So what are the cars to use for C this week? 1x tire wear on Ms doesn't seem like it'd be a deal breaker for anything... even the bigger girls (M6, Vette, Stang, etc.).

Looks like B is a GTR fest with the odd Genesis. Hoping more Gr4 cars are competitive as the week goes on. I am going to try the Mustang; I like that car a bit... at least I did at St Croix.
I had decent luck with the Mustang, it did a 55.0 in qualifying after a couple of laps (although my GTR did a 54.6 after the same amount of time) - but it fares well in the race.

Race B is going to be tough but fun this week!

Had 1 race before my improved time of 1:55:2 (was a 1:55:5) and had TheKier and Eeries starting 1st and 6th respectively. A whole 0.2 separated 7th from 15th place (yours truly was 15th lol) 😅

Was a mostly clean race, saw a few bumps but only minor contacts and nobody was shoved off, which looks good for the rest of the week 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I was 12th by the end of lap 2 and closing in on a group of at least 5 cars, very close racing throughout! Corner penalties are EXTREMELY harsh, just an inch off in the chicane gives you a present of 1.5 seconds of slowing down. In lap 3, being over excited for more overtakes, i crapped the chicane and the next corner so slowed down for 2 seconds and back down to 14th 🫤

Managed to finish 13th and just behind that group again so looks promising. I don't expect to start much higher next race, even though I'm 0.3 better but hey, there definitely is time to gain and fun to be had. But the top guys running with a 1:23x is insane!

Having said that, i fully expect @NikNakTobasco and @XmaXix to join them at the top 😂👽

Wow.

One race in, and I might already be finished with daily races for this week.

Race B, decent quali time with the G70, and I find myself in a lobby with ten A drivers, three A+ and two other B drivers. Expecting a wild ride, I'm surprised that the race is clean and smooth. Well, until final lap. Some guys have spun, so I am P4 then, half a second behind P3. P2 and P3 go for it in the chicane, both get a penalty. P2 could be possible, unbelievable. Then they both, still fighting, go wide in the lefthander, almost sliding off track. I manage to sneak through on the inside, and get minimally touched by one of them as he pulls over to the left. No harm done, and I'm in P2 ahead of all the A and A+ drivers.

And then I get rammed off track in the hairpin by the Belgian butthole who was in P3 or P4 after his incident, despite the fact that he still could have made a podium finish. Complete kamikaze move just to take me out. He didn't even bother to touch the brakes. If course he quit immediately. I end up with a damaged car, limping to the finish line in P8 in a race that could have been my best result ever, in relation to the driver ratings in that lobby.

I'm pissed.

That stinks. I usually just take myself out in those situations!

So far I’ve had some clean-ish races. Everyone’s still trying to remember how to do the chicane and figure out the best lines. I wonder if your dive-bomber thought you hit him in that tussle earlier?

Anyway, I’m really looking forward to getting my load cells this week. Hopefully. 🤞🏻
Glad to see a bit of variety, early on at least. I thought the Cayman would be a bit sluggish for this one - I love the car but it does seem like driving in treacle on the straights compared to some others.
That Cayman corners so well though. If you can hold them off on the straits I think you can overtake folks in the two stores. I’ll give it a shot later . . .

Yeah, maybe he thought that. But it was me who drove cleanly round the inside, and him and the other guy pulling left from the outside. I couldn't even have avoided contact if I had hammered the brakes fully. And the contact was very light. Obviously he was able to drive along and build up enough speed to launch his missile in the ensuing hairpin.

Just tried my 2nd race and a 1:55:2 had me jump from 15th to 11th starting position. Same as you, all A+ or A drivers with top 5 all in the low 1:54's and even mid-53s...

Mostly clean though, had 2 drivers go rough on each other behind me but apparently, its been going on between them for last 3 races lol. It will be fun for sure, don't give up! We would start quite close to each other, less than 0.1 between my time and yours at the moment.

Yes, I really like how the G70 drives around there, and I was surprised that my quali time gave me P6 at the start in such a high ranked lobby.

But right now, I just don't feel any motivation to try that race again. Maybe tomorrow.

Honestly, the difference between everyone is that one great corner which can make or break your lap. I was down quite a bit in sectors 1 & 2 just now, posted a 1:11:1 but then I aced sector 3 and went 0.3 seconds faster overall, down to a 1:54:9. If I matched my average of 1:10:7 after the uphill right turn, I would be almost half a second quicker and in the mid 54s! Keep trying mate, if I can do it, most people can :)

That's why that incident pissed me off the most: I was having a perfect race for my standards. I hit every corner and every chicane almost perfectly. The gap to P1 (another A+ driver) was less than 3 seconds when I got killed. And despite being quite nervous, I actually was able to focus on what was ahead of me, instead of anxiously looking backwards all the time.

But, yeah, I might concentrate on my Q time now, it's less stressful...😅

I will give it a go myself. The alternate account is still just a DR C so probably more chance there, won't get swamped by everyone else in AWDs.

I lost SR after 2 more corner penalties, still have A/S ratings but I dropped a tier for sure as wasn't in same lobby as NikNak anymore and everyone was A/S and A/A in mine.

Last race lasted less than a lap, started 7th, overtook in sector 3 but he really wanted that place back, enough to try and pit maneuver me for 20 seconds. He finally managed to send me sideways into the pit lane entry barrier and I quit the race 🫤 not gonna be easy to climb back up to Tier 1 so need to improve my time to start farther ahead and avoid the drama 😢

Does track limits effect SR? I’m screwed then after my last race!
Watkins feels very clumsy in the GTR. The chicane is a bit random with the curbs, or I’m just not good enough. Hopefully I can get more consistent.

I think so, before my tier drop, i had no contact in 2 races but got 3 pens total...

That's why I decided to stay away from the GTR. The Genesis is super stable around there. I haven't botched the chicane once in about 20 tries.

Different topic:
I wanted to give race A a try and did some qualifying laps.
Two observations:
1. This forum, especially guys contributing to this actual thread, are quite well represented in the top times.
2. Very few players seem to be doing race A, or at least the qualifying. I did some laps, felt I didn't do very good. Over four seconds slower than the top time. Meh.
But looking at the rankings, I'm P125 in the world, on monday evening? What? 🤣

Edit: The race is quite fun. Spread from A+/S to B/A (so not much participation, sadly), qualified P3, finished P3, less than 4 seconds behind P1, who had a qualifying time in the Top20. Everything clean and fair. I'll do some more of these, seem to fit me. Sadly no DR, but whatever...😆

Quick test results for race b:

Cayman 57.9, 155 56.6, GTR 56.3, Mustang 57.0

As expected the AWDs win but didn’t expect the Mustang to be close. More time there with a bit of practise so I think I’ve found my ride for the week.

Had a go at both B and C on the duelsense, very difficult to get around those long turns, they're similar tracks in terms of what's needed to drive well. Might be better on the wheel we'll see.

I could feel the stick drift developing at every corner

I tested the Mustang, and I got the identical times out of it like with the GTR.

Still a second faster with the G70, though.

So I know it's only the first day that these daily races are available, but for A, I'm already in the top 100 for my region's qualifying times, even though I'm about four seconds off from the top time. Definitely gonna have to try racing for this one.

Edit - sorry mods, I didn’t consider this a name-and-shame as I didn’t quote the person’s full PSN ID, but it was in the screencaps as well so better delete the whole lot.

Abbreviated version - I got rammed and was rather annoyed.

Apologies for the rage post

I really hate Sport sometimes. Should never have tried race C, even on the backup.

Was having a nice race in the BRZ, up from 13th to 4th as everyone crashed in front of me. A small mistake dropped me to 7th behind a couple battling each other. As we go through sector 1 one of them loses control and wipes us both out.

Drops us way down the field but I keep going, recover some places as the Subaru is so easy on the tyres.

Late in the race I come up behind him again (of course that’s his username) - at this point I’m pretty angry and was going to send it no matter what. Actually passed completely clean.

This was obviously too much for the child to accept. Final corner and the inevitable happens.

Drops me back to 11th - and just in case there was any doubt about it being deliberate:

What’s the point? I give up - going back to single player. People are morons.
Two things.

The collision where they lose it, looks like a mistake and is just unfortunate that you get collected too from what I can see. But looking at the inputs maybe you could have let of the throttle when you see them lose control to try and avoid the car? Im only making an obervation from the 3 pictures you uploaded.

As for the punt at the end 😂 that just an idiot who didn’t like the fact they got overtake and lost a position. It’s moves like that, that pits me off racing too at times. Then the comments at the end are just childish. He obviously had some beef with about that overtake

Obviously we had completely opposing experiences today. After getting killed in my only race B on my main account, I did two races B on my second account, just because I didn't want to compromise my DR. Surprise: low B lobbies, where carnage often reigns, but both races were completely clean, with friendly chat afterwards. I even got CRB once, and missed the second CRB only because of track limits at one point. And I won both races (felt a bit guilty), after changing positions with P2 back and forth cleanly in both.

This game is what people make it. And what they do is still unpredictable.

Yeah the first was just an error. Saw them losing control but didn’t expect them to come back onto track so sharply. Completely flat at that point, I was doing purple sector 1s all race, only place I could make up ground. Don’t think I could’ve avoided it even if I backed off (unless they got ghosted).

Your usual Race A custodian here again...

Great race this week! I've tried two different tunes, and finding it very fun to seek the differences and find the best settings.

Saying that, due to a The Bonanza™, it's very much Z4-swapped Vs the rest

The Mazda RX Vision isn't horrible in C. It does tend to want to slide through the long lefts, but if you can manage the rotation it can actually help. Not as fast on the straights as the Supra but it also doesn't seem to suffer from the understeer. Something to try if you're bored with the same ol same ol.

Hmmmm. Don't know what to make of Race B or C. Set a 1.54.6 (in the G70) in Race B but i was awful in the race, i love the track but jeez is it hard to pass on, i watched some ludicrously stupid/ambition overtakes on Kie's stream earlier So forgive me but I'll probably not touch it again until i set a better TT time. Only just got into the 1.32's for Race C so the same applies to that, feel i need to get a bit more dialed in on both tracks so I don't just end up going backwards.
And on a side note, I'm pretty sure PD removed the kerb glitch at Yamagiwa a few updates ago but every top ghost i followed was taking those two corners with left wheel over the kerb (on that concrete bit) and the other on the kerb.

Doing a bunch of Race B's, shame I missed the Gr.3 Watkins Glen ones because I don't like Gr.4 cars on this track very much. Also having trouble with track limits as well on a couple of the turns with how strict they they are, especially with PD seemingly being unable to tell when clearly you didn't gain any time by going off-road.

Honestly curious about what satisfaction people get from just crashing out everyone on purpose. Why not just play Wreckfest at that point.
