I'm thinking maybe I need to brake earlier and more to the right, and then accelerate into the flat part of that turn and into the exit? Any suggestions?
that's the right way. Brake hard, release and coast along the curb on the left then get on the throttle fully.

I wait as long as I can before I turn in, but it is nerve-wracking every time because sometimes it's too late so I have to slow down
Try turning on corner markers for a few laps of qualifying, turn at the moment your bumper comes to the marker on the left.

2 more races for me with bad results. Both races had circumstances out of my control so I can't be too mad with where I finished.

Race 1 has me in P8 to start and I forgot to switch to the medium tire to start. But it didn't matter as in lap 1 I was the victim of one car causing a chain reaction where I got punted along with another driver. So, race was effectively over from there. The worst part was that I was in P3 at the time of the incident. To add insult to injury, I hit the wall entering the pits. TWICE apparently and I rack up 3 seconds of penalties. I just turn laps and finish P10.

Race 2 has me in a stacked room with a bunch of A+/A drivers so I was outclassed from the start. I also started P10 where I start dead in the middle of the last part of the chicane. I don't hit any walls this time, but I was way off the pace. Again, I just turn laps and try not to cause trouble. I finish P11 in the end.

Not a good afternoon for me results wise. Oh well, it happens and I can't complain about it. I still like the combo however as Spa is a great track to race on.

HEre's a good exampel of a guy taking the right line, he is chasing me. Now these are group 4 cars so it is easier but it is the same line.

Go to 11 minute mark to see turns 15 and 16. I appear to take the right line too and don't muff it.

Are you ranked as a B driver? I think I was in that race with you. I started P11 and was up to P3 by
the 2nd lap with all the carnage going on. Ran P3 until the last lap when I got a little sideways coming out of T1 and got spun, finished P5.

I dunno what I did different, or if the Supra is just that much easier to control and get on the power/ride curbs than the Skyline but I dropped my qualifying time from a 2:18:0xx to a 2:16:0xx almost 2:15. I find it incredibly easier to get on the power earlier as well as being more manageable on the curbs through 7-8-9 and again through 19-20

I hear it's harder on the tires than the Skyline is but I think I'm going to race the supra tonight.
I got close to a 2:17 with both Ford GT Test Cars but omg do those want to murder you in any low speed corner so they're right out even if I think they're probs as fast.

The Supra is the easiest car to drive in GT7 but due to the understeer it absolutely EATS front tyres. Especially the way I drive, I am very tough on the front end.

Question about DR. I know this has been discussed before, but I have a specific example to ask about. Consider this starting grid:
1668634493900.png

I'm a low B, most people above me are A's, and everyone after me is a B (16 cars total). Is there any way to guestimate how high I need to finish to not lose DR? I know it depends on the "numerical" value of each driver's rating which we can't see, but I was just wondering if I could have a target finish in mind. Not that it matters, because of course I want to finish as high as I can, but still, I was wondering, since there are so many A's in front of me.
B is an Alfa fest, no thanks.
There are people doing quite well with the WRX, and there's even a G70 on the leaderboard.
If they are hitting you then their anticipation is rubbish and they'll likely hit you anyway.
I'll be sure to use harsh language to protect my backside, then. But I get your point, of course. Thanks.

Gotta love those fully walled tracks. I started at the back of race A, and was being careful not to touch any wall or cars.
Then, my race ended in the blink of an eye.
I didn't do anything to anyone, and ended up dead last, with 3 wall penalties, and a damaged car.
Here's how it happened. :ouch:

I'm not sure what my price is to get me to play a daily with walls everywhere but I know it's more than PD can afford

Its like there aren't enough players participating in that Race, so players with different ranks are put together in the same lobby to make sure there is still some competition. Racing with folks with higher DR than yourself will make it easier to improve your DR if you have a decent result in the top half of the lobby.
What's your rating?

The time of day matters. If it's off-peak hours you'll get a mixed bag. I tend to race very early in the morning and I get the craziest mixes. I've also found that when I transition from A to B, or from B to A, I get one or two races in what feels like a random lobby. Although I think it's probably coincidence, now I can't stop thinking about your suggestion that it's a "test" to see if you deserve the new ranking. This week may not be the best testing ground for me, though, because I had a really really bad day Monday and became a problem to myself and everyone around me on the track!

But mostly I think it's the time of day. For example, I don't race in the afternoons anymore because that's when all the kids get out of school and come looking to kill me! Maybe if I raced in a plain white van with no windows and "Free Candy" signs they'd stay away from me?
Yeah I guess today was maybe a slow day and will have been the time day. It’s just seemed to be that when I was 3/4 full in DR B I was matched with SR S, then as I got closer to DR A the SR seemed to go down. Sometimes when I can play early afternoons you can get some very closely matched lobbies in Europe but today was all over the place.
To be fair, the majority in my races that did have a lower rating, actually raced clean and fair. I’m wonder if some of these are on a SR reset.
@Bullwinkle my rating is B/S on my accounts.

As for Daily C, Lexus is my vehicle of choice. P9 start with a 2.16.5 and managed to bring it home in P3. Supra is great on the straights but I’m losing too much time in the corners with it, where as the Lexus it goes round corners well and allows you get good exits so you don’t loose too much time to the Supras. Also through Raidillion & Eau Rouge the Lexus just sticks to the ground and rides these corners so well that you can gain a bit of time from the faster cars and not lose too much speed down the Kemmel Straight

Strange little "glitch": I tried different cars at Spa, (quickest is indeed the Silhouette so far, although I just don't "feel" it how to drive that cardboard box). When I took the Ford GT '18, which went very nicely at Monza, the game just wouldn't let me in, because allegedly I don't have the necessary tires. Which isn't true, I even bought the intermediate and wet tires. Nope. No access...

Okay, then the Mustang instead...
Sounds like you need to go into the car settings menu on the race sign in page and manually switch your tires to RM/RS. If your car is equipped with RH ( even if you own the other compounds) it doesn’t let you enter. Also if for some reason it still doesn’t let you, you can always rent the car🍻 btw when renting it always has the softer tire compound. Remember that if you want to start the actual race on RM. 🍻

Finish ahead of any B drivers at least. You'll loose less to the A's by finishing behind them but gain more by beating them.

Ha, that looks so familiar. Did a bunch of races A today, most of which had me collecting 5 sec. penalties along the way, learning how to navigate that twitchy Sturk-tuned Cayman around the track in a, let's say, crowded environment.

Until finally I had one of my best and most fun races ever, dogfighting with an A+ driver in an F40 for the win during the entire race. Got him on the final back straight (I'm good through the esses😆), only to throw the win away seconds later after the last turn, when I got too early on the throttle before having the car properly straightened out, and had massive wheelspin. Barely avoided a 360. P2 in the end, okay.

At least I collected a lot of pole positions today.🥳😆

All in all, I had a blast in the concrete canyons.

Nope, I tried that, didn't work. No biggie though, lots of cars to choose from. Cheers. 🍻

There used to be an easier way to tell in GTSport - the door numbers were ordered by DR (sort of, because 3000 would be before 29000) but we don't have that in GT7. I guess beat all the B drivers would be a good start. I'm A+ and my DR doesn't seem to go anywhere unless I beat other A+ drivers

I wish there was a way to choose change tyres if you accidentally hit 'no change' 😭 I had to do another lap to avoid the penalty.

Next race I managed to spin in the pit entry, so got reset back on the start-finish straight. Had been on for P2 or P3 in that race 🙄

On the plus side, I got down to a 2:15.3 in the Corvette. I may have bettered it on the next lap... 0.4 up, but ran wide out of turn 16.

I figured out something new today. Swap the custom wing for the standard one.
The custom has a 240 minimum, but the standard can go way lower. I set a faster lap by putting it at 225.
The car rotates better, and has a bit more speed. 👍

I wish I had thought of it at Fuji last week. :irked:

Is there a way to report players in GT7 online? Like there was for GT sport.. not sure if it did anything.

Was have a close race for 3rd, and a random car sent me into oblivion, no attempt at braking for the hair pin. I dont even care about my postion, I was just having a really close race with the 4th place car, trading position for 3rd place for 3 laps. Wanted to see how it would end in a clean race, but this random guy interrupted the race.
Sigh

Well finished my first race at Sport mode last night, it was at the Maggiore West track where you had to run 6 laps, I finished 12th which I was not pleased about and only got a measley 12k in cash. That's a lot of effort for just a little bit of pay(credits). I'm just not qucik enough in trying to set a low time and beat the other top drivers, it's making me irritable!

Yep I'm in B rank and was in the black Mustang with orange stripes down the side. Is your name here the same on PSN? I'll keep an eye out and give a hello next time.

Yep it's the same. I was in the Jack Daniels Mustang (Black and Red)

I don't think any one runs these races for the cash..... It's ALL about the competition.

We met in a race A yesterday, didn't we?

You mean, it turns its rear even quicker? On that two meters wide track between all these barriers? Oh boy...😬

I have to try that out asap.🤣

A Merc didn’t win that race did it? If so, I was in the Merc!

Odd night at Spa, mostly good guys to race but then you get the odd nutter who tries to force a pass where it is really not on. A lack of courtesy from two drivers too, one accidently nerfed me into T1, fine, but then didn't wait for me which is just rude. Then another guy who i think was a bit steamed up as he was nerfed off earlier by another driver, anyways he was blocking me really badly, so very late moves to a defensive line and then swings back last mili-second to the racing line.......... like buddy i am going to clean you up if you do that....... and I did.

Lots of niggle up front as some run softs to escape the mob, other still run mediums and get in one's way. I have very strong pace, just a few mistakes creep in but I am regularly fighting for wins in A rooms.

You mean, it turns its rear even quicker?
Yes. Reducing the rear downforce basically makes it feel more balanced. With the rear set to 240, the front would have to be around 200 just to stop the understeering. But having it that high, takes away speed. If you can lower them both equally, you can maintain balance and increase speed.
I'm gonna see how low they can go, while still being able to handle the turns.
