It's been that way for months, race A almost never counts toward your ratings.
Oh. That's bad. If you're being targeted by a crasher who doesn't like you for your nationality, he will target you for the entire week with no repercussions whatsoever. That's what's happening to me, constantly. Happens less in Race B, but still happens.
I wish flags weren't showing.

I think for the most part the Online Sport mode has gone pretty stale, and we are finding out that GT7 is just GT Sport with lackluster single player add-ons. Penalties, whether you think they work or not, are not served in a fair manner, just like before. Someone can run you off and not have to worry about serving a penalty for another lap or so, way far ahead of your stricken engine. Rolling starts with ridiculous space between cars, the same HUD from before that you can't customize, cars that don't even sound like the real thing. The worst part? We are attracted to this game that is better looking than most of driving games, but much like a receiving a flat mis-built Big Mac from McDonalds, we all just take it and think PD and Kaz are listening to us and will make the game we want eventually. Anyone else holding out for GT8 now? That's gotta be what we want right, the 8th installment should be the best one yet, am I right?

What's wrong with the sounds? Most cars sound pretty damn good now. That complaint died after GT6 when they poached the Forza sound guy for Sport.

I don’t know why anyone would think GT8 would solve anything though. PD quirks are deliberate. We've been complaining about the rolling starts online and offline since GT5. If they wanted them gone, they've had 10+ years to do it.

Wrestled a sub 1:50 out of the Citroen around Autopolis which will do for day 1, but more importantly found a nice samurai livery.

There’s a bucketload more time there once I figure out how to drive properly. Used to the Astons, Z4 and Mustang - treating it like those did not go well.

Struggling as ever with the final chicane at Spa. Not sure it’s worth even trying the race.

My quick thoughts on the races. Race A is loads of fun but quite challenging to drive that car, and maybe that's why there is lots of carnage. Race B is ruined by the rolling start, field the too spread out making it difficult to make up places. I tried other cars but sadly none can match the GTR when you get dialed into it. Race C is what it is, you probably know what i'm gonna say. Dunno why we have Autopolis again when some well know tracks have never had a Race C or a Race B or C (Laguna Seca, Alsace.....). The fuel settings are pointless, it's fairly easy to save fuel to make it through the 10laps.....its murder to pass on, it's pretty much a one make race....moan moan moan 🥵🥵🥵

Race C isn't just Porsche you can see players using other cars because of the 6x fuel , i found one car that is wonderful on this track :P

RCZ ?

the RS-01 , that thing is a Porsche killer and it has better fuel efficiency :D

I might try RCZ that could be a beast too
I just ran some qualy laps in the RS01 and I can’t get within a second of the Porsche. Is there a trick to it I don’t know?

Hmm , not really - you might try finding a replay of it

also if you are better with the Porsche then use it , this one i found since i don't really like the meta cars to use unless i have to

I seen some maniacs using the Audi R8 which i can't use :D , perharps for the wheel users only

Have they been putting oil down on the kerbs at Spa?!? Soon as I go to attack them I'm spinning all over the place.

I really like Spa but the rolling starts here are atrocious. Still went for it, at least there is not much carnage with this spread. Not sure any other car than the GTR can compete here.

Because it's a Japanese track my guess.

Yeah, one tire on the kerb and you die.

Not sure what it is about @Redneckchef but it seems like every time we’re in the same race I make a catastrophic mistake. Just raced at Autopolis. Started 3rd, was cruising well clear of p4, not pushing hard when I lost the car at the double right at the bottom of the hill. First time I’ve done that in a race. Did some stunt driving in the grass for about 20 seconds and rejoined in p12, just behind @Redneckchef . Eventually finished p8, but should have been a comfortable p3.

Apart from that race I’m enjoying Autopolis and getting really good results. Have won in the RSR and the Jag so far.

You forgot to mention the part where I drove like a 1 eyed drunkard and couldn't keep the car steady at all that race. I was all over, but only my mistakes so it's all good. Caught wheels on the grassbat least 3 times to take some wilderness excursions. Next 2 have been better, eventful, but I've been smooth and consistent enough.

Maybe I haven't raced enough on Spa in GT7 but I get something else: I get slowed down when I have the wheels on the grey part of the kerb

Before taking part in an actual Race A this week, I remembered that there is always so much aggressiveness in there. So I created a livery for my car that will bring some peace of mind and a sense of harmony to the other racers whom I meet on track, to keep them from punting, divebombing and ramming me and each other:

I'm sure this will work... :D
It may work unless you have hayfever in which case it'll rile them right up!

I didn't do any racing yesterday and won't have much time to do any this week at all. Did some quali laps on C with the best of 46.1 in the Porsche. Tried some other cars (Ferrari, Lambo, Evo) but couldn't touch the Porsche time. Definitely not where I would want it to be... I don't particularly care for this track

Every time I see the Citroen, I can't decide it's ugly or cool looking.

Unfortunately the dash view is horrendous and borderline unplayable so I only ever gave it that one run to check it out.

god help us if it becomes the meta

Probably why only 60 people signed up for Citroen for the GTWS, across all 3 levels - that and the MRs being a bit rubbish at the beginning.

Hopefully when I take it for an actual race, people will be distracted by its sheer ugliness in their rear view mirror and spin off.

Yeah complete waste of time trying anything but the GTR at Spa. I will never understand PD's refusal to fix low hanging fruit like the rolling start at Spa, it's like they purposely want the game to be rubbish, i just don't get it.

As always at Spa, I am very, very slow through the left hander before Pouhon, absolutely no idea how guys hammer through there so fast. I am also struggling through Pouhon with the GTR, if I attack it the BB is too far to the rear and she slides, if i go easy i give up too much time. On the flip side, making great time through the Malmedy section.

Random question. What time of day do you usually race at? I rarely see anyone from here, but would like to. I suspect it is because I tend to race later in the evening. (7pm-3am PST) somewhere between those times more or less?🍻

Enjoying and having good success on Race A. Balancing the car correctly through corners is essential. I shift early before turning into a corner in order to get the car set right, otherwise I will be all over the place. I really think this car/track combination is fantastic, because the car does give your different options in terms of how you approach the corners.

If the guy I just raced is here called "Chicken". What a battle mate! Quality racing. A little contact at the end but otherwise just good racing.

Also sport mode doesn't mix PS4 and PS5 users so even if you are on at the exact same time at the same DR level you won't see anyone on the other system. There are people (e.g. streamers) I would really like to race in dailies but they are all on PS5 and I'm stuck on PS4 Pro. Even some of the drivers I saw often after GT7 release and enjoyed racing against are now on PS5. I want to upgrade but wheel not compatible so it'll be a huge investment... I guess I'll have to make eventually unless PD manages to change this... the driver pool is getting ever thinner so I'm hoping it's something that might happen and save me the $$ for now. I'm honestly happy with the setup and don't really need the upgrade for any other reaseon.

That sucks. I thought all PS4 wheels were compatible with the PS5.
