Is that official sausage roll making gear? :D
Always representing for the important things in life

It would be interesting to see things marked on the graph, like "here's when I turned off TCS", or "here's where I spent a week racing at Monza".
You know what I mean? To get an idea what things lead to increases, or declines.
Good idea. I actually have a "comments" field already. I can probably have it show up on the chart somehow.

It's a great track, so is Bathurst, they'll make some fun back to backs next week.

Yup I'll be in the WRX for a few as I love the livery I have for it, and I expect the Jag and Ferrari to be in the mix as well.

They should just switch the races now and do us all a favour
Well unfortunately I havent't raced much at Watkin's Glen and I'm not 100% good at the Bathhurst track. I am pretty good at Tsukuba so I might be doing more of the A races and maybe some B. I will have to do the CE at Watkins Glen first to get a feel on how the track is there.

Watkins Glen is a lot of fun in GR.4 cars. They're fast enough to have a good time but slow enough that it doesn't take amazing reflexes to maintain control. There's quite a few passing opportunities if you're savvy. Into/Out of T1. Heavy Braking into the bus stop. Into and out of the uphill right and uphill left, and finally into and out of the last corner.

GT-R is probably going to be the car but Alfa and WRX will be competitive. If you're good with mid-engine machines the Maclaren will also be pretty good. Can almost keep up with the GT-R and can rotate better in the spots where it matters.

Bathurst in the GR.3 Machines is going to be a bloodbath. Fun for sure, but also infuriating because it's functionally impossible to pass cleanly from say The Cutting all the way through Forrest's Elbow. You can, if you're brave and racing professionals, pass into Skyline but really no please don't.

It's a great track, as noted above it doesn't require a lot of thought or tight technique, get out there and chuck it around.

Best thing added to GT7 since launch by a hundred miles.

They nailed it visually as well, a real treat.

On the topic off penalties in daily races I was clearing some space from my game deleting old videos etc... and I came across the video from my first win way back at LeMans when it was Gr2 week.
Found this penalty gem where the car picks up a 3 second penalty just for kissing the rear bumper on the car in front. I forgot how bad the first system was.

For sure! I almost rank Road Atlanta over it for tracks they've added post launch. I really can't decide which I like better. Also MX-5 Cup to Watkins Glen for a daily when?! That needs to happen

Well, that's it for me, for this week's Daily Race B. I've experienced more different kinds of emotions this week than I have in a long time. Joy, anger, laughter at stupidity (mine, mostly), disbelief, frustration, satisfaction, and just plain bewilderment. But what I can't say I experienced was boredom.

And you have to hand it to this track - it's had the biggest number of different competitive cars than I can ever remember. Here's a list of what I can remember seeing being competitive, in no particular order:
  • Beetle
  • Lancer Evolution Final
  • Mustang
  • Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II
  • Corvette C7
  • F-type
  • Viper SRT
  • 911 RSR
  • GT-R Nismo
  • Suzuki VGT
  • DBR9
I'm sure I've left something out.

And @GaugeForever, I just couldn't get past your QT. 44.162 vs. 44.097. I tried my darndest, but you got me this week.

Is Twitter the only (other) place to get this info?
On the internet, I mean. I find this thread to be useful but I wish I didn't have to search through to find the info.
It's the only place I know of to get the information early. I don't really Twitter, but if you bookmark Nenkai's page you can check there. Don't know how he does it (datamines the game) and it's a crapshoot on when he'll post up the following week's races, but it's usually on Thursday or Friday.

Back to work tomorrow so not going to get a lot of racing in this week. A pity as I really like Watkins Glen and early impressions look like it may be possible to compete with the GTRs.

Amazingly a clean race despite the close attentions of the Alfa. 6th place a good start. G70 very stable and just fast enough.

Been running in an attempt to have fun. PD has other ideas. Entered 5 race B. Only got to race in 2 as the other 3 disconnected after warm up so counted as a disconnect and dead last. Of the 2 I made it in to 1 I made a few mistakes but still saw plenty of carnage, the other was a straight up wreckfest.

Of all the surprises I had 2 great race A. Clean, plenty of side by side racing and good battles despite it being MX5s at Tsukuba. I think the disconnects only sealed the deal. Until they fix something I'm done with Gr4. Only 2 or 3 of us in non GT-Rs and it's just a total unpenalized mess. While I like Watkins Glen, getting more penalty for clipping a line rather than shoving 3 cars off isn't gonna encourage me to go back.

Interesting that you have disconnect issues, very seldom I have such issues. And yeah MX5s at Tsukuba works despite it is a bit of a tight track, but not so much for the small MX5s. Done 4-5 races with the same car and tire combo in GT7 (been a Nations event as well as a daily a I think).

I had never had real disconnect issues until tonight. Cleaned out the cache and rebooted my router after the first one, but the Tokyo servers said no. Both races I was able to drive were on the Sydney server. That speaks to bigger problems than I can fix.

MX5's are always great to bash around Tsukuba but man, this one drives like a dream. Thought it'd be a bit rough on the Comforts but they don't drive any worse than you'd expect Sport tyres to.

Can see myself spending a lot of time here this week. As always - I don't understand why BoP road car races need to have SR/DR disabled, but I think that bridge has long been crossed.

Honestly delighted to have the week off work for this cycle, this might be the best group of dailies for my interests since the game launched.

Whatever race is up quickest I'm happy to jump in.

Still no passage of time but

Yes, the AMG 😅 . I tried them all and this was my weapon of choice. With it, I finally made it back to AS after a month in BS.

Jumped into an A race and 2 B races this morning. It's nice racing early on Mondays because I get into lobbies with A/S all the way to D/B drivers. Race A will not be my cup of tea. It wasn't too bad this morning, punted in T1 from P3 to dead last with a 3 sec gap - the usual stuff, but that was in an A/S lobby. I could have avoided it by owning the inside, but I think whomever punted me just missed their braking point. But as the week goes on and my QT puts me in more C lobbies, and no DR hit, I anticipate the A races will deteriorate into a race where all one needs to do is survive lap 1, not make a fatal mistake, then hot lap it to the end.

Although the GTR might be the fastest at WG, I do believe there will be fun driving a number of different cars. The lobbies I entered this morning were all A/S drivers in GTRs in the top 3, but the rest of the field was a good mix. The Alfas I raced against were losing time to me in the Mustang through the first sector, and could not really make another move until the 3rd sector. The MRs were competitive as well. I would avoid the Swift and Bugati - they were sitting ducks.

It was mostly clean racing, I started P-almost last and made up some positions. Not being able to see penalty banners on opponents is still yucking my yum. I was battling a Maclaren and it was getting a little dirty. I made a mistake the Maclaren perceived as aggression/poor sportsmanship into the bus stop. We both suffered. He lost positions and I picked up a 1.5s penalty. The last couple of laps his bumps and passes became more aggressive and he picked up a penalty. I was unaware and may have pitted him as a consequence - he dived inside before the penalty line, right into my line - I had the momentum for the pass after the penalty line. Had I known he was going to serve a 1.5 sec penalty, there is no way I would have challenged that turn.

Good lord the times are already below 2 minutes even 1.58xxx🤯 and I thought my 2.04.xxx was a “decent time “ 🫣
My 1:58 got me P11. The leader was 1:54.

100% agreed. This combo is perfect.

And yes, it's a shame that there are no points to be awarded. It's always fun to get used to the special behaviour of a certain road car.

(and personally, I'm the better the slower the cars are...😆)
