beetle now. And the Beetle in GTS was always good, but rarely outstanding. I think the PD should slowly change some BoP settings.. and PLEASE PD finally give us BB in the races.

It was D/A because we all start at the bottom, right?

I'm C/A now after 8 races - don't know how long progression takes but I won a race and got 3 podiums and finished in the top 6 in all of the 8 races.

After some success I've moved up to dr B lobbies (yay!), wow are there some dirty drivers at this level (boo) - maybe it's because I'm now at the bottom end of B but it's way dirtier than C races, really obvious stuff too like swerving & trying to push you off on the straights! Seriously, just pick your line & race it - you're slowing us both down!

I had the same experience first evening full B.But i did stuck my nose a deeper into B and it went better afterwards.Maybe people fight for their lives when they know C is knocking at the door.

To math fail the logic more... the guy that ran me down didn't even have the Fastest Lap lol - that was P1 and the eventual winner.

1 clean race (I thought it was 2 myself - was surprised not to get the CRB afterwards). I tried to, and mainly did, drive clean - unfortunately you can't always control contact.

also don't forget that GTS was like 4 years old by the time GT7 was released. There were so many tweaks to BoP along the way. By the end, the BoP for Gr.3 was actually very good despite the Supra being meta on several tracks. Gr.4 BoP wasn't as good because of the different drivetrains, but it was pretty decent, and in any class, altering the tire and fuel multipliers would cause new metas to emerge based on their ability to save tires and fuel, even if they weren't the fastest cars in qualifying. I say let's give them some time to sort out the BoP. In the meantime, just race what you like and have fun.

They really seem to care! Trying to drive people off the road is just so odd though!

I have done a number of Daily Races recently with top 5 finishes but haven't moved up to C.

Boring daily races this week, getting fed up with BOP being the only option too. They should scrap race A, always terrible, replace it with something exciting. Imagine an Amuse s2000 at Tokyo race, where tuning is aloud, now that would get my attention

Nothing needs to get your personal attention actually. Race A is always fun for me with A/S rank. Love stock road cars. Why do you need tuning? Can't beat anyone when every car is exactly the same i guess?

There are plenty of possibilities.
In GT Sport, when I would get a full reset to D/E, there were times when I would be starting at the back, and end up winning by 30 seconds.
I'm sure the other people were thinking "What the hell?".

Nothing needs to get your personal attention actually. Race A is always fun for me with A/S rank. Love stock road cars. Why do you need tuning? Can't beat anyone when every car is exactly the same i guess?

You’ll also learn a lot more by adapting to each car, and style of car. Rather than just making everything easier to drive with a tune, or drive similar to your comfort zone.

You’ll get more points in the championship races as you level up, top split in GTS last going off was around 400’ish points for a win if I remember correctly. Not sure if it still goes that high for 7 or not, I haven’t done any yet.

Got race A down to a 1.7 so far, I know I’ve at least another .2-.3 left there, but the penalties are maddening already lol.

Monza is so tough with the new understeer physics. Can’t adjust exit angle at lesmos and parabolica with throttle anymore. Completely dependant on mashing the throttle at just the right moment. It’s a bit clinical and sterile as it is. The necessity to abuse the chicane sausages is unfortunate as well. I’d like them to make us drive the tracks properly.
I might feel different if I could actually set some sort of decent time I’m sure.

WRX or beetle. Beetle’s understeer is too severe for me so I’ve persevered with the WRX.

For those of us who bought GTS at launch, Beetle being the meta is nothing new!
