So Daily C is all about regen of the battery. If you can regen the battery before the straight it looks like you are in with a good chance of winning. Some of the YTers that can regen are winning but like 20-30 seconds of the rest of the field.
Yeah I heard about this. It makes the hacky gear changes look realistic. I can’t be bothered with stuff like that it’s a bit silly.

Race A should be perfect for me: it's slow as hell. 🤣

But in my practice laps I found the gearing in AT so awkward that at some places the car seems to be dying in third or fourth gear on low revs. Does it help to change to MT? If so, this might be the moment for me, finally.
Well give it a go if you plan to grind A this week I encourage you as well it is the moment to ! 👍
I remember an event where you could chose the Civic to race at laguna I had no problem being competitive in manual against other 450pp cars available at the race so

Managed to get a race win by 6 seconds but I’m not quick enough to ride the brake pedal to charge the hybrid and keep the speed into corners. Sector 3 is where you need to do all the regen.

I think it’s time Leon. Do a bunch of quali laps and it’ll become second nature. It only took me a half day to get it down when I switched. You already know where you need to shift based on your complaints, so you’re already halfway there!

Unfortunately I can't get this figured out so I'm probably gonna pass on race C this week

Yeah the hybrid kinda ruins this race. I’m going to give it go at racing flat out without saving the hybrid and see how far I fall back. In the lower lobbies saving the hybrid might not be too much of an issue. Defo required in the top splits

I'm sorry.. you're as fast as you are on Automatic?!?!?!?!?

Fuji sector 3 is probably my worst sector in the entire game, having to double pedal it certainly doesn’t make it sound any more fun!

This part of the game intrigues me. IRL, drivers need to cope with and plan recharge cycles to maximize their drive. I expect the implementation is easier, that is, they have a harvest button or lever to vs two-footing the pedals.

The Toyota does not require manual harvesting. The Audi definitively needs harvesting and it is difficult. The Porshe is faster than both an the harvesting is easier.

On automatic: yes. Fast: err... I didn't think I was fast.😊

I don't and would happily see it removed from the game entirely ;)
the whole 'come out of every turn in the wrong gear' thing is just so off-putting at RBR. on other courses, its usually just one or two turns and i don't bother doing it... but here it feels like i've got to re-learn a lot of mechanics to put up consistent times.

So in the Daily C running919, in order to be competitive you have to start braking early while still on the throttle to rebuild the hybrid motor? Ugh. Basically the same nonsense as wall riding.

I'm trying to decide which race to focus on this week, B or C. In qualifying for Race C, I find the pop-up on the right hand side of the main straight to be distracting, now that I've noticed it.

I thought Mark Cerny said that these kinds of things shouldn't happen so much on the PS5.

How in the world/Why in the world is the NSX the dominant car for all the top times in Race B? I can't get it to do anything for me and I feel like I'm missing something very obvious that makes it worthwhile. Any ideas?

Lol me too. I feel like I'm steering a raging circus elephant. I tried the Porsche and so far, I understeer into the gravel on turn 4 every time.

This is actually my first time driving since 1.20 and I'm not sure what the hoopla surrounding the MR cars was about. At least for the RSR. Or maybe it's just a RH tires thing. I don't know.

The RSR rotates best when you’re coasting. You need to brake then coast until you’re rotated and then get on the throttle. Once you get a feel for it the car is an absolute joy to drive.

Yep! Race C for me is just not fun. I spend too much time looking at the hybrid rather than the racing.
T1 - by the 150m board full throttle and and apply about 25% brakes and then as you hit the red and white curb full brakes.
T6 - after the long right hander, as the track start to straighten up again apply the brakes but stay full throttle, until you hit the brake point then full brakes
T10 - about 50m before the overhead advertising board apply the brakes 25% with full throttle and then I think it the curb again full braking
T13 & T15 - you want to brake 5% to cut the hybrid off and full throttle, and full brakes at the braking point
T16 - again 5% brake to cut the hybrid, and then full braking at the braking point.

Sector 3 is key in getting the regen done. You can gain half a second on the car in front down the main straight if you have the full hybrid deployment, that is if the others don’t have it.

Hopefully the track map below should give you an idea. Green is brake full throttle. Red normal braking.

Im sticking to Race B this week. Gr3 at RBR my fav combo.
Took the Lexus round tonight and picked up a race win it. Not a bad car but the Porsche is my meta car for this track. Going to try a few other Gr3s. Hyundai got me a win last time round so will try that again.

did you draw that yourself?

Back at some racing this week at one of my favorite tracks in the Red Bull Ring. I also did some rare for me Monday racing as I'm very familiar with this track. I set my qualifying time at a 1:30.4XX which is around the same pace as the last time this combo was around. I enter the first race and I get disconnected. So, I do some more practice and get the qualifying time down to a 1:30.3XX.

My first race finally gets under way and I'm P4 to start. First lap is all good but I get into the back of the car in front of me on lap 2 and get a 3 second penalty for it. I don't know if I missed my brake point or they held their brake longer than I thought, but I get why I got one. In the end I finish P7 and apologize to the driver I hit.

Race 2 sees me in a room with @Bullwinkle right behind me on the grid. P7 and P8 respectively. Again, the race starts ok, but on the end of lap 1 it all goes wrong for me. A driver in front of me hits another driver off track. They then stop to let them by. I thought they were up to speed and run right into the back of them. Another penalty to me this time for 2 seconds. I get why I got it, and I should have tried to avoid it better, but it's too late for that now. I finish P9 and decide to go again.

Race 3 was the calmest and nothing happens in it. In start P5 and after a spin by P4, I break away with the rest of the leaders and don't look back. I go deep to many times and I can't catch P2 and P3 who were having a nice fight for position. I finish P4 with a clean race bonus.

I'm looking forward to some more racing at the RBR tomorrow. Hopefully everyone will calm down and it will be a cleaner evening.

I have to get my qualy time to at least 1:29-1:30 ish, as these mid pack B/B B/C drivers are constantly trying to either use my Beetle as their break in corners, try to cut inside on them or just punt you if you dont let them do any of it, i have no idea how i got 2 clean races out of 3 tries today but if this is how the weeks going to go, then i definitely have to lower my time... I did a 1:31 to stay away from the front mayhem but it seems i need to stay away from that mid too this week
