Race B - These GT3 cars feel a little sluggish round here especially at Lesmo and Ascari.
I feel like I’m at my talent wall at the minute. Fastest I’ve done so far is 1.50.2 and that was in a Mustang. I know I can go faster as ive only done about half hour practic and I was trying a few non meta cars. The issue I’m finding at the minute is every quali lap I do I always make a mistake somewhere. It’s either braking too early for T1 and lose time, bad exit on T2, lose to much speed at lesmo 1, or I have an issue at Parabolica. Just unable to put a lap together. Also i think I’m quite high up in B/S rank and Im struggling to compete with the non meta cars which is really annoying.
As for BOP, I’ve found that they is nearly 3 seconds different between some cars which is just stupid, thought BOP was to equal all the cars?

Race C - love this race with the cars and I like the flow of the track too.
Only issue I found is idiots not knowing they need to brake a little earlier on that first lap. No brake lights so people just decide it ok to brake on the normal markers. Also the tyres are awful on that first lap, have very poor grip.

Man, that SF car is crazy to drive, it always takes some adjusting when you first get back in it. It probably didn’t help that I had just driven the GTi in race A before hand I guess lol. Got the Super Formula down to a 1:22.5, there’s another .1 or .2 in there for me, but I’ll never get the rest of the lap right again even if I do find it. :)

Feels like Daily Race B and C are both two races. Race number one is trying to survive turn 1, race number two is the actual race

OK so I gotta hold my hand up. The confusion over the nitrous/overtake... It was just a better/faster driver. Hard to believe at the time but I raced again tonight and finished had a 2nd placed finish. I got to second early and was not far behind P1 at all; I was pushing as hard as I could but couldn't stick with P1 - in the end they won by 17 seconds and I was ahead of 3rd by 32 seconds.

Thought I was lapping well, but obviously not well enough. My quali time was a 1:25

That’s one of the best parts about online racing, no matter how good you get, there’s always more people ahead to keep chasing. :)

Last race at Bathurst last night 180efef58c131-3fa315B375F96579043.7F0DCD06C091CCF5_message_423242943147592_1653292746670.jpg

My best so far on Monza is a 49.0 in the Jag, which starts me near the front at the moment in B/S. I can get to 166mph on the straight like the WRX in replays i watched.

I can equal that 49.0 in the M6 with about a 48.7 in it with more practice. I haven't tried anything else except the Mclaren F1 and V12 Vantage which are both too slow with me driving.

Damn! Everything comes at you so quickly.
That car is way too fast for me. I'd have no chance at all.

I got my 2nd account from E to B in less than 10 races. Might even been about 6 or 7
First 5 keeps you at E to then start you at 2K DR or did they change that?
It took me 7 races to get from D to B DR after a forced DR reset and only 4 to go from E to S SR.

Grids were small though, no more 20 player grids. It took 5 victories, a 2nd and a 4th place.
The room did fill up better after reaching DR B (was also later) and 3 races later there was already an A+ in the room!

Anyway, SR/DR are working exactly the same as GT Sport, only SR deductions are toned down.

Not sure if this has been asked, but where can we get/buy/grind for those 2 Race C cars? I don't want to rent, I want a custom livery.

Completed 5 Race C's earlier. Enjoyed the races and managed some decent results.

Race 1 started 6th with a 25.2 and got involved in the lap 1 shambles and ended up finishing 7th. Improved my qualifying time to a 24.8 Race 2 started 4th and managed a 2nd place finish, was slightly quicker than the winner but made more mistakes. Race 3 started 4th again and finished 3rd as the Austrian winner just drove off. Can't remember where I started for race 4 but was involved in t1 shambles but not as bad as race 1 but recovered to a 4th place finish. Before race 5 I managed to get my quali time to a 24.1 and started 3rd, got to the front on lap 5 due to others errors forcing them off track, kept a 2.5-3 second lead before making a mistake coming out of the fast left hander at the end of S2 which cost me P1, unfortunately I couldn't close the leader down afterwards so another P2 and still awaiting my first win in sport mode on GT7.

It's a tough choice but I went with Toyota in case they got Kaz to sneak a secret extra HP or two into their engine.
I had the exact same thought. I secretly thought maybe I was getting paranoid. Now at least there’s two of us. Get us a third and now we’ve got ourselves a movement!

This is my first racing game, so I tried sport mode a few weeks back at Monza when it was the Atenza Cup. I managed a podium once but quit sport mode altogether because of how horrible it was. I’ve been patiently waiting for a track that is more suited to my (lack of) skill only to see Monza again. Ghah! I decided to give race C a try just for the hell of it. It was very early so not a lot of people in the queue, so I was racing with some people waaaaay above my grade. In the end there were enough lower level beginners like me, and I was able to finish where I started at P4.

One more try tonight, again started P4 and the competition was more balanced. That first turn is horrible, and I keep forgetting that the tires are cold and don’t hold like they do in time trial! Most of us drifted right on through into the gravel. Anyway, at P8 I just hung back and ran the best laps I could while one by one people slipped off the track or got held up by penalties. I finished the race on the podium again when the guy I was following felt the pressure and made a mistake, allowing me to slip through for a P3 finish. Second for me, and maybe now I’m getting addicted. . .

Edit: I forgot to add my big takeaway from all this: be patient! I may put that on all my license plates. Seems better than “if you can read this you’re too close” anyway.

It would be cool if you could like, use a different car besides Beetle/WRX.... I mean I know technically you can

but its hilarious when I pick a Porsche because I like the way the car feels/drives and get blasted down the straight by like 4 wrx's after I got a better exit from the last corner and still loosing the draft from the car in front....

its kind of the opposite of what I consider fun. Especially since I never once drove the WRX in Sport because I dont like it, and the Beetle's interior almost made me go blind from the sheer ugly.

The Mountain got the better of me last week. I just couldn't make consistent clean laps at all and had zero confidence entering a race. Bathurst in Gr.3 cars might be just beyond my skills. Still good to get some practice in anyway.

On to Monza this week as I don't think I could handle Autopolis in the Super Formula. Plus, I'm not a fan of Autopolis. I went with the Mustang as it was the #3 time when I started qualifying. I went for an hour straight practice session and got a 1:49.0XX with a 1:48.6XX optimal time. I know where to find the time, I just need to make it happen.

That’s the complete opposite of me! I found at bathurst I was consistent and was lapping low 2.03 high 2.02. But Monza I’m so clumsy with. I just can’t find a rhythm to the track, all feels too clinical with having to be so exact at each corner. I don’t think I’ve nailed any turn once!

I can only recommend anyone who doesn't want to drive a Beetle or WRX to test drive the Jaguar. It drives really phenomenal, has more power than WRX and Beetle, as well as good brakes... This is also the key point of the car to be fast.... ATTENTION with mentioned brakes, they tend to lock up quite quickly, if too much Brake pressure increases the braking distance and makes turning into corners difficult or even impossible. Here you have to start in time with the "TrailBrake" and loosen the brake slightly, if you go below 40-50% brake power, add some accelerator, further reduce the brake pressure and let the Jag already with some accelerator but still active "engine brake" Glide around the corners, you can accelerate relatively early on, since the Jag is not "supercharged" it has a very nice and even power delivery. I really like him now.

After only 9 Laps. i got 1.48,771 with an optimum to 1.48,645, but i feel a 1.47,xx are possible for me.

Edit:
One of the things that bothers me most about the Beetle is that this group, i.e. VW is really a shame, because they can do whatever they want. Rather, the Beetle is basically a VGT and not a "real" Gr3 car. This may also apply to others, although as far as I know the basis here is at least halfway as existent as in the game. The beetle, on the other hand, is an overpowered fantasy product, which is why it ranks somewhere in MY popularity with the tomahawk, which I don't really like either.
