This might be complete bull****, irrelevant or both... But... I'm sure the Kudos Prime tracking in element in GTS didn't go online until a few months after release?
Unfortunately the guy(s) who run Kudos have already stated on here that the data they used to create it for GTS just isn't made available by PD for GT7 in the same way and unless they can find a way around that then there's nothing they can do.

I forget the guys name but I'm sure someone can shout it out if you want to go check that.

Otherwise it's down to PD and I'm not confident they want to give us access to more stats, for whatever reason.

Well, nice to pick up an earlybird win, before all the real racers get going

Did a few qualifying laps and managed a 1:28 which put me second, 1st place wasn't as fast as I thought and managed to pass him fairly easily and drove it home with a 10+ second lead. :)

Same! I qualified with a 1:27:XXX and managed a straightforward win - the first corner mayhem has ruined the race for me at least 3 times though.

Recovered to a couple of podiums and 6th (after dropping to 14 IIRC) but people struggle to control the SF19, don't know its limits and so that first corner is just a gauntlet.

Glad I got a win there - tribute it to my well earned gold CE at Autopolis and my repeated runs at S-7 despite Golding it quite some time ago.

Bought myself an SF19 as a treat so I can use my own car this week as I plan to hit the event frequently. Love the Dallara and Autopolis.

Sorry for the n00b question but how come I didn't see my "overtake" gauge in my SF-19?

That, along with the article above, explains why I lost a 21 second lead in one of my earlier races.

Boring daily races this week, getting fed up with BOP being the only option too. They should scrap race A, always terrible, replace it with something exciting. Imagine an Amuse s2000 at Tokyo race, where tuning is aloud, now that would get my attention

Race C is actually a 2 part race. There is the survival aspect of lap 1 with the crowds and cold tires. Then you get to part 2: surviving the track.

Inside kerbs on corners are lethal if you are giving it throttle on them. Found out the hard way. Started p2 in my first race, someone didn't brake into turn 1 and I end up p16 after turn 1, 2.8 seconds behind p15. Claw my way up to p5 and promptly attempt to dodge a ghosted car that was almost up to speed and clipped a curb. Back down to p12. Managed to fight back to p5 at the end. Only made about 3 actual passes. The rest were people wrecking off.

Race 2 I started p2 again, and survived turn 1. Then I was caught in a 3 wide sandwich on the run to turn 2, with a pack on our rear so I couldn't even back out. Both outside cars were fighting for room to stay on track and the chain reaction bouncing ended up with me into p3 and the others all off in a mess. P2 had a penalty and after I passed them p1 ran off track. Smooth sailing from there. Clear air is soo good if you can stay on track.

Not thrilled with the start, but looking back I didn't see anything else I could do but hold it as steady as I could.

Good luck out there all. That track is trying to bite back.
Done 3 race C tonight. The track is the least of my worries. Absolute wreck fest out there. At least 3 drivers manipulating the penalty system to give penalties to anyone who gets close enough. DR reset week for many I suspect.

Been trying different GT3 cars for qualy in Monza and MR cars are at a slight disadvantage to FR. Only did around 5 laps with each car as first I want to find the one I like driving best on the track. So far best times with each are:

  • Beetle/ GTR: 1:49:7
  • WRX: 1:49:9
  • Castrol Supra (Legend): 1:50:1
  • Z4: 1:50:2
  • McLaren F1: 1:50:9
  • 99 NISMO GT500 (Legend): 1:49:5 (!!)

Still want to try a few more and then obviously do a lot more laps as nowhere near the current top with 1:46:X but pleasantly surprised with the old NISMO 🙂

Audi LM is crap and also the Atenza isn't good either, which is weird since it was the best Gr4 car in the previous Daily B in Monza.

Also did 2 races and started 16th in an A lobby and finished 9th and started 7th and finished 4th in B lobby, which is my rating. People get a lot of penalties so be patient and you'll move up without issues 😁

I think I’ve seen a few people say overtake isn’t turned on.

I'm sure it's enabled. I lost a 21 second gap running clean 1:28s. Not the fastest but a 1:27 got me 2nd on the starting grid - I don't know how it was possible. I thought the guy was cheating or something.

Maybe you need to buy it or equip it in the settings if it's already a default inclusion.

I dunno.

Is it just me, or does the penalty zone in Race C at Autopolis seem like the worst possible location they could have picked? Crowds of people vying up for a no-brake corner, with ghosting cars suddenly becoming corporeal again in the midst of it? Just . . . horrible.

And the tire wear after 6 laps, despite what the meter shows? Oy!

But I can’t wait to do it again!

No one used it in Tidgney's video above so I'd say it's not available as people have said. It is very possible someone caught you by that much if there were about 7 or 8 laps remaining, maybe someone who didn't qualify. Without the video it's hard to know what went on. Unless you say they caught you in 3 laps (or less), then something dodgy happened then, even "overtake" wouldn't help that much.

I did some Race A and it's a mess (B/S rating). Turn one is basically people using you as a brake or cornering aid. Saw one guy with 15 seconds worth of penalties by the time he hit the penalty line on lap 2! At least 5 of them are from where he used me to get around turn 2 and put me into a wall.

But saying that once you clear the idiots who can't drive I had some got close and respectful battles with a few racers.

I just rechecked the race details and "Nitrous" is set to "Unrestricted" (also "Kart Usage" is "available"...), but "Nitrous/Overtaking System Usage Time Multiplier" is set to "0x". Which I guess means it's on but also off?
I don’t remember exactly what it was, but in custom races I think you can’t turn BoP on for super formula because of the nitro and the only way to do it is to set nitro at 0x. Maybe because it’s a factory part on these cars? 🤷‍♂️

Yeah it was like 14 seconds in 3 laps. I can't explain it. I was doing 1:28s and had been uncontested in 2nd for most of the race - rook 2nd in the second lap and then was comfortably in 2nd for the next 7 or 8 laps - before this crazy pace 3 laps from the end just shredded me.

D/A Racer at the time - literally went online to Sport Mode first time today.

Fastest lap of the race was a 1:26

Watching some of the Euro streamers do B in the background while I work and it seems some people are trying out some different cars, which is cool. I've seen a Mustang (which was able to pace the Sub on the straights), Vette, Gensis X (who placed 2nd in the race)... mostly the Sub & Bug but at least people are seeming to try other things.

Slight rant, but does anyone else feel like the stats for Sport mode are severely lacking in GT7? I didn't play GT Sport much, but I'm surprised that they only track 1st place finishes as "victories" in GT7, as opposed to podium finishes. Would also be neat if they tracked average starting position versus average final position, among other things.

The penalty system continues to infuriate me at times but that's a rant for another time lol
Definitely severely lacking and it’s such a shame. On gran-turismo.com, in the GT Sport section we had:

1653320487015.png
1653320572051.png

... and now in the GT7 section — nothing resembling the relatively expansive statistics we had previously. The Sport Mode section just has an archive over the past GTWS events and the points there. My Page has one addition which is a very good one and I commend PD for that and it’s that it counts how many clean races in total we’ve done. That is great. But this praise is drowning in the critique because there’s way too much missing.

And then of course, to add to this, the fact that kudosprime can no longer access data like previously yet PD have not delivered an in-house alternative. In fact, we’ve even lost the DR BAR in game!

Agreed, I can't get anywhere with the BoP races, and I can't use my Tomahawk in these. Lol!

Can you spot your logic fail?

Well the Atenza as Gr.3 isn't a 4x4 and the Gr4. Monza was before 1.13.

Beetles and WRX are dominating at the moment, but I was able to qualify well and have a nice race with my Jaguar. At the same time, I suspect that the C7, Mustang and Mercedes will still be potential vehicles for good results. With the M6 I am almost 1 second slower.. it still suffers from its brake problem.. I would have liked to do a comparison test with BoP settings but configured brakes to prove that it is the case, unfortunately my steering wheel failed.. and I probably won't be able to play for a while because I can't drive with a pad anymore.... and I certainly don't enjoy it.

Mighty impressive that someone put a Porsche into the top 10. Not sure how long it's going to stay there, but it's mighty driving by them.

Loaded the ghost up and I fly through it on the straights in the Mustang, but they drive it so smooth through the corners that it's just gone by the end of the second chicane.

EDIT:

Hahaha 5 minutes later and it's gone. It was there, I swear!

Personally, I can say that I don't play daily races anymore, until the Bettle Cup and GT-R Cup or even WRX Cup problem is fixed.
It will just shift to another car, sim racing will always, always have a meta, unless they just make all cars drive the exact same. Best bet it to just get over it and race the car that works on a given week. 👍

After some success I've moved up to dr B lobbies (yay!), wow are there some dirty drivers at this level (boo) - maybe it's because I'm now at the bottom end of B but it's way dirtier than C races, really obvious stuff too like swerving & trying to push you off on the straights! Seriously, just pick your line & race it - you're slowing us both down!
