Ditto. Did four races trying to have some fun, literally got punted in three of them. Was like 1/16" away (on my TV) from filling up the A rank and possibly jumping to A+, now it's more like 3/4" away.Agreed, and if he’s faster through that section and he’s on your bumper he’d have the run on the straight anyway..
That’s me done with this weeks, been punted off 3 times tonight and it’s knocking my rating down too much. PD need to fix these penalties or this game will lose a big player base.
Going to do this. Not so I can drive dirty, but for weeks with tracks I don't get along with I can not have to worry about it so much.Yes a new Account. Then you can start a new Career.
With Level 9 Café Menue you can Race at Sport Mode.
Until your second account accrues more DR than your main account 😬but for weeks with tracks I don't get along with I can not have to worry about it so much.
It IS, yes. I enjoyed a lot of good races yesterday in the afternoon, people raced clean, good fun, but the rage bug bit a lot of people when evening came. My biggest mistake was not to stop racing when the change became noticeable. The stupid thing is, it's a GREAT track for proper overtakes (...)
I couldn't help but wonder if it's some kind of experiment.I have no idea how they thought no ratings races whould be anything but a disaster
No worries at all, and glad you got some nice results !Want to say thanks for the guides you put out each week.
I ran a bunch of Race C in the BRZ, and just as you suggested, was able to pull some nice results in every one.
Starting on average in 10th/11th and running up to 6th, typically, even grabbed a solid 4th place without any pressure from behind. Kept it clean, didn't race people that I didn't need to race, and consolidated all those spots by just hitting my marks and running 2:03.9 - 2:04.1's in the race, lap after lap in the US/Americas Top Split (PS4 ) lobbies. Usually only beat by A+ drivers who would have me on pace anyway. So your guide was SPOT ON!
The new Subaru is really pleasant to drive. So glued at the rear but pretty precise on the front end, too. Never have to catch it on throttle-off or throttle-on, which in the latest updated physics is a plus (the current model is really weird and even the 911 RSR was going around on my in throttle-off entry scenarios, which it never did in GTS...). Nice and flexible power band for the esses. I was even able to occasionally go purple (yes, after lap 2!) in Sector 1, as well as the car tracked through those curves, even on fuel mix 2 or 3.
It helps that Suzuka is one of my statistically better tracks, I've always enjoyed good race results there even if I am not able to put in as banger of QT as many of the people I end up racing with.
Hopefully bolstered by DR a little, which has bled consistently since GT7 launched, since I get matched in the top split but have no chance of beating the other 6 or 10 regulars who show up to race dailies on PS4s... (started GT7 at about 45k, looks to have fallen to about 40k per the bar on My Page.)
I was using FM3 with BRZ and switched to FM2 with short shifting at a quarter per your advice and cut about 5 seconds off my total race time. I can't quite manage to run all 10 laps at FM2 though... last 1.5 laps have to switch to FM3 and finish with under 0.1 in the tank. Those last two laps cost me about 3-4 seconds... 2:03s while on FM2 and 2:05s while on FM3 with extreme short shifting to make it home. I just need to figure out how to save an extra 0.2 of fuel over entire race without losing time and I can just stick to FM2. I don't really need the pace for the moment since I just came back to GT after a long break so racing in low splits and winning by a large margin waiting for my promotions. Only once have I been pressured by another E driver starting from 2nd position right behind me and he was running a 1 stop... didn't fight too long because I knew he'd pit anyway and it worked out.No worries at all, and glad you got some nice results !
I was at 1:59.2 and searched for a replay in game from suzuka in my qualifying car (Hyndai Genesis)... a couple techniques from that replay allowed me to hit a 1:58.9. It's overkill at my split but still wanted to crack 1:58.I can only see myself racing if I can set a time that will see me start top 3 which would need to be about 1.59.3. Can’t see that happening!
I think you overestimate how difficult it is to be properly competitive if you're practicing for it. You're using the triggers to accelerate and brake, one thumb on the analog stick to steer - whats your other hand doing? You've got a full free thumb and 4 face buttons for shifting gears. Easy as pie.I think it depends, if you just want to have fun a controller is absolut fine. And for me nearly a year long totally enough.
I now have a T300 and it is a total game changer, the feeling is much more realistic and after some weeks of learning my DR went from B to A... I know there are also really competitive controller driver, but I can not imagine to manual shift on a controller... even trail braking seems very hard for me

Video from one of the dailies that brought me back into the fun realm. And exactly the kind of racing that leaves you wanting more.
Um......Your not alone. Most Race B's I've done have been great fun, fairly clean. And the Alfa is underrated.I feel like I'm the outlier here. I have run a bunch of race B this week and only really had 1 muppet encounter. Rest of the week has been close racing, some passes and side by side stuff but all good racing. Even the muppet was better the next time I raced them as I took them side by side through the tunnel exit complex after the back straight and showed you could do it side by side. They stopped swerve blocking under braking after that and had 2 more close races with them. I think the aggressive people are making a lot of drivers paranoid.
And the Alfa is still underrated. Got a 1:59.7 Q time in it. And I seem to close up on the WRX and GTR drivers at the start of the race, or gap the ones behind me.
It's weird. I've been there in another game (Siege) and I still don't fully understand it. It was my favourite game by a mile, to the point where I had thousands of hours in it, had spent hundreds in cosmetics, and then one day, I stopped playing. I would go to the main menu, then just close the app.I just read the Article.
Quite interesting to be honest and probably the Reason why many have different Accounts.
The Fear of loosing something they have worked for and have put in time and Sweat.
Something which they are proud off and like to show off.
Some sort of Badge, representing their Rank.
Something that gives them some sort of Confidence and giving them some being superior over others Vibes.
For me personally I never understood that.
One Chap on my Friendslist even goes so far that he doesn’t put in a LapTime in Time Trial unless it’s equal to my LapTimes or faster.
I told him he’s paranoid, but he said he simply couldn’t take it if he‘d see me being faster than him, this is crazy.
He would then think that I might think that he is slow which would than give me the feeling I’m better than him.
So weird that some people completely forget what it is that should make us play Video Games, be it Solo or Multiplayer.
IT'S FUN AND PLEASURE.
I play Video Games for Fun AND for the sake of Competitive Gaming.
Whether I play as a low Ranked Player or as a high Tier Player.
Now comes the most important part in my opinion which lets me either enjoy the Game or not.
IT IS PLAYING FAIR.
That’s all I care about personally.
To me it’s completely secondary if I win or loose or whatever Rank I am.
I NEVER, not once felt bad when I lost a race to others who won fair.
Of course I do my best to win and I want to win but when I realize that someone is better or faster or smarter, I just readjust my Mindset and look for 2nd place.
If that also is out of reach I continue to constantly readjust my Goals.
But unfortunately I had to stop playing Sport Mode at all.
The Ruleset is just killing it for me.
I simply can’t enjoy a Game when I can’t trust others racing around me, never knowing if they won’t suddenly snap and do something stupid.
I ALWAYS play fair, even when I got punted deliberately, I didn’t retaliate.
I just simply continue even when being dead last with no hopes of catching up.
I just can’t justify to myself giving up and therefore letting the Villain break me.
Maybe it is because of my Martial Arts Background which taught me to ALWAYS BE FAIR AND CONTROL my Feelings, most probably.
I eventually made it to a few Championships and I exactly know what it feels to be under Stress and trying to keep the temper low.
Focus and never give up.
But anyway, I still think that the biggest Problem some People might have loosing their DR or Rank is simply the Fear of thinking someone might be better than them.
At least to the Peers around their Pace.
They are aware that the Aliens are out of reach, untouchable.
I mean everyone wants to pretend that he’s better.
But we got to be realistic.
There‘ll always be someone better, smarter or whatever.
No need to feel ashamed as long as you had a good time, enjoyed what you did and gave your best you could.
And most importantly:
You kept it FAIR 😁

Yes, and that is the main reason for the problem. The SR rating algorithms still seem to take these contacts into account, though. At least on my part...Has the penalty system been changed? I noticed the complaints, but also I'm not seeing penalties awarded for contact where it would have been given before.
Not in my book. It has great acceleration and seems to be very stable on contact. Which leads drivers to think they have earned the right to divebomb in the first, uphill sector.Um......Your not alone. Most Race B's I've done have been great fun, fairly clean. And the Alfa is underrated.
I’ve been avoiding race B this week. I guess the unfamiliarity of the reverse track is making it even more of a crashfest. Don’t want to drop back down to DR D because of something like that. Suzuka seems a lot cleaner - if I drop down after those races, it’s because of performance and I’m ok with that.last week managed to get upto DR C for a few races...ran mostly Race B this week and got put into races with mainly C's and a few B's and thats when it all went wrong...some really dirty racers both B/C's and got punted off numerous times despite making clean overtakes. Deliberate side swipes to force me into the walls, etc and yet these drivers get NO penalties whatsoever...
One race i started 15th and managed to get upto 9th through waiting for others to crash out or get bumped off, then on the corner after the tunnel i got smacked from behind, into the wall and my car damaged....ended up 15th...and my driver rating subsequently falls to D
So annoyed....and for those saying get better and the higher ranks are cleaner....utter rubbish...B drivers are just as dirty, in fact they know what they can get away with and not affect their DR
rant over
Yes, the Alfa is clearly superior in the corners and in the race it benefits from the slipstream, but without the slipstream the Alfa would have had a much harder time. 7-10 km/h difference on the right is a WORLD.The alfa is a beast out of the first right hander, the exit of the chicane. It fires out of there, I make up a place on a gtr every single 1st lap, without fail.
