I don't dispute the track limit penalties, I went far wide on purpose as I was expecting the car struggling on the kerbs to come veering my way any moment. Second one I wanted to stay away from the rubbing. The amount and the inconsistency is annoying though. 1.5 sec is 4 sec loss on the straight and more severe than what people get for punting a car off...

Plus lots of people keep cutting T2 by a huge amount who you then have to avoid as they rejoin the track in T3. No penalties for that.
I hate that when I avoid caos on T5 I get a penalty for going off track and then when I get hit from behind on that same turn no penalties are given.

I did it again. 4 race Bs with bad oil until I realised what was happening. It’s a killer at interlagos because that last left turn up the hill you just lose so much time with weak acceleration, I thought I was just getting a bad exit! Unfortunately it meant I was getting hit, and I was hitting people because it seems to just slightly affect braking and handling. It’s weird; it’s a subtle hit to performance that adds up across the lap.
That is just asinine, what an absolute waste of our time, we gotta keep an eye on this now? Like really on all cars? I don't have the words to describe how lame this is.

Sport Mode and the GT Auto/single player side of the game are incompatible and steps need to be taken to ensure a level playing field and get rid of the caRPG garbage online. Sport Mode is an eSports platform and without balance, eSports dies. None of the major sims (AC, ACC, rF2, iR, AMS2...) have a car maintenance mini-game in them like GT7 does.

Any car entered in Sport Mode should automatically be excluded from any oil, engine or chassis effects stemming from the single-player side of the game. Also, all tire compounds should be provided when entered in Sport Mode.

Keep traditional GT in single-player. That crap has no place in eSports. It's preposterous that people are losing races on an eSports platform because they forgot to change their oil.

EDIT FOR CLARITY: I am not speaking out against tuning in Sport Mode, just the maintenance side of GT Auto.

either they should ignore oil condition for sport mode or at the very least make changing it available in the pre race settings.
What sort of pit box can’t change the cars oil anyways? I’d have to think that can be done IRL pretty easily. 🤔

Yep and you can't even see the status of your car unless you back out to go to the garage. Just dumb.
Power loss starts at about 500km into an oil change.

Makes sense. I have to change oil after every 3h endurance race on N24 which is a bit over 500 km :)
Too bad you can't change oil in the pit for an actual 24h endurance race. The oil is gonna be gone after 4,000 km!

Got my directions just in case

Or at least tell us it needs changing so we know! I didn’t even know it was a thing the first time it happened until I saw Kie25 changing oil after every race. Second time is on me but I never touch anything in single player so I just don’t even think about it.

Too bad they don't have sponsorship story line in the game. Like reach a certain level and get free Penzoil for life, or Brembos or Michelins. In Manu the cars come with sponsor decals, you should get those sponsors for the Series.

haha this game is not about to start giving us anything for free, but come on, charge me double or triple for a mobile mechanic to change the oil at the track I don’t care!!!

Is there a technical/connection reason why everything is fine in qualifying, but in the race my braking and steering is significantly worse?
The whole room kept switching between green and yellow levels of connection. Is it really affecting my steering that much?

Also I won't even start on how no penalties are given to the perpetrator anytime anyone pushes me into the grass...
(Penalties -received 3s because I got punted off. 0.5s because of track limits, from being punted off, and then 1s because as I unghosted from those 3.5s, a car behind slammed into my rear) This is utter nonsense. These people shoving everyone off somehow retain SR S?! Mine dives to a C. I hate it here.

There’s fuel and tyre wear in Race B which aren’t in play in qualifying. I’m not sure how the fuel works in qualy regards to weight. Also dirty air is quite a big factor In race. If you’re out front feels a bit smoother.

Yea so i may ne wrong here but during qualifying i dont know if tire wear/heating is on. Because after about 3 laps in the actual race my grip and braking is much more what im used to during qual.

As for penalties...sometimes they take a good while to come up. Sadly most people that do get pushed in a sandpit or whatever end up pulling the plug anyway =/

I’m pleased there are contact penalties but they are open to abuse. I have found brake checking to be increasingly common now.
i dont think that many people intentionaly brake check.. I know i get hit from the back alot on certain corners at interllagos just because of the way i enter those tight corners is a bit inside out and most people just arent used to anything except a normal driving line.. However im sure there is a few people doing it intentionally as theres alot of peoppe who play sport it seems just to ruin others races smh

True, hard to know. I hit someone yesterday at the tight left after the senna s and they went deep so I waited for them to regain control and carry on and I got a 5 second penalty. It’s immensely frustrating. I think I‘d rather have that than no penalties for sure though. Hopefully they can refine it.

yeah it is a bit brutal that if you rear end someone and they stay on track its perfectly fine no penalty, but if they go off the track they hit you with the massive 5 sec penalty.. Against any decent player in a decent car you cant make that up you just have to hope someone else makes a mistake too haha..I think my biggest issue with sport mode is though in 4 hours of sport this morning i made less than 100k with multiple wins fastest laps and pole positions, There basicly making you choose to play sport or to make credits but not both ever !!!

Yup. In my last race of the night I'd managed the Herculean task of cleanly getting up to 1st from 8th on the grid. Another car dive bombed me on the last lap and pushed me off into the sand. I finished 3rd, they didn't receive a penalty at all and finished 2nd. Another person at the right place at the right time by-passed us both during that mess to take the win. At least my SR recovered a bit.
Outside of that, so much brake checking and dive bombing, and the people who do it almost never faced consequences - it's generally the victims who get a penalty. I had NEVER finished last before in Sport Mode through years of GT Sport, until tonight, twice, because of unfair penalties and constantly being mashed into the distance. Seems the play is to dive bomb or ram, punt someone off, and as the perp recovers they cross briefly onto the grass when exiting the corner, and oh look the victim gets a penalty.

I've been nervous to re-enter Sport Mode after how bad it got in GT Sport when the penalty system decided to allow anything. It's not much better. I think part of the issue tonight was my DR rating was among the higher in the race, so it seemed to feel like I was being held to a higher standard and punished for everything. I literally got a 3 second penalty because as I was exiting a corner hugging the inside line avoiding going near anyone else, a car came back from the grass from the outside and hit me side-on directly in the door. It made zero sense to penalise me for it.

Another aspect of brake checking... so many users maybe aren't specifically doing it, they just simply don't know how to take a correct line or when to brake. In some corners tonight I was braking earlier than everyone else, but that was in order to take the line properly and get a faster exit. So many seem to brake as late as possible and make a mess at the outside. It was a problem on GT Sport too. So many people can't cope with (or don't care to learn) the bendy section of Interlagos, the second half of Autopolis, the last part of Fuji, etc., and brake in all the wrong places... which makes trying to work out what they're going to do and where they'll go hard to predict.

I tried a few Interlagos races on ps5 and ps4, both dirty, nvm. Yesterday was all right on ps4, then I 'advanced' to DR.B. Today it's dive bombs, cutting me off, not leaving room, forcing me into a "ignoring track limits" penalty and brake checks. Can't undo my qualifying time unfortunately. Never again, qualifying just isn't worth it until PD fixes this crap.

I did a couple race B yesterday. I'm actually liking Interlagos a lot more in GT7, it feels better. I'm driving the Viper SRT which handles nicely on Interlagos. However despite being in SR.S, races are often messy and passes often rewarded with a penalty.

I saved all he penalties I got yesterday and one where I should have got a penalty but didn't

Also 2 ignoring track limit penalties in there, I go wide to avoid trouble but that's 1.5 or 1.0 sec penalty.

Hey, I'm in that video lol .. didn't expect to see my name when watching haha

What's up guys? Just found this forum and wanted to pop in and say whats up! Lots of good information in here and im excited to shoot the **** about all these daily races with ya'll.

So far I've been sticking with race B and it's been a mixed bag depending on the lobbies (I'm B/S rated)! Once I improved my qualiy time and started top 1-5, I've avoided a lot of the BS... and it seemed that most races myself or the top 3-4 guys would just pull away from the field very early on and have a battle amongust ourselves. So my strat is def going to be to grind fro good Q times.. but thanks to you guys, I feel like I can improve even more because I haven't changed my oil once smh lol. Sitting at a 133.5xx in the RCZ currently but hoping to improve on that...

Should I be doing an oil change between every race or just ever few races? Appreciate it, guys and looking forward to contributing a little more to these forums!

I can't afford the RCZ and it is ugly as hell but I used the Renault and Porsche for qualifying for Race B. They both handle very well but I think the Porsche might be faster for me. I really suck at Interlagos, though, and can't break the 33s for the life of me.

Edited 34 to 33.

I like Interlagos but too often it‘s a divebomb party,no matter the“S“ Ratings. My Q time is not the best unfortunately so i never start from p 1-5.

Someone bombed me and got a 3 second penalty which put off everyone else behind lol. I got my qualy down to 1.32.18 but it just feels completely different in race and struggle to hit 33s.
