That sucks. I thought all PS4 wheels were compatible with the PS5.
All officially supported PS4 peripherals are indeed compatible with the PS5:

Weird thing happened to me yesterday evening in the EU region. A daily race took about 5 minutes to load. It was like the early FIA seasons almost, where we were all just stuck in the lobby. Could this have been PD implementing a hot fix, or messing around with cross play lobbies for that specific time slot?

Has happened to me a couple times (though only on PS4, never PS5) - I'm not sure it means anything other than the servers having a blip, as much as I wish it was a hint for crossgen.

Me neither. Never have I seen this happen in a PS5 lobby

I think for the most part the Online Sport mode has gone pretty stale, and we are finding out that GT7 is just GT Sport with lackluster single player add-ons. Penalties, whether you think they work or not, are not served in a fair manner, just like before. Someone can run you off and not have to worry about serving a penalty for another lap or so, way far ahead of your stricken engine. Rolling starts with ridiculous space between cars, the same HUD from before that you can't customize, cars that don't even sound like the real thing. The worst part? We are attracted to this game that is better looking than most of driving games, but much like a receiving a flat mis-built Big Mac from McDonalds, we all just take it and think PD and Kaz are listening to us and will make the game we want eventually. Anyone else holding out for GT8 now? That's gotta be what we want right, the 8th installment should be the best one yet, am I right?
If they want to keep players interested, online will need a BIG refresh. As a gt sport vet, the online has just been a copy/ paste. I now at the point where things have gotten very stale. I moved up to A/S in gt7 rather quickly and don’t think I’ll ever reach A+. I typically qualify midfield, people hardly make mistakes, so a good race tends to be p3-p5, then up to like p10 is standard race and anything above is a bad race. I tend to win a couple of places in the hectic first two laps, but after that the race is pretty much run. Everyone in front is as fast or faster, anyone behind vice versa.
Some possible easy fixes:
1. Better BOP.
2. Make a qualify lap for every race. Now, especially towards the end of the week, people who spend ages running kamikazeactie hot laps are up front.1-2 seconds a lap faster. But once the race starts, they typically run laptimes only a couple tenths or worse faster then the rest of the field. Making a one or two lap qually session would be sooooo much better!!!

Regardless of “official status” the Thrustmaster T500RS works fine with PS4 GT7 but not with PS5. The wheel only works in game. Add on rims for the T500RS don’t work at all.

Well, more directly due to it - the T500RS is not officially supported on PS4, even though it seemingly works just fine on PS4, and is thus not officially supported on PS5.

I'm having a go at Spa this week as I like Spa and that's enough for me. I set a qualifying time of 2:31.6XX which I need to get down to avoid the problem I had in both races.

Race 1 sees me in P13 and start before the bus stop chicane so my race is over before it starts. Then I pick up am off track penalty and I'm dumbfounded the rest of the race. Another off track coming out of turn 11 an adds to my misery. Then I run wide exiting Pouhon and I think about running straight into a wall. I change my mind and pull a little drift action to get back on track. I finish where I start in P13. @Sven Jurgens was also in the room and has some post race discussion with another driver who I've had some trouble with before.

Race 2 has me in P7 but now I'm starting in the middle of the bus stop chicane. Again my race is over as I'm 4 seconds behind P6. They get a enough penalties so I can get by them on lap 2. Then I very slowly catch P5 and eventually get close when they also get a penalty for me to catch up and we have a nice race at least. I can't make a safe pass and we both gain a spot when a front runner spins and I finish P5.

So, a mixed night of racing for me. I think I need to knock the rust of not running here for a long time off and I'll be better in the next set of races.

It's quite a challenging drive in the GT-R which I was not expecting given it's Gr.4 but I'm still not sure on the racing, not much seems to be happening and I'm gaining maybe 1-2 places at best if I manage to keep it on track.

I'd recommend trying this beautiful machine:

I just tried some different cars in qualifying and unexpectedly had the most fun with the Ferrari. It handles very user-friendly, and I was only less than half a second slower than with the GT-R.

I set a 2:30.6 on spa which was good enough for consistent pole/2nd for about half a day in B/S. Already that's been pushed back into the middle of the pack most lobbies, and with the ridiculous start, this race is not fun enough to do a bunch of boring grinds to 6th-8th all week. Such a shame because I love this track.

Finding there's not too much out and out dirty driving, just lots and lots of poor driving, people taking corners flat out when side by side and understeering you off track etc.

I recommend the Viper too. Reasonably competitive in the Race, I was unfortunately the victim of many a dirty driver in my session on Monday night. Late night lobbies and awash with B/C drivers.

Not necessarily dirty on purpose, just people with poor race-craft. Many of them really fast, so it's my guess that the same lack of race-craft is the thing holding them back from progressing through the ranks.

I'm holding off setting a quali using the META, but I think it's the only way. It doesn't help when you're the only non-Nissan and somehow that relinquishes your right to your part the track.

Question? What does it mean when the car ahead of you turns on their hazard lights? Yesterday Race B after the Bus Stop the car ahead did so and appeared to slow and pull right. I passed, but then was hit by them at turn 1. Looking at the replay I don't think it was anything other than poor driving/breaking. I am a D/C ranked driver with a S SR rating. I try to be civil in the races, but I still make mistakes. I'm wondering if the hazard lights was a message other than "pass me" Thanks.

Two things:

1 - If a user pauses the game mid-race, the hazards come on as when the computer is auto-driving, it's off pace. It sounds like in this situation, that person had to pause for a little bit, but then started driving again; the hit on your at T1 was, per your info, was likely an accident. Doesn't sounds like the two things are related.

2 - I've seen people flash the hazards in saying "thanks for the clean driving." I've done this as well. Like if you go side-by-side with someone and come out ahead... or if you've been racing someone hard for the whole race and it's all been clean... I'll throw on the hazards just to convey my appreciation for their clean driving.

It now happened to me twice, that people on a penalty are visibly ghosting, but their car models arent. I crashed into them.

This game is incredibly s****y made. I cant believe this. Old GT games were SO GOOD, and this pile of s**t is useless.

But hey, take a new VGT car, willya

I bought a GT-R Nismo for this week's Race A. How can it be possible that the oil is already in "normal" conditions after just 328 km?

@Bullwinkle The idiot who divebombed you, to take your position in the last race is a British streamer named:

The dude is a massive tool. I'll do you a solid, the next time I see him. We've already got beef, anyways.
He hates TPC_Vigilante.
I didn’t realize you were there! That was a horrible lobby for me anyway. I can’t race with A and A+ drivers, and I already felt like I had a target in my back, so I wasn’t surprised by the divebomb. I’ve heard of this guy and it irks me that people just allow that kind of behavior. Except you of course!

Actually, I was pretty unimpressed with the A drivers in general, or at least the sportsmanship was not on display today. Too many people pushing me out of the way and then I’d get swamped by the train of cars following behind, leaving me on the side of the road in last place each time. I don’t know what I was even doing there to start with! Basically PD was donating all my DR points to the rest of the field each race. I had to quit before I dropped to C again!

Why are cars lagging all over the place in the daily races ? I can't remember seeing it happening at all in any dailies until this week......

Anyway positive stuff......Race A is loads of fun. I've really enjoyed trying to get to grips with a type of car (and a daily race) i would usually just avoid. The racing isn't as carnage filled as it was on Monday, going into the first corner after the start is still a bit of a lottery but even when i did get punted i just kept going. By the end of the day i was pretty dialed into the car.

I wasn't there. I saw his YouTube stream. In fact, after he shoved you out of his way, he blamed you for it.
The main reason I've got a problem with him is that he constantly belittles American drivers. He's quite superior, ya know.

I smacked him good at a couple of A races today.
I don't ever try to punt him, but if I have momentum on corner exit, and he's in the way, I aint lifting.
Zero respect

Not sure how it goes for him in Europe. I'm sure they love him. ;)

One and done at Spa this evening. It's no fun starting in the middle of the bus stop chicane. I didn't improve my time so I was P13 and way behind already. The only drivers I passed went off track and honestly I'll take what I can get. I do manage to hold the driver behind me into not passing me so that's also a win. One driver went full kamikaze going across the bus stop trying to hit someone that got me another free spot and a P9 finish.

Unless I can improve my time, I see no point in continuing at Spa this week. Absolutely no fun starting in the bus stop. Start us on the run to Eau Rouge and make it somewhat competitive. But, I still like the track just where we The dude is a massive tool. I'll do you a solid, the next time I see him. We've already got beef, anyways.

That guy complains at every little thing that doesn't go his way. Like Tom Brady levels of complaining. A used to watch him when I started GT Sport, but he got real annoying real fast.
