If that were a Subaru you wouldn't need to shovel any more
I almost bought a Subaru when I was looking last year. Surprisingly, the K5 does pretty good in the snow as I spent a bit more to get AWD. But, I have tons of snow driving experience so that might skew my impressions of driving in the snow.

That is a GUN lap on used rubber and a belly of fuel, bravo.
Thank you sir. I really wish I had hit a 14 this week but I blew it every time. In a previous race I was on for a 14.7 when I took softs on the 2nd stint but I totally missed my brakes at the chicane and hit a 15.0 almost identical to this one. Felt pretty good until some Canadian showed up running 13’s every race for fastest lap and even hitting a high 14 on mediums…whew! I wish I had that kinda time to put into the game.

I don't feel this week's Race B for 2 reasons:
1) We just come from a full week of RBR short.
2) I still remember the last time we had that very same race (Gr.3 on RBR full). I remember the cars, the good players, the bad players, the ramming, the pushing, the penalties, the frustration. All of it.

Now I feel like the loop has started. Sooner or later all B races will be repeated because PD refuses to introduce other tracks and because it's always Gr.3 or Gr4, which means we always have the same few competitive cars.
It feels tedious. That is why PD can't go on with the same formula.

Looking forward to some Red Bull Ring tomorrow. Probably in the Mustang again as I can make it work and it hasn't let be down so far. I also have no problems using the Porsche I'm guessing if it's the META again. I just like the Red Bull Ring so I don't care what I drive.

It sure beats digging out of the massive snowstorm that hit Western New York the past few days. After 3 days of shoveling snow I'm spent. My car is under that first huge mound closest to where I took the picture on Friday Night. And the progress after a few hours of removing snow on Saturday. Everything is as back to normal as it's going to get until it melts. 0/10, do not recommend being in the middle of a huge record breaking snowstorm. Way off topic, but that's what I've been dealing with all weekend.

Yea, that's crazy. Feel bad for anyone who had home tickets to the Bills game.

You need to buy one of those Elon Musk "This is not a flamethrower" contraptions.

I finished 10th worldwide in the Race A at Tokyo so I'm happy with that and will take a break from new events this week but hopefully I can have the decades challenge video for Tokyo out by Thursday.

B has already repeated a few times as it is. I'd bet it's the 4th or 5th time we've had RBR Gr.3 since the game launched. One or two of them might've been race C but ultimately it's the same driving experience.

Pretty sure dailies aren't for me this week. I can't stand fuel mileage races and that's what GR.4 at Watkins Glen is. If you want to win you're no stopping on hards and having to figure that out. Boring AF, no thank you.

RBR with GR.3s is fine but completely uninspiring and we just had RBR (short) with GR.4 cars so I'm kinda meh on going there.
I don't have the car for Race A.

I think Race C would have been vastly better if the Fuel Usage was high enough that you absolutely had to stop no matter what. Then you could have drivers playing around with different fuel strats/tire strats.
Is it better to go hard from green on Mediums and then pit half way for the hards and top up?
Is it better to go hards to start and save and then take your splash and mediums to the end?

Both of which would be more interesting than "can I make my fuel stretch 10 laps but also not be slow as fork and also also actually enjoy the drive?"

Because for me the answer to that is no, it's not fun, it's slow and boring

Does anyone have a chart showing the Daily race tracks & cars since the first week?

I’m curious to see the combos used so far.

i feel the opposite to you.

GR3 at RBR is one of my fave combos and one ill always partake alot in.
I always love a fuel save race and think there's a lot more strategy involved than you made out, I love the mix of trying to be fast but efficient and when to push and when to save.

i will be playing alot this week

Did Race A for today because I like that the Chaparral 2J's being utilized for this week's Race A.

I managed to clock in a time of 1:57 and it was enough for me to be on pole twice for the second and third sessions.

In the first session I got to start in P2 as the pole sitter had a quali time where he was one sec quicker than mine's. Race starts and boom T1 shenanigans happened and I got the short end of the stick as I got beached and spun out a couple of times before getting the car stable again after getting beached. Lost about 10 positions as a result but I was able to recover and finish P3 in the process but it was a bummer that I got caught by the T1 shenanigans in Sardegna.

Second session I managed to nab pole position but just like the second session I got beached again and lost about 6 positions but this time I was able to recover quickly and by lap 5 I caught up to the leader and passed him on the penultimate corner and from there I got my first win on this Daily.

Third and last session for today and thankfully this time I didn't get beached but still got caught up by the usual T1 shenanigans and lost about a couple of positions but thanks to the drivers getting penalties here and there due to either track limit breaches, wall hits, etc. I was able to get into P2 quickly by lap 3 then I had to deal with the player in first where he gave me a hard time to pass but I was able to get through and pass him by lap 5 and I almost choked this race as in lap 6 I've gone wide on a corner which allowed the player behind me to catch up but I was able to rebuild my gap by the final lap and I was able to win once more for this race before ending my sessions for today. I did apologize to the driver afterwards for my overtake I did on lap 5 and he didn't seem to mind it as he enjoyed the race.

For me overall this race really gave me a checkup whether I'm able to tame the 2J and it took about some quali sessions and those three race sessions for me to understand more on how to drive the 2J. Also I don't think I can expect any clean races for Race A because of how tricky the 2J is to drive and some players not being used to how the 2J drives but that may be just me after what I've witnessed today in my sessions.

So.... I decided to stop caring about whether or not I have to make a pit stop or try to fuel save. I decided this: Just Go Faster

Fired up the game, picked up my WRX, and set to qualifying. I'm C DR S SR so I'm not going to be paired up with the super fast guys. I'm a C DR because I suck at race craft and RBR Short was bad for me. Normally I'm mid B.

Anyways, dropped my Q time to a 1:54:0xx, basically a few 10ths off of a 1:53. This put me on Pole by about a second.
Great battle between the top three who all broke away early.

Made a mistake, dropped down to 3rd. Bumped the guy in 2nd, gave him the spot back. Took it from him when he got slow coming out of the boot heel and into the 9-10 complex. Passed him going down the start finish straight. Set my sights on #1.

Got him basically the same way. Pressure, slow out of the heel, pass down the straight.

Ultimately was able to run 7 flat out laps on the Mediums and then dive into the pits to end lap 7. Took Hards and just enough fuel to make it to the end (finished on .1 laps left) but finished in 2nd, 11 seconds down from 1st because he saved and I stopped.

Probably could have won that race without the 5 or so seconds of penalties I gathered throughout the race for leaving the racing circuit. Either way my strat moving forward is Just Go Faster

Well, back at RBR for race b, and I'm glad for the Gr.3 cars (as opposed to Gr.4 last week). Good to see there's a lot of car choices available to suit your fancy. Still a lot of petty drivers out there, and in this case even I joined the Heartbreakers (I wonder how many people will get this reference).

Someone slowed down too much at T1 and I rammed him (unintentionally, but I did it). I assume it was him who got his revenge at T2 by hitting me all the way over to the wall (that's quite a ways). But I took my beating without complaint.

In the last lap, someone rear-ended me (for no good reason) going into the 2nd-to-last corner, but I ran him off the track at the last corner. Not sure whether I feel bad... nah, I guess I do feel bad to have stopped to that level. Of course, I didn't get a penalty, because PD wouldn't know a penalty if it bit them on the, um, bumper.

Race B Pro Tips:

1. Recognize that at DR C half the field is going to wreck themselves or each other by T4 so don't bother setting a qualifying time.
2. Select whatever GR.3 car from your stock (or given to you) that you want, it'll be fine.
3. Start dead last b/c you didn't qualify
4. Finish 4th after gaining 11 spots between attrition and being faster than they are.

Repeat till you're not fast enough/drivers don't crash enough THEN set a qualifying time

Some people here are old enough to have come across some good music. We played 'Breakdown' with my band. As far as I remember, it was actually the first song we ever practiced.

Race A is even more of a meme race this week than when it was with the F1500T. And it continues the trend of high-downforce cars having absolutely no rear end grip (the MP4/4 was the only car to buck this trend). Gotta love getting 10s of penalties because you try to drive around the outside of a much slower car only for them to lose control and bounce you into the wall...

I'm still having fun racing from the back though since there's no DR to worry about.

So a bit of a triumphant day, Daily Race C at Watkins Glen.

Race 1 - qualified 6th finished 2nd
Race 2 - qualified 3rd finished no where punted off track into a barrier picked up a gazillion track limit penalties
Race 3 - qualified 3rd finished 1st
Race 4 - qualified 2nd - leading race with 3 laps to go pitted, put 3 laps of fuel in but crossed the line rejoining in first 12 seconds ahead - max fuel save on, nasty last lap but came home 1st with clean race bonus
Race 5 - nowhere
Races 6, 7 and 8 Qualified 1st and finished 1st

best sequence of results ever - started the day BC finishing BS but dont care anymore about the ratings but happy to have moved in the right direction, ironically no sign of improvement on my B rating, but it’s what it is.

Question: how do you feel about people overtaking you on the inside of corner #1 of RBR?There's a 90% chance they will push you on the outside and possibly make you lose a few positions.

Since I am so respectful towards every player, I never try. If I see I'm faster and I have a chance to take the inside, I don't. I lift my foot from the accelerator and get behind the car in front of me.

if they look like they're going to wash up the track into the runoff area then yeah I'll take the chance. If they're on a mid-circuit line then no b/c there's not enough room. If they're slower than I am sometimes I back off, get a better run through the corner, and pass them on the run up to 3

Its a legit passing spot but you MUST be in front of the defending driver, trying to out brake them doesn't work because to make the apex your exit will be staggeringly slow.

The best place to pass is turn 4, the horrible off camber right hander. Dummy to the inside, bloke in front panics, you take the high line and cut back across the apex as he drifts a bit wide.

My pet hate is the folks trying to push pass on the last two corners, they never, ever make the apex......ever.

Makes total sense. Most Tom Petty songs are pretty easy (I play guitar).

It used to bug me a lot. Now I do it too. For me, it depends on whether I trust the ability of the person in front of me not to brake too early, causing me to plow into their back. I try very hard not to push someone off the track on that corner, although I'm not perfect.
