Did some more quali laps in the GTR on the #1 account and got it down to 1:28.235. Odd part is the lap didn't even seem that good. I wasn't really pushing or trying as I was just getting some laps in before the race started. Maybe that's the trick - don't try. That lap time puts me at 298th currently. Hoping most people are like me and when R.A. drops tomorrow they'll be too distracted by that to put in more quali times. I'd be happy in the top 500, but the top 300 is 40% better! :D

Did two races on the #1 account, the first starting on pole. Managed to not mess anything up and got my 100th Sport mode win in 335 attempts! (I don't count the #2 account wins so this is the official 100th.) Kinda stoked about that...

The second race had me starting P2 and it was basically parade laps the whole time; finished P2.

Yeah, I hate this games music too
I unchecked like 90% of the songs. I kept only the old Daiki Kasho from GT5P/GT5/GT6/GTS and a couple of others.

It baffles me that Moon Over The Castle isn't available, either the classic or the new one 🤦‍♂️

Blimey that is hustling. I did notice I can turn very consistent 30.0's in race by driving at 90% instead of 10/10ths. No idea how people are making the GTR work, it turns in well but when i hit the throttle I get wheel spin.

Thanks for all of your comments regarding my "incident" at T2 (or is it T3?) at RBR. I appreciate all of them, even the ones that were critical of me. I want to learn, so this is a good chance for that. If I had it to do over again, I'd either approach the turn more slowly, or not do it at all.

If I had thought I did something wrong at the time, I certainly would have pulled over and let him by, but I didn't (at the time) think I did anything wrong.

After reading the various opinions, I think that I should avoid trying that again. I mean, it's not as though one more position either way matter that much - it's only a game. And I just had a race where me and someone else went side-by-side through almost an entire lap, and we didn't even touch. It felt so good to drive respectfully with someone else. I need to keep that in mind, because it was a better experience than winning is. Honestly, I don't even remember which of finished ahead.

I think the one thing I struggle with the most is knowing 1) how to overtake, in various situations, and 2) what is copastectic and what isn't. I mean, some things are obvious, but still, there are nuances I still need to learn.

Thanks again, everyone!

Same here. So far I can't make it work at all. Even with the early upshifts on corner exit. I'm either slow or spinning.

I have a dumb question. Where in the daily races or my garage or in the game is the option to rent a car for a event? I have looked everywhere but cant find it. Please help..

I save them to a thumb drive (usb drive) and take them over to my computer. I have a USB extension cable on my PS5 so I don't have to reach behind to plug and unplug the thumb drive.
Here's mine then, this was driving fast but not pushing too hard, just focusing on apex after apex after apex.

Also gave the FT-1 a lash and yeah, it's fast, 29.1 so two tenths off my Lancer time. It has to be said though, tough to wring a time out of it so will stick witht he Supra in race, the FT1 understeer is severe so you need to be perfect to get a time from it.

one of the best things about GT5 was building my own playlists and then listening to them while pounding through the rain at 3am down the Mulsanne Straight. Now the music changes by screen?!?!
Like at least let the song that is playing play out, don't change songs because I went from the main screen to my garage... sheesh that's not rocket science

How did I not get a penalty here?

Right after you select the specific event, there are 2 buttons. One says "Select from Garage". The other says "Rent an Event-specific Car".

Um, did you forget to include the video?

Getting thanked for a clean race in the chat afterwards I find more satisfying than gaining a position or two.

Come away from it feeling a lot more fulfilled too. Racing can be the reward in itself.

Bonus for senior citizens?😜🍻

Different topic: Race A

I jumped into qualifying, and after less than half an hour I was close to P100 in the rankings. So, once again, nobody seems to be doing this. Okay, this time I can actually understand that. I'm scared of the nasty white vacuum cleaner, too...

Now I need a motivational speaker to talk me into actually jumping into a race.😆

Is it just me that finds dirty drivers in my lobbies? 🤣 Every time i mention i had donkeys in my races, the majority here reply with "nah, races have been clean for me" 🤪 Which I congratulate you about, btw 😁

Case in point, first race of the week, jumped into 2nd account to test waters, put in 2 qualy laps and started Race B in P10.

In the first 2 or 3 laps, had 2 drivers punt me to overtake and then I was purposefully swiped (managed to hold the car in place) as I was going to do a clean overtake. I did get damage too...

People where even cutting corners or moving off limits in turn one and nobody got a single penalty! Nobody!!

Thankfully I still managed to recover the race, overtake the lot of them and finish P4 (6 + 3 positions won 😎) and right behind the top 3 (got clean race too) but would have been a very different story if I didn't recover!

It's so annoying to worry about dirty drivers before a race rather than focus on how to enjoy it... PD more interested in keeping barriers new by punishing crashes rather than good, honest racing 😱🫤

Congratulations........by the way, I didn't know your alt account was Talon2. Had a race with you the other night, you won and I was mid pack or so.

There has to be some advantage to counter all the aches and pains.

How about this: Nobody really cares what you do. Does that help? I'm only slightly kidding - when I first started doing the online races, I was scared to death. Turns out, nobody cared - everyone's more concerned about their own race. Unless of course that's not why you need motivation to jump into a race - if it's because you're concerned about your rating, nobody cares. LOL - I hope you take this in the spirit I'm intending it. Just having some fun.

I can't speak for other people, but quite a few times at RBR I've found myself doing really stupid things that I'm sure looked really bad (because they were). When there's a lot of congestion around corners, sometimes I get so focused on trying to find a safe way through the chaos that I forget to brake until it's too late. I haven't really had this happen, at least not this often, on other tracks. My point is, maybe not everyone is trying to be dirty. I could be wrong, of course...

No I cannot get this site to accept the image.... "this is not the image we expected" ...... like it's a droid they are looking for. I give up. I did 6 laps within 1.5 tenths of each other FWIW.
Image or video? If you're trying online link you can try attaching. Or if the format isn't accepted, take a screenshot from phone and try that.

Looks like you managed to get something attached at least once:

I don't know what you're doing or how, but images of just about any kind drop right in direct from your computer or phone. Click "Attach files", browse to file, wait for upload, click "Insert" and choose thumbnail or full image. You can also just drag and drop them, from your file browser straight into the reply box, and copy and paste the same way:

Videos however will not. You will need to host them somewhere else first.

I got tired of ruining my SR on my main account just because other people are idiots, so I switched to my second account and ran RBR without qualifying, in the V12 Vantage:

misc.jpg

I gained 13 positions and finished less than 3 seconds from P1, and I did it without touching anyone (or anyone touching me), and the only people I passed were people that had quit, or spun out. I ran OK times in the V12 - it's kind of a fun car, but it was kind of hilarious to watch the different ways people could screw up, including on the last turn where I was P4, and P3 ran into P2 and they both spun out.

Don't get me wrong - every mistake I saw was one I've made plenty of times. But it was like I wasn't even in the race - I was just observing.

Nope, it isn't just you. I'm also whining all the time. 🤣

Thank you, that's what I needed!😆 But seriously (almost...), in this case it's really the unpredictable behaviour of that specific car which scares me.

Just by the looks of it, wouldn't this machine better be used as a snow cutter / blower?

Eventually there will be a part 2 with the rest of the decades and a full feature length movie in HD but I've already spent over 40 hours on this challenge and the 25th Anniversary update comes out very soon so this is all I can do for now.
