You "only" need a Google account to share a video, link it to your PS4 and that's it... the rest is basically self-explanatory, but I'm happy to help you if you have any further questions.
Thanks a lot my friend, but Google is something I try to avoid as much as I can.

Still struggling to get a good lap time on Race B, but during the race itself I gain loads of places. It has me scratching my head.

Also, I find that Race B is hammering my SR. Not getting penalties, I just inevitably have contact with others.

Just finished 2nd in Race C in my rental CLM and realised at the end I had TCS set to 3. DOH! Bloody rentals.

I don't understand why you say/think that it is inevitable that YOU will have contact with other cars in race B.
So you can drive there quite cleanly and don't necessarily have to have so much hard contact that the SR suffers as a result.

Another five races this morning, one win, another ‘win’ chucked away by my own mistake on the last lap, every race a top three finish, despite plenty of door banging antics from certain drivers. Tbf, they seem to be the exception now in these morning races. Finally I’m AA rated so maybe that’s making a difference. The SRs of other drivers are still all over the place in the mornings.

One big finding: I’d been using only cockpit view since starting GT7, until today when I decided to try bumper and hood. Found bumper, which I’d always used up to and including GTS, slightly faster, but hood cam much faster - within three qually laps I’d lopped seven tenths off my qually time. And in races much easier to line up corners and overtakes. Had no idea it’d made that much difference. I really prefer cockpit for immersion, and I’ll stick with it for SP, but for online, for me, it’ll have to be hood from now on (though it feels a bit high up and ‘arcadey’ to me, like my head’s sticking through the sunroof; I wish there were a cockpit view minus the cockpit, if you see what I mean...)

Also, I think the A lobbies in this game are about the same standard as B when I was playing GTS. Don’t know if anyone else has noticed or mentioned this. Trying to figure out why I think this.

Certain points in the track just seem to draw trouble. I constantly get dive-bombed in the chicane after turn one. Also, coming out of the CoD at speed with other cars close-by is dicey. Like I say, not picking up any pens, but the racing is competitive.

Anyway, my main conundrum is not being able to convert good race pace into a great qualifying time.

I don’t know what lobbies you’re getting put in, but you keep making this kind of assertion, as you did to me a couple of days back. No, if you’re doing race B in DR B ( or A) lobbies, and if you don’t want to dawdle around at the back, ie if you want to race, you’re going to get contact with things as they are. People are going to to shove, bang, punt you and there’s nothing you can do about it (unless you can escape at the front, but then you wouldn’t be in these lobbies, would you?) You can drvecas clean as you like (I do), but you’re going to get contact.

It’s like looking into a bar where there’s a big brawl going on, and you’re telling us we can just walk in and calmly order our drink and drink it in peace if we’re careful. No. That’s not how it works.

If you want to know..

I drive on 2 accounts, my main has become A+, my other was still low A yesterday and now has about 50-55% A. Both on SR = S, so I drive in A+ and A lobbies.

In the post:

Race Yesterday

I showed the video from the last race yesterday. I had 3 contacts with other vehicles there, the first was absolutely unavoidable (at least not without losing a lot of time), the second contact was so thin that it probably doesn't even count as a contact. The 3 was also very thin, with the rider in front of me wanting to block my line even though I was already alongside him.

Overall, in my 8-9 races yesterday, I had exactly 5 contacts with other vehicles...3 in the video above. The day before it was even less.... hence my sucks from My point of view and from My experiences this week...

Good.

And how does this contradict what I and the other guy are saying above? So you agree, contact is unavoidable (if you want to gat a half-decent result)? If it happens less in A+ lobbies, that’s great, but he’s talking about his races, I’m talking about mine. If you were in my lobbies you’d be getting more contact whether you think you would or not; either that or running away at the front or bringing up the rear trying to be careful.

I'm slowly realizing it doesn't make sense...... take care.

Ayy, nords! That's some fun combos - looking forward to next week.

A would be a fantastic road car race if SR/DR was enabled, but it should still be fun to pop into every now and then.

Being a rental makes no difference. Your assist settings will be set to 3 so any session you enter regardless of car will start with TCS 3.

Nice. I suppose the F1 will be the meta again on Race B. If so it'll be nice to see a shift even if it is for a week.

Probably the Supra - the F1 is nowhere in 7, as it wasn't even used in Monza that one week.

Might have been BoP adjusted since then, though.

Maybe.
Since they have gotten rid of the comparisons GTS had we don't really know what cars are good at what with some awful everywhere and others good everywhere. There's probably going to be a few cars which can utilise the speed needed, hopefully.

All that practise at Sardegna A going to come in handy. So many hundreds of laps in various gr 3s.

Don’t think I’ll bother with the Ring. Gr 4 races are bad enough on a norma width track. This’ll be carnage in the midfield.

...doesn't even count as a contact.
Those instances are my favourite type of contact. It's just hard, side by side racing that sometimes results in some slight brushing of door handles. But the game might still consider it SR down. We can't really know. Unless we can and I just don't know about it.

* Yuck, I dislike the Nordschleife for racing.

Is my favourite to grind for cash as well, no rain so the clean race bonus is easy enough and it's a nice, bright, entertaining track

I set myself a personal challenge to win while also avoiding any contact with the AI, even through their own stupidity, so no forcing moves or forcing them out of the way, I find it gives great practice for running in online lobbies.

Yeah, race B is a bit too short. Especially when its exactly long enough to not being able to get into the next race A, vice versa.

I think i will still enjoy B and C. :-)

If you don't enter the quali TT session before the race, TCS resets to 3 when you join the race for whatever reason.
I have TCS set to 1 in the global (main options page) settings. Do you mean that’s ignored and all these online races (90 in total now) I’ve done with TCS 3? Can’t be right, surely, must check later. Or am I misunderstanding something?

I only found out yesterday that we can’t adjust brake balance, and I know I could do that in GTS. Haven’t even looked at/for TCS as assumed it’s set in the main options page, tend to just quickly flick to the radar and leave it there.

I've not noticed a pattern to it personally but it's worth checking during the race warm up as it's definitely switched back to 3 for me on a number of occasions.

Yeah, I’ll have to look later. If what these guys above seem to be saying is right, it means I’ve been in TCS 3 in every race (but then what’s the point of having the setting on the main options?)
