Yes. Reducing the rear downforce basically makes it feel more balanced. With the rear set to 240, the front would have to be around 200 just to stop the understeering. But having it that high, takes away speed. If you can lower them both equally, you can maintain balance and increase speed.
I'm gonna see how low they can go, while still being able to handle the turns.
That goes along with my experiences in the opposite direction: I increased the downforce a bit, to see if I could go faster through the turns without losing too much speed on the straights. It made the rear feel a bit more stable at first, but led to it suddenly snapping on me. Well, a cayman, what did I expect?😆

I think some of the snap oversteer is initiated by bumps. I ended up lowering my rear damping expansion to let the tires stay in contact, seemed to work.

Tried the lower downforce wing, and lowered the downforce a lot in the rear and the front.
But now the car starts steering left on its own under braking on the first turn.
Brought the brake balance forward, and increased downforce a bit to help fix it bit.
Adjusted the gearing, and the top speed increased quite a bit along with the lower down force.

Did that tune help at all, or was it pretty close to what you already had?
I have not tried it. Your tunes terrify me...lol. You are softer on springs and then biased loose with ride height and downforce.

I might try the wing thing. I would like to go lower, but cant right now without messing up my bias.

I've had a few run ins with this guy in the past and he always says the same thing when I ask why he wrecks me "because you're a dirty blocker"

Just last week at Monza he did the same thing, and I did make a defensive move. From a rolling start going into Turn 1 he was in my slip and caught me (I wasnt in meta car) right before T1. He said in after chat "the road is wide enough for 3" Dude wanted to go 3 wide into chicane 1 at Monza! Later he PITs me as i was passing him on a straight.

Then today this happened:

I dont even see him behind me on T1, I'm focused on the car in front, and not going off track with inside wheels when coming out of a corner.

His normal paint job has "HiT mE = I hIt U" on the back bumper.

Next race I'm in, he was in front and slams on breaks on T1 Apex so I get a 2 second penalty. That was first time I had been near him.

A bit late as this was last weeks race at Monza. It was the first time in a while I got to race online for a decent amount. Monza was a lot of fun. I had some close races and finishes. These are some of the my highlights. I shop eco get back out here more.

Easily one of the most frustrating things in this game that annoys me no end. I get that I just missed the last race start but come on, half an hour before I can do the race I want to do?

Do PD think I'm made of free time? You're telling me there's not another 15 people who would do this race right now? Come on guys.

The other half wants to use the TV. The toddler wants to run into furniture. I got this little break here and it's ruined, rahhh!!

I'm digging the tuning aspect of Daily A for the last few months (un-ranked doesn't bother me either way, apart from the repetitive lobbies becoming a problem sometimes), but there's an itch that needs scratching...

I wish they would prohibit the use of a power restrictor just ONCE, so that the onus would be on tuning-up rather than tuning-down the cars involved. It kinda sucks seeing a bunch of neutered Ferraris and Lambos dueling it out with hairdresser's cars.

Probably the most frustrating thing for me when I do a week of race C’s. I think it’s ridiculous that I have to have the game sitting there for up to 30 minutes sometimes.

I wonder if implementing a standard tire SIZE would work? I suspect the reason the super cars and other near super cars (e.g. the cayman) have the advantage over the older or lower performance cars is tire size. I have nothing to back this up, but it seems logical. The 90's japanese cars are great examples; they had narrow tires OEM.

Taking a break because I'm ticked off, and I drive lousy when I'm mad. In my last race in daily race b, on the last lap the guy behind me bins me at turn 2, dropping me from, I don't know, maybe P5 to P13. I asked him why he did it, and he said I started it. So I watched the replay, and the incident he's talking about is when we were side-by-side on T1, with me on the outside, and I lost a little traction and wobbled a little. Yes, I hit his car a little bit, but he recovered just fine and didn't lose position or anything. People need to learn the difference between unintentional contact and intentional. Trust me - if I intentionally wanted to hit him, he wouldn't have ended up having a chance to hit me, that's for sure.

Blood's still boiling. Guess I need to take some more time to regroup.

I think tire pressure should be adjustable.

Time to get another TV. They're pretty cheap nowadays.

Looked like the only dirty driver there was them. Sorry you have to deal with idiots like that.

Had a good race today at Spa. P13 up to P6 by dint of staying out of trouble. Made some good overtakes too, including this one around the outside of the first part of Fagne.

Worked for me... kind of.

I drove some ten or so laps with less rear downforce, but couldn't quite handle it in the canyon section. Always touched a wall or lost the rear end a bit. If not, I was too slow.

Then I switched back to 240 rear downforce, and with the added practice in car control I improved my time by around two tenths. Back up to P67. I'm not finished with this one, gonna attack the top 50 tomorrow...😎

T1, I assume you are the car in 10th place. On the exit of the corner, either you lost control or tried drafting the car in front.
The car behind you had a good run at T1, but then on the exit you drove to the outside blocking them. The contact happens at 14 seconds in to the video. It might have been unintentional on your part, but they might consider it dirty.

Their actions at the end of the lap to knock you out were way over the top, and definitely not warranted.

I am not sure if you use the mini radar or not, but instead of seeing the whole map, you should switch to the mini radar that gives a zoomed in view of the space around your own car, and lets you see the placement of cars behind you. Also look at the time delta between you and the cars behind you to see if there is potential for someone to make contact.

Again, you didn't deserve what happened at the end, seems like this other driver has lots of practice being dirty, they didn't lose much time and almost pit you perfectly.

I don't think it helps that the minimum weight seems unusually low. I recall getting a decent enough time with my 2JZ-swapped GR Yaris despite being about 200lbs above the minimum weight, too. That said, it does seem that the leaderboards are much more diverse than last week's Daily Race A at Fuji, where it was pretty much just the Cayman GT4. (I still did my best using a Coyote-swapped Pantera.)

Anyway, I think the reason why you're seeing so many Ferraris and Lamborghinis is because they're able to get to that really low minimum weight. I would've personally set it to like, 2500lbs or something. Not barely over 2200 like it is here.

A few laps in the DBR9 @ Spa quali earlier... It's not the fastest car by any means but it's a really nice drive and should be pretty consistent for the 8 lap race 👍

The Toms Castrol was pretty consistent also just a tad slower over the lap. I always try to avoid the OP car to disguise how slow I am over the lap

I found the Nissan Skyline GT500 '99 is pretty darn quick too. I'm not hitting the 170 down Kemmel like I can in the Supra or the SSS but I'm hitting comparable speeds in all the other relevant sections and I feel quicker through the corners than I do in the SSS. All 3 of them eat their fronts though. I can coax the SSS to do 5 laps on Softs. The Supra and the GT500 though I'd recommend doing no more than 4 as you lose your fronts completely before the last lap is half done.

That said I'm having great success leapfrogging into the top 5, sometimes top 3 if I pit end of lap 3 instead of end of lap 4 so I'm still trying to make it work.

Finally managed a tidy race in race B and got my total race time under 8 minutes in the 155. Now to see if I can do the same in the other cars....

I can be the same with people who do blatant take out moves....there's a guy in our region who's B B (probably B C now) who has a really good race B qualifying time, but is terrible during the race, binning people left right and centre. I gave him a chance and raced him clean (just followed really), passed him on lap 8 when he crumbled under pressure and ran wide.....then he punted me at full noise at turn 1 on the last lap.

In my post race anger, I let him know that I'll be ruining his race every time I see him until he learns respect and apologises. (I did keep my promise, and gently put him in the sand the next 3 races....)

I've been having success lately putting pressure on the driver ahead of me like that as well. I'm not quite fast/skilled enough to pass faster guys normally but I am fast enough to make them feel some amount of pressure and then when they run wide/bin it I'm there to take advantage.

Do these idiots actually get any enjoyment out of the game by purposely going out to destroy peoples races? I actually don’t get it?

You did nothing wrong in that clip. T1 the yellow curb gave you a slow exit but you did wrong, the idiot behind you should have been paying more attention. And the final corner again you did nothing wrong.

Nah the worst for me is when you do those short 7-8 mins race on Daily A or B and you then have to wait 10 mins to start the next lobby.
That Ford GT oval race at Daytona was the worst. A quick 7-8 min race followed by 12 mins waiting in the lobby. Also if you was involved in a first lap crash you just wasted 12mims waiting around for 20seconds of racing to then wait another 15 mins for the next race to come around.

Had a fascinating revelation on the race b track a little while ago. I've been racing the 155, and I tried the WRX a few times but it seemed squirrelly to me. But today I noticed the QT leaderboard was showing more and more WRXs, so I decided to give the WRX another try.

I watched a couple of the leaders' replays, then attempted to put their tactics into practice. My QT with the 155 is 53.048. I haven't beaten it yet with the WRX, but virtually every single lap I do where I don't get a penalty is in the 53 second range. Even the laps where I think "Well, I totally messed that lap up" still have decent times.

So for me, I'm much more consistent with the WRX, especially in races. And I know it's just a matter of time before I break into the 52's.

So if you haven't tried the WRX, do what I did and watch some QT laps, then give it a go. It takes a little getting used to, but it has great potential, and in the long run may be more forgiving than the 155. Good luck!

Oh yeah. I learned that playing GTA5 online. Minding my own business, and doing tasks, then someone destroys everything you have just for the fun of it.
You have to mute the chat in that game. Imagine if our daily races had the same setup, where everybody in the lobby was in a chat. Things would get out of hand really quickly.

@BruceAlmighty Go to the qualifying leaderboard before entering. There you will have the option to view replay.

Just a **** day today at Spa. Started in pole and was fine but ended up losing control at the first high speed chicane. Was still in first and then lost control at the stupid sweeping turn which I just dont understand. Still kept going and swapped tires now in like...11th place. Ended up finally spinning out again for the third time on the last turn before the last straight. Drove terribly, bumped people, just blah. Annoyed. I still get nervous during the races and don't know how to not get nervous. Just race more?

Yes, I find just racing more helps I'm always nervous when racing on my main account, but after a few races it fades away -
Saying that yesterday I'd done a few races on my alt account and decided to run a few on the main account - started in second place with a 13.3 quali time - Lap 2 the leader disconnects in front of me on a fast part of the track, I swerve to miss him and the guy behind does too and goes of the track - I then get a 3 sec penalty for 'forcing another car off the track'- I drop to 12th after serving it, so think I'll come in on lap 3 to put the softs on and try and recover - as I'm coming out of the pit I see a splash of green on the left of the screen - I've only gone and accidentally clicked on Intermediates! :ouch: those final 5 laps were painfully slow - I finished last almost 20 seconds behind the next guy :banghead:

Normally that should help. Just getting used to the situation by repetition, making it feel like routine, should work.

Depends on the individual person, though. For me, it somehow doesn't work at all. I'm approaching 500 daily races now, but I still get nervous as ****. 🤣

When I did finally get in to a Race C, wow what a difference a few days make. It was perhaps the dumbest lobby I've ever been a part of. I should have known what evenings can be like sometimes but damn.

Hit going into turn 1 even though it looked like there was plenty of space around and I took it perfectly fine from my side. Amazingly got through Eau Rouge without incident only to be hit again at the end of Kemmel.

Best part was the guy who turned into me after I had got alongside to pass then ramming me off at turn 16 before the back straight and putting 'karma' into the chat.

Just epic, epic racing there

In the end I just quit out because it had become a nonsense and I didn't fancy duking it out for 13th.

Hoping to get some Saturday morning runs in, they're usually pretty decent in terms of lobby quality.

Had an incident at Pouhonne yesterday. A AMG went very wide, I made a move on the Silhouette in front of me the AMG serves back in front of me, I have no way to avoid (hidden by the Nissan) so hit him as he comes on my line 40 km slower.
5.seconds penalty to me put me at the back.
Finished P13 but really didn't have a chance
