Will C be yet another race with a pit stop too long to make it worth pitting to fuel and change to mediums? If so, it’ll be a fuel saver like Nurb GP was a few weeks ago! The coup de grace would be if the Alfa is the meta car lol.

This has been a crap week so far for me in daily race b. I'm racing like an idiot. Every. Single. Race. My QTs are OK, although I'm not very consistent. I did manage to break into the 52's. But as soon as I start racing, I seem to miss every braking point, or I brake too little, or both. I've learned that if you screw up the last turn too badly, they just transport your car back before the turn, and drop you 10 places (or whatever). And believe it or not, that's happened to me more than once!

I should have a "Student Driver" sign on my car. In fact, I think I'll go add one right now. And maybe a "Warning: Idiot Driving" sign.
Wow, thanks for the info! I assumed they took the replay feature out for the Ranking boards. It was much easier to view in GT Sport.
It doesn't feel very user friendly in GT7 🤦‍♂️

You're welcome. I record one of the leaders' replays. Then I have it right there any time I need it, specifically during QT. I just pause the game and press the "share" button, and the recording is right there anytime I have questions.

EDIT:
Why not go somewhere weird/interesting like Blue Moon Infield with GR.4 (except it'll be an alfa fest), or experiment with High Speed Ring (something fast, GR.2 or GR.1), Alscace can be interesting, run something there idc what.
Alsace is probably my favorite track in the game, and I'm pretty sure it hasn't been a race B or C since the game came out. Disappointing..

So next week Daily C I think will have some great racing (it depends when the game update is release as this could be pulled for the new track (possibly))

Just done a few rough test laps just to see how things fair.
Cars tested, 155, WRX, Megane Trophy & BMW M4

Fuel - you get about 7.5 half laps of starting fuel.

Lap times on hard tyres doing short shift
155 - low 1.58.
WRX - high 1.57
M4 - mid 1.58
Megane - mid 1.58

Medium tyres no fuel saving
WRX - high 1.56

Pit time from entry to exit 25-30 seconds

From what I can gather short shifting I don’t think will give you enough fuel so you will have to race in different mix modes to save the extra 2/3 laps. Personally I think the fastest strat will be flat out, pit and swap tyres. Will do a test race tomorrow for this and find out

IIRC you could do practice time trials on any track and set your car for BOP in GTSport. Is that possible in GT7? I looked in vehicle settings and it did not look doable. Would be nice to do this ahead of next weeks' races..
what I do is either make a lobby with the race specs or do a custom race with BOP and specs. Then hang way back on the start and just run qualifying laps for a while

Did some races at Spa after getting my QT down to a decent 2:15.6 in the Corvette. First race I started P5, did a 5S/3M strategy. The Softs were nearly toast by the end of lap 5 but I made it to the pits. Finished P5 with clean race bonus. Second race I started P8, any further back and it seems like you would start on the straight. I went 4M/4S this time in another clean race and snuck my way up to a P3 finish. It's wild how much faster the Skyline and Supra are on the straights. Just flying past me in my Corvette like I'm sitting still.

Let’s hope so!

Anyone else still get a flutter of nerves when they approach Eau Rouge?

Doesn't seem to matter how many times I've been round Spa, over how many years on so many different titles, when I see that hill approaching I know - not so much that I'm at risk of crashing - that there's one line, and if I don't hit it, the time I could lose is significant, and a penalty is a possibility as well if it goes totally south.

Still has me holding my breath as I hit that first turning point.

Daily C next week…. Not sure on this.

Race times in WRX
No pit fuel save - 19.56
Flat out with pit stop - 20.01

This was against 15 Ai cars too. When you factor in the drivers around you in a lobby - the pit stop your going to have to overtake car quickly. The no stop you need to be quick but also save fuel ever lap and you will be using the mix mode too around the lap.

I think for lower lobbies this will be some great racing. A+ drivers I think it’s a non stop.

Trying the G70 at daily race b. Very consistent times, easy to control, and great throaty sound. We'll see how it goes.

This is what I feared... another fuel saver in the WRX. After Catalunya and Nurb GP, a WRX fuel saver is exactly what we need!!!

At least race B will be interes...... oh wait, Gr3 at RBR again.

Well, race A might be fu........... nope, a one make of white driving phone books.

I don't get it. Is it that hard to calculate a race where you HAVE to pit no matter what?

Makes you think are PD testing Gr4s for a BOP update?
Like you say 3 races in a row for fuel save. I don’t mind a fuel save but add another element to the race. I think mandatory hard with the options to use soft would make this race better.

You don't even have to calculate it. Just make both tire compounds mandatory. Leave the fuel alone (meaning, 1x) and require two tire compounds (or make tire wear enough where you have to). I hate fuel saving races, only because I can't have teh fuel modifier up and the radar up at the same time. I wouldn't mind it otherwise, but PD being PD doesn't allow a full time radar which boggles my mind.

One of the most fun Dailys they ever did, IMO, was the Gr3 at the Glen, 10 laps, RM tires and enough wear you had to pit for new tires. It was an RM + RM Most would pit at the half way point but you could make it six laps if you tried, which made an undercut/overcut possible. I won two races pulling off an undercut; that was super exciting.

ETA - In both races the [then] leader and I went side-by-side through the esses at the beginning of lap six as he came out of the pits. Thanks to my warmer tires and slightly more momentum I was able to make the pass both times. From there it was trying to hold them off with one lap older tires. Super fun races...

I remember a lot of people losing that race because of the narrow pit entry. It's really easy to enter too fast and go over the line for a penalty. It may be the toughest one in the game. :scared:

We met in a race A yesterday, didn't we?
Not me I think, only tried the one race there and gave up after half a lap 😔😂

Try turning on the line, and follow it religiously (as fast as you can). I tis not perfect but Spa is very line dependent. Other broad tips.........

spa-track-map.jpg
That was a very handy guide, thank you. Your tips for 11, 15 and 16 made the biggest difference to me. I've been running the Corvette all week, but have gone the best I've ever managed at Spa. Usually I'd be starting at the back, but now around P8-12 in A rooms and had a couple of poles and fastest laps in high B classes.
So close to breaking in to the 14s in the Corvette, but working all weekend 😕

Spa divebombs are a laugh, I'm just not accepting any now. sorry but if You've come from way off the radar and have got on the inside, you would be over in the stands if my car wasn't there to keep you on track. You're not getting the overtake, not from me.

Funny watching some of them take themselves out trying to pay me back for not letting them smash me off track.

Thanks. I’ll definitely be going flat out and pit for fuel. I hate fuel saving when you have to use a mix of fuel maps. Such a pointless thing to worry about in a 20’ race.

No, all they would have to do is not start the race with a full fuel load. This would definitely open up more options during the race. And possibly allow for more cars to be competitive.

BTW, I don't see the 2J race getting much love in here. I'm really looking forward to that race. Really bored with the same Gr3/Gr4 races week after week. It's a shame that with three daily races that these vintage race cars don't get a chance to come out and play more often.

Has it been a shove-fest for anyone else in Race B this week? Hopped into my 2nd account and somehow started P2.

Small mistake Turn 1 and they caught up with me and by Turn 3 was 2 places down from ramming and hit-to-pass driving...

Couldn't overtake as they'd try to shove you into the barriers but still managed P3 with their dirty driving against each other and less than 2 seconds back from winner, who was king of shoving and ramming and zero pens for anyone!!
