That’s the thing, I started doing exactly what I didn’t want to do by putting time into qualifying and just grinding the same race to farm DR. I originally did it so I could bounce between all the dailies without worrying about DR.

Use the 2nd account to race without Qually, then you can grind Qually on your main if you wanna race up front. Or use the other to start in the back.
 
I had the best time pretending to be a NASCAR driver in the Race A at Daytona this past week. The times I had a proper draft going was the best racing I have had in a long time. I even had some side by side drafting with 2 lines trying not to collide. Which didn't always happen, but man was it cool when it worked. I just wish I wasn't dumped/sideswiped so many times. I know that the driver and safety ratings not being changed had something to do with it, but it got annoying when I got sent for no reason. I even skipped Dragon Trail Seaside to do Daytona. And DTS is one of my favorite tracks to run. Hopefully the combos are good for the next batch or races.
 
I'm going to miss C. Had a lot of fun with it; I love the Dayton road course. As the week went on, kept improving my quali lap getting it down to a 1:29.5X which was enough to keep me mostly away from the riff-raff. There were your glitch qualifiers but they were easily disposed of... obviously using the glitch to make up for the lack of skill.

There were a couple of players I ran into (not literally) throughout the week that our pace were basically identical. Those were some fun races with some clean driving. (No, I am not obsessed with 7UP but I thought these liveries were cool and..... not OEM like all the other 787Bs.)

Look at all that space being left by the drivers when there is a car next to them through a turn! Craziness!!!

This one was close the whole way. Guy behind was closer than he appears here at the finish as he got a .500" penalty thru the bus-stop on at the end.

Then I tried the C9. What a joke haha. Was ~15mph slower on the straights. I just put the hazards on and let the Mazdas go. It was very planted through the turns and very stable through the bus-stop. Oh, and you also have to fuel save... which I didn't realize until the penultimate lap. Ended up P5 as I ran out of gas right before the finish line.

@NikNakTobasco Would love a 4 or 5 lap Gr 3 race in Sardinia for Race B. No idea about A or C as I'm on Race B 99% of the time 🙂

Oh yeah. That would be awesome. I had a great week and one of my first of taking the game seriously in GTS with sardegna road A (I think). I was in the Mclaren F1 GTR which was meta alongside the Corvette. It was a race C though with a pit stop.
Something like that would be great for B or C.
I hope they keep experimenting with A. Going back to hatchbacks would be a let down after this week.

No idea what the type is called, but basically I'm thinking of the same layout as the 15 lap race on single player 😁

That’s the one! Love that track. Although I was DR B last time round. So would be interesting to see what pace I have there now. I’d be worried it’ll be a WRX one make though as I don’t care for that car at all.
 
I didn’t have a lot of time to race this past week but I did run some laps at Seaside and hit a pretty good one for my standards. I struggled to be consistent through the chicane in race trim though, so I only ran a few races there before I decided to move on to some single player stuff that I hadn’t gotten to yet.

Anyway, I try to make it a point to record at least one thing each time I play, so here’s my reference lap in the Gr.4 GTR. Select 4K if you’ve got it :)

Sure feels like it. Genuinely don't know what they're doing. People have been asking for strategy in C for months at this point - but they refuse to listen and give us rehashes instead.

A is also a massive step down from what it was last week. If you're gonna give us gr.B, give us a rally track, surely? What's the point of the combo they gave us having no SR/DR when it's hardly unique.

What an utter load of garbage tossed up again for this weeks races.

Race B …….. sprint, same old meta, less than 10 minutes.
Race C ……… sprint, same old meta, less than 20 minutes.

No strategy whatsoever. No tyre choices. No fuel/tyre wear at all. No mandatory stops. No change in car/track combination. Even if it rains, they are still tedious.

In short, NO IMAGINATION AGAIN!!

Oh, and it’s the RL Le Mans this weekend, and we get a faceless track in Austria. Wake up!!

No strategy bundled in with a rehash of a crap combo from hardly a month ago. They could at least rehash it with strategy or do a new track with no strat. This is just completely baffling now. Still we’re stuck with 16 cars as well which has just been kind of accepted. That’s nearly half the cars that can run in ACC in PS5. Yes I know no one plays that but it’s the principle of the matter.

You know I would be disappointed, but I was told that I need to keep a longer term vision as this live service develops. I’m absolutely certain that wasn’t a face-saving lie.

edit / updated: Gr.B, comfort tires (10 laps! tcs deactivated!) for Race A. I just… what? And the curbs aren’t bad anymore for Race B, that might be decent.

They’ve fixed the curb exploit apparently. And surprisingly it wasn’t by removing the curbs or the wheels!
 
So it looks like Race C is Redbull Ring Gr3 BOP, any idea what the others are?

EDIT: In-case anyone else wonders what people are moaning about, see below

Race A - Maggiore East End Reverse - 10 Laps - Gr.B - BOP - No DR/SR
Race B - Kyoto Driving Park Yamagiwa - 5 Laps - Gr.4 - BOP
Race C - Red Bull Ring - 12 Laps - Gr.3 - BOP

What the hell is wrong with PD? Why are they insisting on doing everything humanly possible to alienate their player base?

Repeating race C, with no strategy (are the pits broken or something?) A Race A that could have been cool with the right track, but is going to be just another punt-fest. Race B with the most terrible BoP imaginable.

I have been obsessed with this game since I was a young man and restarted a whole new love affair when I downloaded GTSport, but now it feels like a toxic and abusive relationship. I keep hoping they’ll change but, eventually, the only way to save myself is probably to leave.

Come on PD, if there are reasons for this rubbish then let us know. If not LIFT YOUR GAME OR IT’S OVER.
 
Race A I honestly find pretty fun, group B on comfort soft on a short track. Punt fest and drift fest. However, it shouldn't actually be Race A. It should be its own separate category of 'fun race' where we get a no DR/SR weekly without losing the normal race A. Race A IMO should be more like the radical SR3 at laguna seca week, that was fun.

I think pretty much everyone agrees that race C shouldn't be a straight sprint...lol...personally I wish they would have an 'endurance' race. Not to cannibalise race C, but I would love something more like 40+mins with chance of random weather (actual random, so some dynamic strategy is introduced). Perhaps as a mid week weekly event or something...

To me, it just feels like this game has so much potential, and somehow is being held down by decisions I can't comprehend. On the whole I am still enjoying it and playing it but yeah, just my opinion :)
