On a side note, has anyone noticed the water level goes up and down as you move off a dry line to the wet? Has this always been there?
Yeah, it's nothing new... Noticed it when Spa 60 min. went online. Curbs are extra slippery.

Haven't actually done any races this week aside from Race A, but did a few laps earlier and managed to set a 51.443 as my race B time, which is ranked in the 200s somewhere!

Feel like I probably should've put that pace to good use lol. Spa next week shall be a fun one though, and certainly one I'll race.

Are you sure? This is the only reason you'd get the one-minute post-race penalty.

Could you provide screenshots/video of the issue?
Nah I didn't take any. Just wanted to see what you guys thought. Thanks for the feedback. I think race ç this week is just a head****.

I might do Race A a bit but GT Sport has a daily monthly race at Tokyo Expressway Central Outer Loop/Clockwise which is my best track that is barely used in 7 so I will probably focus on that.

I'm gonna be one of the odd ones out who is enjoying Autopolis so far. Gives me a chance to bring out my ugly duckling dark horse: Citroen GT. I've been able to cruise fairly solid laps at low 48s and mid to high 47s while saving plenty of fuel. And it handles once you learn the gearbox. As far as I'm concerned it beats attempting to battle against the Spa chicane lottery in race B.

Just got to avoid binning it on the downhill right at Autopolis on the last lap. Done it twice and threw away a p3 and a win. Only lost 1 spot each time, but when you've got a 9 second lead and weren't pushing its really embarrassing.

Is that turn 12? I have trouble there, not just in the Citroen. Seem to run wide onto the grass at least once a race.
Haven't got the hang of fuel saving yet (and don't enjoy it) so giving the race a miss, will just do some practice laps.

Yeah, that's the one. Both times it was a little wiggle on the inside curb that just slid me wide enough to touch a wheel on the grass. If you drive manual transmission the citroen is easy, shift when the bar gets over your speed reading. Usually have a half lap left at the end, no FM messing about.

I'll also add that I noticed I could hear the engines of the other cars if we were on different sections of track that were physically close to each other. Even if you couldn't see the other cars. Especially noticeable with the Mazda. That's pretty cool.

Looks like A is a GTR fest (I kid, I kid); B is a GTR fest; and C is a Porsche fest.

YAWN

Not upset I won't have much time to play this week.
HAHA GTR fest

Ive not done daily races for a fair few weeks now.
GT4 I've not raced for a long time as the BOP is just broken for that category.
GT3 its good to see MR cars now in the mix, but this is now starting to follow GT4 route in that its becoming a one make race.
GT2 is just the Nissan every combo.
GT1 race was ruined last week at Fuji with the Hybrid saving.

I see that Daily Race B has crazy field spread at the race start. P10 onwards and you are 15+ seconds behind already. Actually no point in racing daily b if you P10 onwards as you'll never catch up

Race A is good fun - at least driving that heavy machine around the track in qualifying.

Race B as expected. I'll try if the G70 can at least keep up with the GTRs.

For Race C I'm just too slow in the Porsche. I hope that someday there will be a Gr3 race again where the Ford GT is competitive.

Apologies for the late article on this one - it simply wouldn't save or publish, so I wrote something else instead and that worked fine. I've come back to the article and discovered a totally bizarre issue with it that makes so little sense I can't even. Now I think it works, but I can't publish two things so close to one another, so it'll be about an hour from now.

This week its B for boring, I didn't qualify and started from the back on Race B, this meant I was about 18 seconds behind p1, seems like a reasonable amount of time to catch up in 4 laps
Race C looks like it will just be a possession, fuel saver plus dirty air equals a stagnant race.
Worse week for some time.

Haven't you both had enough training for this scenario from the career mode? This is why Kaz designed it like that. :D

What is career mode? I play GT7 because I like to race online against real players not Kaz's bots.
It can't be that hard to make Race B a grid start?

I thought I liked BOP because it keeps things "fair" for everyone and it does but it's not fun or exciting. The most fun I've had so far in daily races was a couple weeks ago at Monza with the 12 different cars I tried to tune and race with mixed results. I thought I wouldn't like doing that but it was so much fun trying to get my F12 dialed in to beat the ZR1's and when I finally did it cleanly it was very rewarding. More rewarding than beating an entire field of Porches or GT-R's. I always try to use a non meta car but once you get past a certain level you can't touch the other cars no matter how good you are.

I know people complain that these races become a one-make race, but, didn't Mercedes win the F1 Constructor's trophy for like 8 years in a row? #therealdrivingsimulator ;)

The same is true of WRC and WEC races... So, there's some reality there.

But maybe if all the races are turning into one-make races, they should just make them one-make races so it's an even playing ground from the start? 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I really enjoyed the early days when the online modes still used PP limitations. With the right tuning, the Ferrari 458 was actually a viable option, if you can believe that. It helped build a relationship with the car, too, as I spent a lot of time tuning it to my preferences and learning how it reacts in certain circumstances. However, I do like the convenience and the press-button-to-race nature of BoP but it'd be great if they managed a finer balance between the cars.
That said, not really feeling any of the combos this week but will try my luck with Race A for once. My qualifying time in the Nismo is absolute trash at the moment, though.

4 Wide into turn 1 with a car that has no brakes haha!

Thanks a lot for the guide!!
Jesus Christ that GT-R Nismo drives like an elephant (and has the shape of a brick). Worse than I remembered. That's why I never bought it in GT7 before this week's Race A.

I mean yes? But the entire field wasn't just driving a duplicate of the Mercedes F1 (except Racing Point that 1 year :P), so it's not really the same thing. The same there goes for WRC and WEC. The winner might be the same, but the field is varied and the pack racing is always fun to watch.

The races in Sport becoming one-makes is sad because of the variety that could be there. You have all of these Gr.3 and Gr.4 cars and yet 90% of races include everybody using the same one, maybe with 1 or 2 exceptions. I don't mind a one make by design, Race A is fantastic and races like the Radical Cup or MX5 cup in real life are also fun to watch. Again it's just a shame to be missing out on what could be there.

It's why I like the Manufacturers Cup so much. The grids are always varied because most people sign for different manufacturers. I'm sure PD could implement a similar incentive into daily races, such as implementing a manufacturer ranking that rewards you specifically for doing well in your chosen manufacturer, so people are encouraged to spread out what they drive to get better rewards (e.g. you are more likely to get a good reward for representing Ferrari if less people are driving it) but quite frankly that is complicated to introduce and this is PD so they will not do anything to improve it anyway lol.

Before taking part in an actual Race A this week, I remembered that there is always so much aggressiveness in there. So I created a livery for my car that will bring some peace of mind and a sense of harmony to the other racers whom I meet on track, to keep them from punting, divebombing and ramming me and each other:

I'm sure this will work... :D
