Well that was satisfying - half a second slower than the fastest lap of P3 but I got no penalties at all and was able to maintain a 2 to 3 second lead.
I'd likely have finished 2nd but P1 picked up track limit penalties.

I tried the 650 but just slipped back from 2nd to 9th.

Edit/ done a few more races, and likely only be Huracan and G70s racing all week. G70 seems stronger at the end of the race than the Huracan (not when I'm driving the G70 though 😂)

A couple of chaps were going good in the Vantage but crashed.

Just had a couple of clashes with a so called GT world champion at Road Atlanta.

One can only assume it's a friend on his log in or something, won't name them but my god he was snidey as hell. In one race he just drove straight into me when I was turning at the 2nd part of the chicane after overtaking him (he made no attempt to turn himself until he hit me) and sent me down to last place.

Next race he tried a stupid overtake at the top hairpin before the straight and hit me . So I took him out at the end of the straight and got a 3 second penalty.

Thought these guys would be respectful racers, apparently not. Quite disappointed actually as my race pace was decent enough for a top 6 until those moments.
Sure it was the real guy?

I am excited to see the online-only racers' reactions to Eiger Nordwand Reverse turn 3 now it has finally shown up in the dailies.

I vote we nickname it Snooker Table corner, because that's what the pit lane entry reminds me of, a pocket on a snooker table that unsuspecting cars get potted into.

100%. Was definitely him as well
Are you racing in the top splits because they rarely come out to play for races like this, slow cars, no strat. Just not a lot of DR on the table for them and quite honestly none of their peers are racing.

When I've raced with these guys before, they are typically faster and more race craft/control than I have and they win and lose DR.

I don't think you were racing against a world tour driver or ex driver, they may have a screen name but it's not them, and if it is them they would be nearly 1s faster than our times so they might know how to be fast from any place on the track compared to us? 🤷‍♂️

It is them. And they hadn't set a Qualy time so were coming through from the back. That's why I'm annoyed at being hit, they would have got me anyway without forcing through

Not unheard of at all unfortunately for WT drivers to just barge you out the way in their pursuit to 1st. Surprisingly quite a common thing.

I get the frustration mate but there is forcing through and just letting them through. One is their call one is your call.

The problem with the super fast guys and the seal clubbers isn't that they go from the back it's just how to let them through cleanly without affecting your race. The reality is they can all out qualify most of us so are clearly much faster than us. I don't race them anymore if there is a seal clubber or someone I know to be quick I just let them through and don't fight because it's unnecessary drama.

Holy crap...I raced on a Monday and DIDN'T torch the entire field while doing it!!! Sorry, I know I'm more excited about that than I should be. 😁

Really do love drivin' through the woods. Started P3 which helped a TON. Had a great race and was able to snag P2 through the first set of tunnels on the last lap. Got a little shady on L3 when I came in to T1 a little hot. Not sure if it was me missing the mark due to draft, dirty air or what but could not stop. Tagged P2 (they stayed on track) and slowed down to give the spot back...which also allowed P4 through. Needless to say, CRB was not to be had but a good time definitely was.👍

Hoping it's a good week!

From flag to flag and I had 2 incidents and a .5s penalty but before that I was 15s ahead.

@Jflijohn you might be on to something with the way lobbies are balanced.

I was over 1s quicker on pole than 2nd place in a mid B/S lobby and my QT is only a 1.24:8
I guess my biggest issue right now is that I’m rated as a DR-B in both of my accounts. In most cases, I’m not competitive in B lobbies for either qualifying or races. At The Ring this week, I was usually the last car running and, as I stated earlier, large disparity in QT.
When I get dropped back down to C lobbies, it’s not like I’m winning lots of races, it’s the occasional win, but my qualifying times are more competitive and race results seem to hover around top 5. If you are consistently in the top half, at some point, you automatically get bumped up, regardless of your times.
To learn the track, I was creating 6 lap Gr.3 races with no BoP but they are pretty easy and usually a guaranteed win, there is nothing like racing live bodies.

I can only get these races to the first level of Professional, is there a way to get to the 2nd or 3rd Professional bar?

Edit: never mind, I figured it out. AI is much faster harder now.

It was nice of him to stop by and say hello, I lost 2 tenths exchanging pleasantries but that is nothing between friends!

Curious...how no damage tho??? I know this is one of those things I should probably know so be gentle...🤣
Finally saw another :gtpflag:member on track today, so that was awesome. Also weird, in a way. Am I the only one that 'clenches up' a bit when you see another board member lined-up?? I get this total wave of 'act-right' that washes over me, and more intensely than normal. Was super awesome when we were sittin' 1 and 2 to start, but the nerves, good lord the nerves.🤣

Couple penalties took the wind outta my sails for that one, though. Good seeing you out there @Voodoovaj and congrats on the win!👍

It did damage the front and rear suspension on the right, it drove like a shopping trolley into the next couple of corners 😅

I edited together some highlights from last week at the Nurburgring where the cars seemed very bouncy:

I love Road Atlanta but GT4 on Hards with no strategy sounds like less fun than watching paint dry.
holy crap was I wrong this has been super fun! It's 100% 4WD at least in all the lobbies I've found myself in but I'm having a great time. The Genesis is the car I'm best with, down to a low 1:25 QT which puts me starting in the top 3-5 pretty much every time.
