I don't know why it took me so long to notice your avatar is Mr. Fredrickson. Up is my favorite Disney movie.

Do you old guys use a wheel? I'm 42 and my thumb joints start to ache after 2 hours of using a controller.
You will experience the same from a wheel, but in different places...it's just repetitive motion. On days when I am able to race, even with a wheel, I use Voltaren gel on my wrists and elbows.

I'm 55 and I really feel that my bones are getting old.😆 After a longer session I get some pain in the outside wrist/palm area of my right hand. Don't know why; throttle control and shifting gears seems to be hard work...😜

Hello everyone. I'm an A/S driver at Sport. Yesterday at Daily Race B, a guy hit me like 5 times without any brakes, his SR went from A to C in 2 races, i called him just "Moron" after the race and i was banned from PSN for 3 days. I saved the replays but couldn't even get the saved replay from the game because of this ban. This is so unfair. He ruined my races which i started from pole and he ruined my 3 days of gaming. I want to do something about it. Is there a GT7 support(i couldn't find any) that we can send them the footage of his driving and do something about it? This really annoys me.

Sony banned you from PSN, not PD/GT7. GT7 does nothing about driver behaviour, only Sony act on insults etc. in the chat.

There is no way to appeal a ban like that (I tried before) and you'll just have to suck it up I'm afraid.

Your best action after a race like that is to quit the lobby before you say something you'll regret and go have a vape.

You can do what I do...be so bad on a controller that it's impossible to send anything other than "good afternoon".

Or, you can insult them in Southern, "bless your heart."

Gr4 on RM sounds fun. Plus with i can squeeze in 3 Race Bs an hour so point gain potential is better. What do we think will be the meta? Alfa or GTR?
It's a solid, traditional Sport week, if again unimaginative. Gr 4 at Watkins is a solid drive, expecting the usual GTR dominance there mind but I do love the track enough to run it a good few times. Race A is an old classic for the mode, not the most exciting race but the Mazda is a good drive.. hoping for passing of time in both A and C as driving into the evening in the Roadsters last time at Tsukuba was beautiful visually and the same into the night at Bathurst as gives it a whole different feel and challenge.

Not holding my breath for it though.
The meta at Watkins Glen will probably be GT-R and Alfa like usual. It’s the WRX whenever they have a fuel saver race. I’ve had great luck, however, with the Cayman. It rotates so well and takes the bus stop smooth and easy. The Mustang is actually really good here because of its gearing and it’s get up and go, so give it a try as well.

Watkins Glen is probably my favorite track, and definitely the one I’m best at for some reason, so I’ll probably be running a lot of races B next week.

It's a great track, so is Bathurst, they'll make some fun back to backs next week.

Yup I'll be in the WRX for a few as I love the livery I have for it, and I expect the Jag and Ferrari to be in the mix as well.

They should just switch the races now and do us all a favour

This combo has been done before. It was a GTR fest with some Alfas and WRXs sprinkled in there. Same three cars as usual.

Thanks, and you're absolutely right - when I get like this I need to take a break. I get so "me" focused that I stop thinking about the other drivers as people. I guess I need to write an application that reaches out and slaps me every once in a while.

Not making an excuse here, but this has been a really frustrating Daily Race week. It's a good track, but frustrating because small mistakes allow entire groups of cars to gang up on you, and it's hard for me to not take it personally. Hmmm, that's some insightful **** right there. I hope I pay attention to it.
I know the feeling, I didn’t do any daily races this week, needed a break. Helped relieve my anxiety and let my bloody knuckle heal from punching the wheel!

I'm 67 and use a wheel - I had to give up using a controller years ago, as it gave me Repetitive Strain Injury in my wrists. The maximum I could use a controller now would be about 15 minutes.

I still get some twinges after a long spell with the wheel, but it's nothing like as bad as it was with the controller.

GTR will be the fastest car there, WRX and Alfa will be viable but won’t have quite the legs as the Nissan. Alfa will struggle the most of the big 3 because of its poor top end. Alfa is the OP handling car but not great on fuel, WRX is best on tracks that are a good balance of power and handling and it’s OP on fuel, and the GTR is the power track car but is the worst of these 3 on fuel. So the track type and fuel settings typically determine which car will be the meta.

Like I said earlier, I'm 66. I've never sim raced with anything other than a wheel, but knowing how savagely I hold the controller in other games, I know it would kill my hands/fingers. I have a callous on the inside of my right thumb, but other that that, no issues with the wheel. Just make sure you're not reaching for the wheel - it'll make your arms and shoulders get tired real quickly.

I can attest to this, for sure! Fortunately, Sony can't ban me for what I think or say!

Moderators: I hope this next thing isn't violating a rule here, since I posted about it in my other topic. If it is violating a rule, let me know how I should have handled it. I thought about just posting a link to the other post, but without the visual, chances are that most people won't notice it. I also figured it doesn't take up much vertical space in this topic. But if I'm wrong, let me know and I'll know better for next time.

I'm working on charting my weekly progress. This is a very early version:

I hope I’m still sim racing in my 60‘s. Think it’s awesome hearing stories how people of all ages like to play video games, especially the older generation. 👍🏻

As for your DR tracker how are you doing this? Is this something you have made up or are you using a program to get this?
I know Kudosprime (https://www.kudosprime.com/) is a site where you upload a screenshot of your GT7 profile page and it works out your DR. I use this from time to time to check my scores.

Do the 25th anniversary stuff?
Somehow I knew someone would say this. I almost edited my post but thought, nah, let’s wait and see who the smart*** is. 🤨
Did it day one. Actually good races. Pop-up keeps appearing though.
This. I’ve done everything. I’ve looked at everything. I did the quizzes in the World Series. I can’t find anything else that needs doing. But it seems to reset every 24 hours, because if I play later in the day I don’t get the messages, but I will again the next day. It’s no big deal, really, but it’s just getting old.

Ah I see, that classic PD programming.

I've only just done it today so assumed that would knock it off.

There's only 1 day left at least.

A lot of complaints here on dirty driving so just my two cents.

Quick perspective:

I just really started getting back into Sport Mode this past month, haven’t really played it in GT 7 but ran nearly a thousand online races in GT Sport. (DR A, SR S typically, DR rating moves from B to A+ because I’m prone to race ending crashes from pushing too hard or driving tipsy.)

I don’t think GT 7 has any greater or fewer dirty drivers than GT Sport, just seems like there are less drivers. Not sure why less people are playing this game but maybe because a new COD was just released. It also seems that this game has more lobby freeze glitches than GT Sport too.

If you dive bomb people they will dive bomb you back. If you make a careless mistake and crash into someone they will crash into you back. Blatant dirty driving is uncommon once you get out of SR B.

If something unsportsmanlike occurs never carry the grudge to the next race.

TL-DR “Let’s have a clean race!”

Sorry, I left the link out of the post (I've since edited it). Here it is:

It would be interesting to see things marked on the graph, like "here's when I turned off TCS", or "here's where I spent a week racing at Monza".
You know what I mean? To get an idea what things lead to increases, or declines.

Hey, does anyone know how to get Sarah to stop reminding me to do the 25th anniversary stuff every time I start the game?
To disable any speech is the circle button. It should be activated in the game options. Good 2023 wishes to GTPlanet and all users! ... Also to Sarah.
