Had some decent races and results in Race B tonight 😁 Still using 2nd account as I'm scared to use main for tracks with a high likely hood of mayhem.. Went from almost A+ to nearly C just by being a victim of dirty drivers and now I'm 1 or 2 good results away from getting back to A rating (DR).

Has anyone raced in Watkins? Do you need to fuel save or is it just tire compound change during race?

I haven't found a good strategy but the McLaren or the Supra seemed best a having decent pace and saving fuel....of course I couldn't keep up with the much faster drivers since I was in fuel saving mode

I tried a few of the new A races. At the reverse version of Deep Forest, I have no idea where I'm going.
My man @Talon16 figured it out, though. He's racking up the gold medals. 👍

I was on there too , I was in a red mustang several times and a Tom's Supra...

Had some pretty fun ones today. Managed to rack up 10 wins, despite being drunk on tryptophan* for a number of them.

This one was particularly fun. Was fighting off and fighting with this Ford GT LM (driven by "Jake" who was super clean). That car is so much faster than the GTR on the straights. Had to do some defensive driving but on lap four he took the lead from me on the back straight. Fortunately I was able to keep pace and regain the lead on the last lap.

*It's a Thanksgiving turkey eating reference, for those outside the US of A.

It was one of my favorite cars in the game; a real sleeper. It may still be but it's been a couple of updates since I've giver her a good go. My concern is that tight right and the MR cars tend to just want to spin out for no reason on the tight turns. Tried the Lambo at RBR and was fine through three laps but lap four it just spun on my at T3. I haven't yet figured out how to mitigate it. Regardless, I think you're right!

I make all my own liveries and am also a good liar. I kid. Virtually all of them I download from other people who make them. Sometimes I make minor changes, like updating the racing number (anyone notice I virtually always use #16?) and some other things i have OCD about. I think I've made one or two but all the others come from other people with some minor modifications.

Also, pro-tip (if you want to call a tip from me a "pro" tip). But, now that the rolling starts are closer with the cars going slower, I'll set TC to 1 at the beginning of the race.... similar to a standing start for similar reasons. Once I hit 2nd or 3rd gear I turn it off. Don't need too much wheel spin at the start of the race. You should try it... unless you're in a race right behind me then don't bother.

TL, dr: It was an honor to race ya'll online yesterday for the first time. 🙂

I got my first two online races in yesterday. I ain't perfect (my first race there was a crash on turn 2 and I had to cut across the track into a gravel pit to avoid it). I don't agree with everything that went on, no, but I had fun.
I'll slam AI's around offline all day. Online, though, I'ma talk a lotta smack but I'ma drive that car like it's real life and we all got our kids in the back yelling, "drive faster, Daddy!"
A lot of "non contact" sports are actually full contact, you just avoid it if at all possible, even if it costs you points. I think auto racing is that way. You race me in GT, I ain't tryin' to bump ya but I'ma run from ya like the Bandit. Race me in wipEout and the last thing you will see before the blast is my trio of rockets headed up your tailpipe.

We'll agree to disagree. The man in front has one responsibility, to pick and stick to a line, and in this case the lead driver does that. Into that turn, if you pull up early on the outside to do a switchback as you suggest, you're gonna get rear ended more often than not.

There's also not a lot of context here, I am a pretty tolerant driver but last night, this one race, I was hit or push passed 4 times and on the last lap i saw a small gap and went for it, completing a push pass through agitation.

We don't disagree on responsibility. But I am more responding to the comments that the retaliation was justified. IMO it absolutely was not, because being hit by Grumpy was not only foreseeable, it was avoidable. He didn't need to "cutback", he just needed to brake slightly longer and apex slightly later. You can definitely do that on that turn without being rear-ended.

Lol just started p4 at rbr, a frew a+ guys, rest all a drivers. 3rd made a small error and I passed him, 1sr was running 28s....I mean jeeeeebus......but fell off the road, 2nd made error t1 and i was right there to Nab the win

Sweaty palms in this company as I am very aware of my DR, if in ever in my life gonna be a+, it has to be this week. The little bar on my Dr is so close to full I have to stand near the tv to see it.

Man as the week has gone on, the driving has gotten more aggressive in B race. A bunch of dive bombing
at almost every corner. Luck has been with me this week, so far I have barely held on to my B rating.

Do you not use the showcase?

You can set search parameters for it or just browse liveries for any and all cars.

Actually adding thanksgiving into the keyword search will bring up the one you mentioned (apparently just 1 but alas that's that dwindling userbase problem again...)

Some pretty minor changes (0.01-0.02s in acceleration), but the fuel consumption i feel changed. I found some of the unusual cars fast… my qualifying time I originally set in the G70 (better than my GTR time), then I went a tenth faster in the TT

There were some A+ drivers using the TT before the update because it is easy on fuel and has a flat torque curve. I also set a faster time in the G70, but its fuel rate is terrible so I only did one race with it. I haven’t tried the WRX in the last couple of days to compare.

I’ve settled in and won with the Cayman! The MR cars do great on this track because of how they turn in, especially on the chicane and the following two or three turns. I can pretty much go to half the throttle bar before I short shift on the Cayman, which allows me to be pretty aggressive when I need it if I lay back at other times.

The Citroën does well too, but it’s not very good on gas. The TT drives great on this track, but I found it to be boring compared to the Cayman for some reason. Anybody else having luck in any non-meta car?

Had a super tense race last night, the top two cleared out running low 29's, i can't keep up with that. 5th and below were a bunch slowing each other down. That left myself in 3r and another fellow in 4th running dead set near identical lap times. At no point could he get within 0.4 of a second and at no point could i stretch it beyond 1 second.

It was proper, hard nosed racing without even one pass attempt made. He had me slightly on pace, about 2/10ths lap faster, but would make the odd little error, mostly on exit where he would light them up but also into T3 where he was braking too late IMHO. I was absolutely relentless, not a wheel wrong in 7 laps, really focused on exits and kept leaping away from him at each corner. Really tense stuff, we were both gassed at the end.

You can also search for liveries for your current car at GT Auto (or whatever the name of the place you can get a car wash is). I don't remember it exactly, but pick the middle option, then Livery Editor (or whatever it's called), and select "Load" on the far right.

Stupid unrelated question. Got the PS5 last week and for the love of all things holy i cannot get my head around the playback recording. On PS4, i'd watch my replay within GT7, hitting the share button twice to begin recording and twice at the end. This worked just fine. I do the same on PS5 and I see the little tick top right corner to indicate recording has begun and again that it has ended, but without fail it records for a full hour, so my actual gameplay not the GT7 replay. What in the flying fadoo am I doing wrong and why is sharing on the PS5 so damn confusing?

Yeah, sometimes you just don't have engine sound in the new update. Happens online and offline, had it yesterday with my Lancer at race A.

Yes. It is a bit convoluted, though. On the last screenshot above you have to click "collection." Then you go to GT Auto, Customize, and Load Style. Pick the one you want and done.

Beware, there is a high probability you will have to pay for it. Any paint colors, wheels, etc. you don't already own will need to be bought and deducted from your bank. This isn't the creator charging you (he/she get nothing) rather PD trying to nickle and dime people into MTXs. They seem to have backed off of that a little bit, but I believe that was their original intent.

Had a really fun Race A this morning with "MYTH_Germano" who raced super clean. We started P1 & P2 respectfully and it was nose to tail for basically the whole thing. I was having to defend the majority of it. I was only able to take the proper line through the sharp right (T3?) and the 90* right after the tunnel like one time each. Luckily for me I was able to hold him off and get the W by less than .100".

Was a nail-biter but very fun and despite how close we were, there was no contact throughout the whole race. Kudos to MYTH_Germano as that was super fun.

If anyone wants to waste eight minutes of their life watching me fumble around this track from his POV...

Once you find a guy up your alley you can poach a ton of liveries. I have a weakness for v8 supercar liveries and some people have made dozens......I click away like mad.

They jsut need to be in a file type called .svg, you can upload them from the Gran Turismo website.

You can either make them or download them if you can find good ones.
