😝Hello PD, please give us Daytona and dynamic weather !

I don't think we've had a daily race with dynamic weather, in fact I'm sure i think i heard Kie explain why it wasn't possible. From my own experience of doing weather races in private lobbys i've found it isn't quite all there yet so to speak. Had one the other day where we chose custom weather, put what conditions we wanted in the 8 boxes you get, some dry, some rain (quite significant rain tbh, R05, R08 etc) and it never rained. Another issue we had was that the time multiplier not only speeds up the time of day but also how fast the weather changes, which in a way makes sense. I think we had the multiplier on x7 or x 10 for a race (at DT Gardens).....so even with your weather radar fully zoomed out (think its 100 miles either side of where you are) the rain moved at the most ridiculous speed, you pretty much had no time to react to it and change tyres, if you were in luck and close to the pits you were fine but if not you were totally screwed and left limping round on racing tyres. I dread to think how long a lap would've taken if that happened at Le Mans......

I feel like a oval race would be fun or interesting?

Spoken like a true American 😝 ......We did have a Race A that was an oval race (at Daytona) a while ago but that's been the only one so far on GT7.

Hmmm…I just remember one and case when I felt that I was racing against some really dirty driver. I made a mistake and tapped someone in the race which probably made the other driver lose a few tenths, my fault I was not denying that. I backed off and positions remained but the other driver obviously got very annoyed and launched full-scale war against me taking just me out several races in a row. 🙈

Just remembered that because familiar looking name there.

He didn't send you videos, pm's by any chance before it started...

Super formula at Daytona 32 car grid please

Trucks at Northern Isle tuning enabled please

Both would be a blast!

Genuinely don't think we'll ever see Northern Isle again though, not sure they know they ported it

Nothing like that.

:D. There was a vigilante/dexter like poster on here recently, who posted about going out of his way to make drivers who he perceived (and may very well have been) dirty, gt experience a misery...

You see the name of the account I race with, right?
Vigilante justice is right up my ally. If I see anything, I will ensure that that justice is rightly served.
You've got a wingman.
Val Kilmer Film GIF

Such a shame that we don't race on the same continent. I've had a lot of these races where I would have needed a wingman, too.😆

It’s most probably just me, but does anyone else feel like the Gr4 cars at Sardegna are driving ‘heavy”?

With a couple of exceptions, they seem slow to pick-up and are harder than usual to get around corners.

Also, tyre wear in the FF cars is far too high rendering them useless for a race of no pit stops.
Thats why i cant use softs on me Scirocco in races even if its allowed, it burns through them at a ridiculous speed, even in races against the AI

I have seen few others doing that in my races, when myself or others have gotten taken out by dirty drivers, some that are behind catch that driver and literally paste em into a wall or the cod this week, i just laughed and usually will let that driver pass me intentionally as respect

I have had that experience. A driver thought I bumped them, then he/she made it a point to take me out on that race, and every single race since then when the two of us are in the same lobby. Weeks later and if we end up in the same lobby, he/she does everything they can to take me out. The thing is, if you look at the original incident, it wasn't even me that took them out of the first race.

On the server I use, there is a certain flag I try to avoid as driver's from that country seem to be especially aggressive about bump-to-pass and I NEVER give them the inside as they will almost always push me off track in the exit. I have a library of race videos of getting punted by that country's best and brightest.

There was a GTWS raace on N24 with dynamic weather once. It was only 4 races on a Friday.

The problem PD has is that they can't separate qualifying weather from race weather. So some people got a dry lap in, others got stuck in the rain during qualifying, crawling around the rest of the track.

The weather radar also moves far too fast. One of the races I entered lap 2 in first, all looked clear. Weather became visible right after I passed the start, people further behind pitted for tires and the top 5 all got swamped in the rain and fell to the back.

Also two races had heavy downpour, 1 a little rain, 1 practically nothing. It's great it's dynamic, but the weather radar has to move at a sensible speed so you can plan ahead. Fully zoomed out you still only have half a lap of warning on N24 :/

This is a typical example of most of my races in Daily B.

Start between 8th to 10th, something happens lap 1 and then I climb back. Would say 9 out of 10 times i finish higher than I start, even by 3 or 4 places and some podiums.

The SR hit is annoying but managed to get back to S after 5 clean races.

Unfortunately there is a category of driver that feels any touch is a mortal insult that can only be answered by total war. They cannot see the difference between an unintended minor bump and intentional dirty driving. So even the slightest mistake provokes them into obsessive retaliation.
The Sicilian mafia would be proud of them.

Done for this week. Probably next week also.

I’ve had my fill of reckless, violent driving. Sport mode has relentlessly been a disappointment but this week sees a new low.

I don’t really know how it can be fixed but what I have witnessed today makes a mockery of the word “driving”.

Its now a blood sport. Kill or be killed. Remove your opponents at all costs using your vehicle & track walls as weapons.

Add this to a logic defying penalty system, intermittent ghosting, random server problems & a re-writing of the laws of physics and you end up with what we have.

Wacky Races. :indiff::ill::irked::banghead:

Isn't that the same as real world racing though? This is meant to be The Real Driving Simulator after all....
It would inevitably lead to players, including some of their top guys, complaining that it's unfair. Of course real life weather affects races in unfair ways as well, I'd be all for it personally, but as we saw with the swift removal of the penalty system they are cautious not to cause too many complaints.

Oh dear. Then it must be my fault that I use it as a lawnmower every time I try to drive it.😆
just dropped on PS+ Extra for you mate

If the weather changes were random each time you entered the relevant daily, you could try qualifying again - chances are you'd get a dry track at least once!

Returning from my cough 'suspension' cough I see it's still elbows out in the daillies. I actually don't mind Seaside in reverse, it's not a bad track, but we still continue with this everywhere is an overtaking opportunity mentality it seems. At least damage punishes some of these but often both parties.

There's one line through the esses, the idea you're going to overtake someone there without incident is madness.

I'm annoyed. Why are people with SR ratings of B or C put in lobbies with those with A or S?!

This same driver ruined FIVE of my races in the span of 8 total!! He was the one who brought down my SR rating earlier this week and now that I am back to S he somehow appears in my lobbies again and ruins many players' races!!

Managed to record 2 of the instances as ended up rage-quitting the rest. The other three were all Top 5 finishes, including 2 podiums!!! 👿🤐

I have been wondering that very question for couple weeks now, i was S dr until a few BB & BC drivers kept wrecking my beetle over 4 races the other day, and i was pondering and asking why the heck are they even in S or A lobbies, and how?? They serve no purpose except ruining others races to try to win at all costs... I had that happen to me when i made my way to 1st past them, i will post video later, i was fuming and he had the nerve to try to say i hit him when it was his buddy that barely scraped him earlier

I just really don’t see a fix for this unless PD completely change the whole SR system. Obviously when player numbers are low I guess they need to fill lobbies and that’s fine but the issue is now do you fill those lobbies?
Lower SR or lower DR players?
Lower SR - you are aware these players are dirty and potentially going to cause issues.
Lower DR - you will be mixed with non dirty drivers but also that could mean they are going to cause other issues as they could be inexperienced.

Id like to see a number points base system replace the letter system. Letter system only goes from S-D and you don’t physical know where they are placed in the system. They could 90 points which is just S, where as you have 99 points which is experience S rating.
Also make it harder to gain S rating. I play ACC and I’m stuck at 70 SR due to one bad crash. That crash will then slow down the progression on you gaining SR, until you’ve completed so many KM safely it will then remove that crash from the stats and you can gain SR normally until your next crash.

I honestly don't think it's difficult to solve. You can easily track where and how contact is made.

For example, the system can be programed to recognize and register the difference between contacts with the wall and:

  • Contact with a car from behind
  • Contact with a car from the side
  • Contact with a car from the front
  • Speed of both cars
  • Braking measurements

From there a simple algorithm can be set, using countless volumes of data gathered and be able to separate players who make genuine mistakes (as these instances wouldn't be frequent) and those who are bastards.

Once someone accumulates X negative points, which would be the dirty moves, you're moved along into lobbies with scum like you. The end.

Also, just to add some more context to my argument, I've been working in product and dev management for 18 years so I'm not speaking out of my ass 🙂
