Dragon Trail.
Again.

Zero effort from PD. I remember that reverse race from GT Sport. Being always stuck for one week with the same 3 combo doesn't help, as usual. This way it seems that we never race on tracks such as Watkins Glen, Nurb GP, Catalunya (GP/no chicane/National), Mount Panorama, Daytona, Laguna Seca, Brands Hatch, La Sarthe...

EDIT: yeah no chicane Catalunya was there last week. I didn't notice because I never drive Race C. Too many laps. I drive in B.

That was the rallycross. I wrote GP/no chicane/National.

I wish there was a way to reset your qualy times for dailys, because the top 6 or 7 get splattered in race B on 1st turn and cod... Sheesh, im losing DR points by the buckets today. Guess I'll hace to fire up the ole 2nd acct for this week

What do you guys think? Is that damage system overblown? Or should it be this way to educate unconsistent drivers like me?

I actually quite like it....although it does seem a bit unfair when someone else bins it in front of you and it's impossible to avoid them....thus giving you engine damage. If you do any Race C's you'll be well versed in the damage model by the end of the week.....And I'm calling it now bet you PD put a Tokyo Expressway daily race in soon......

I can't figure out how to drive the Alfa. Can someone please teach me how to get around turn 7 (the second big turn) without totally locking up and swinging left (EVERY TIME!!!) and smacking into that rock wall? It happens to me every single time and I can't figure out how to keep it stable through braking.

It's the hardest turn to get right, i think of the 40 laps of TT i did i maybe got it right 2 or 3 times......But yeah try and brake in a straight line, maybe ease off a bit more before turn 6.....get as close to left as you can. The car is unstable as your either carrying too much speed and/or braking going round turn 6.

I take your point but of the 27/28 weeks that we're into GT7 we've only had 3 race B's at DT Seaside and this is the first in reverse.

I hate to say it, but this week's races are trash. Just complete, bottom of the barrel garbage fires. B and C are basically pinball races that reward people who ram other people into the walls. There is zero strategy. None. Just 4 or 10 lap sprints. The damage is not reciprocal, and there are no penalties, so there's a very strong incentive to just ram people out of your way, killing their motors (and their races) while only taking a little bumper damage. No need to actually "race" in these events. If they feel entitled to my spot because I'm in front of them, they nail me. I'm seeing it all around as well, so it's not just me being paranoid. I've been the only B driver in all A lobbies and I've been in all B lobbies, so it's not skill level or anything like that. It's been incentivized by this stupid damage-with-no-penalty model.

I've found that if I try to stay strong and stand my ground I get rubbed and rammed into walls. Conversely, if I back out and let them pass I get rammed by the people behind me! I'm losing DR point like crazy because either I'm getting absolutely clobbered and losing my motor, and coming in last, or I'm avoiding contact and the resulting damage, and coming in last anyway. This is just trash. With no penalty system applied (other than crossing a curb once in a while?) I've turned into an angry, vengeful and aggressive driver in exactly ONE DAY of races.

I'm disgusted by this whole thing and am actually feeling like not playing at all this week for the first time since the game was released. I usually will give these things a chance to even out, but this is just the worst I've ever seen. I'm not seeing any challenge that's worth investing my time. I hate to complain about it, but this isn't simply me running into my own limitations (other than a desire to race cleanly and fairly). This seems to be the state of the Dailies this week.

Thanks. And thanks also to @Leon Kowalski I finally got it figured out in TT and when I went to my first race I promptly rammed right into that stone wall to the left because the weight is totally different because of the fuel load! AGH!! It doesn't matter anyway. I'm 4 seconds slower than everyone else I'm racing so what's the point?! I'm bleeding DR points and don't think I can get much better at these stupid neanderthal events this week. I'll keep doing TT but I don't think I'll be racing.

Literally every single one of those tracks has been in the last couple of months except Le Mans which was a bit longer ago but we had it in gr2

Which is the problem with the matchmaking in GT7. "In the last couple of months."

If PD wanted to make good use of the tracks in the game we would have a continuous track rotation in Sport mode without having to wait a week and pray.

I like weekly races as a whole, but I would prefer us to have at least one set that rotates more often.

You even see it here that if people don't like a combo or two, they're out of any competitive online races to play for a week. What other game works like that? It's crazy.

I actually find the ramming seems to have gone down this week. A/A+ only doing daily B. I did punt someone(Lyric) in the first hairpin at Dragon's tail. I felt really bad because of how much damage I gave the other car, and waited till they started. My car was ****ed too. I put a tire off into grass and it unsettled the car really bad underbraking.

But overall I think the new damage model will encourage cleaner driving. I even more careful driving form those trying to be clean.
Daily A is fun but has anyone else notice that custom wheel rotation/sensitivity does not seem to working on Karts? I typically like a really fast wheel for Karts and its seem to be defaulting me to auto which feel slightly to slow for these things. I can change wheel rotation in all other sport mode races.

If PD is thinking about forcing people to run the stock in game lock to lock in sport that would be a poor move IMO.

My wish isn't to see "daily" races either.
My wish is to have a proper track rotation once you're in a Sport mode lobby.
No timer of 15-20 minutes between each lobby. Why being automatically removed from it at the end of the race? ...One race ended? Change to another track. Give the players a couple of minutes or more to adjust and switch car, and let's go.

If you've already set your qualifying lap time it is pointless to wait long periods of time doing nothing. You can have your own separate qualifying sessions for each track included in the rotation...that doesn't seem like a problem to me.

Does this ring any bells? Having qualifying GT style would only be an improvement.

Yeah that's an improvement. They only thing that still bugs me A LOT is that in qualifying we have mechanical damage and penalties. Why? For the sake of reality?
I'd say to PD to stop wasting our time.
We hit the wall? Just make the lap time invalid, don't make us correct steering for those 10-30 seconds (I don't know exactly how long the mechanical damage lasts).
We cut a corner? Just make the lap invalid. Don't slow us down and don't put the damn penalty area near the end of a lap, compromising the following one. That is absurd and has no real purpose. Again, just make the lap invalid.

This is why I have a #2 account. I've been driving on it much more than my #1 account, just because I don't care about it. Doesn't bother me where I finish and it doesn't matter if someone is driving like a prick (other than I get robbed of racing). If/when I get PIT maneuvered or pushed off the track on my A+ account it hurts a lot more. Add to that there aren't a lot of people playing at the moment (surprise, surprise) so the lobbies are often A+ down to B, thus if you lose to Bs due to someone else crashing you, you lose a lot of DR.

As little as this week's races don't appeal to me, I ended up getting bored doing some Bs yesterday. The CoD is definitely tamed down when doing DTS in reverse. I was having a lot of fun in the Genesis X as I think that is a pretty good car for this track. Put in a quick quali lap with it that has be starting in the top three... which solves the dirty driving issue 90% of the time. The flip side of that though, is there isn't a lot of good racing. I did start some races from the back and it was a ****show, especially thru the CoD.

The Aston V12 is also pretty good.

it feels like the game has hit a point where people get to A+ and either stop racing or make an alternate account! i guess i'm part of the first group... it pleases me to have hit A+, but i also know that i'm not finishing in the top half of any GT1 cup races. my GT7 PS5 A+ would be a low A on GTS, probably. i don't 'care' about my DR but that said, the idea of racing knowing that anything less than a win results in a 'loss' kind of puts me off.

i guess i need to just suck it up and make a second account until there are more than 2 A+s in a given race (north america, usually play in the daytime). i guess i have to set up a new PSN account?

This is the kind of week when a lot of us either work on grinding for money, or making pretty liveries.
I'm pretty rich in the game, so I don't really need to make more money.

I've been painting some of my cars. I find it to be pretty entertaining, and time really flies when you're working on intricate designs. Try spending some time on that, instead of doing races that you don't enjoy.

Hopefully next week's races are better. I might hop into the kart race, but I wish it had DR/SR points involved.

This is a pipe dream, but I'd love a mixed race with groups of Gr 3 and Gr 4. It might make for havoc, but running into slower traffic would create more excitement than the processions that the weekly races end up sometimes turning into.
