<...snip...>

No stopping, needs to tank performance more. The difference between no-stopping & going flat out should always marginally benefit the guy that pits & goes flat out, taking all the risk, racing on the edge. The risk is that if he makes mistakes , the no-stop strategy starts to come in to play & be viable... But that if you have a flawless flat out race you should have a significantly lower race time.

Respect! I genuinely think your post was well-intentioned but resulted in the best troll performance ever.

<I see that others have already responded.>

About a year-ago GTS posed a two-lap Nordschleife/GT4 combo and provided just 75% of the required fuel. It was new for me. I had to re-learn how to race, lift before every braking point and yet still brake hard, maximize mid-corner speed, ease into the throttle, determine when to steal some draft vs passing, save some fuel for the end or use sooner... depending on the situation. It was intense. And then mix in some opposite one-stopper racers. It was a creative combo.

It is still Sunday. Exercise the other side of your brain. Try the no-stopper. It is much harder than you think and you will be a better racer for it.

All the good intentions went out the window when he suggested anyone on a no-stop/fuel-saving strategy deserved to be punted/their race destroyed because of his bs personal opinion. If he doesn't have respect for others, he doesn't deserve respect himself.

This is how it feels for us all as we progress, we end up in lobbies that we feel are too hard. But they are a learning experience and soon you will feel at home in it
Remember the matchmaking is not trying to put you in a lobby you can win, but one with equal racers. If you qualify as p10 you're supposed to finish as p10 too, anything above is progressing.

My win/race rate in GTS was about 2-3%.
And that's not exceptionally low
There's players that boast with 2500 race wins, but they are seal clubbing. Behaving so bad that their safety rating goes down enough to loose their driver rating, get put in lobbies with beginners, win, rinse and repeat.
That kind of behaviour isn't really racing, it's gaming the system and they can rarely hack it in higher lobbies.
Better to stay clean, race your piers and slowly progress.
Good luck, see you out there
here - here . . . well said.

Great way to start the week 😎💪 First win in GT7, Daily race A kart race at Kyoto Miyabi. Fantastic battle with Clarky, he was very fast and came back from seemingly nowhere. Respect 🤝

This stuff happens in almost every level all the way up to A+/S

The only time I've rarely seen weaving, or pushing people around, or basically any dirty stuff is in the very top splits for the FIA championship when it's a main season & there's a bunch of the supernerd eSports kids in there on their wheels. They tend to try be as clean as possible often because I think being dirty could maybe harm their chances of being invited to the tournaments in person or something.

Regular A+ lobbies though, especially just weekly races... Yea there's tonnes of dirty stuff going on & some of its for good reason too.

A lot of what I see is things like revenge punts, or people feeling disrespected in some way & deciding to wreck a guy because of it. Even things like previous beef from other lobbies spilling over into new lobbies.

One thing I've done & seen others do is crash out no-etoppers for rave C. & While I get that it's part of racing, in a video game I simply won't accept losing to a no-stopper. Mainly because I think it's a cowardly, cheap, low skill way to win. Short shifting & saving fuel is not difficult, it's anti-racing & anti-fun & there's nothing more annoying than when you've battled like crazy with maybe 2 other guys in the top 4, going purple & pulling off awesome racecraft, only to lose the win to someone that was too afraid to actually race & instead chose the most overpowered, easymode way to win a race.

Pretty sure the fastest race time I had this week for Race C was 19:01 with a FL of 1.24.8 on controller. The turd that won was on a wheel doing a no-stop & had a 18:55. Ridiculous.

I've always hated no-etoppers in GTS & this, & it'll continue to be one of those things that I shamelessly bin people off for doing because I just think it's absolutely the weakest thing you can & is Anti-fun... & I'm in the A+ lobbies so yeah.
The point of this rant was there are many variables as to why people do dirty things, & almost none of them are because they don't understand the rules or need some kind of extra help... It's because we know the consequences & will do it anyway if it's worth it or it justifies our own reasoning.

It is after all, a game
Is this guy for real??

Do you realize what kind of rubbish you write?

The driver who is clever and uses a good strategy doesn't deserve the win? Oh man, what kind of world do you live in please?
If a driver crosses the finish line in front of me, as long as he drove fair, he has my respect, whether he did it with one stop or 10, I don't give a damn! A win is a win as long as it was a fair and sporting victory and a good pit strategy is part of racing.

I need some advise.
Not played GTSport so my Dr/Sr was brand new to GT7. I’ve found my self in league Dr C and Sr S. This is where my issue now starts.
In the lower leagues I was qualifying mid to high on the grid. I’ve never been able to win a race but have finished P2 on a few occasions. My average finishing place is Id say P5.
Now I’m in C/S I’m always at the back the grid, and as the race progresses I mange to get on average now P7/8. Im fairly new to sim racing too and I know my skill and speed will increase but I just feel at the minute I’m in a league that im not able to win races. Am I best just grinding out races? I’ve done 28 sport races with 6 clean races so far.

Any advise would be much appreciated
You can add me or other Racer here, we can try to look at you with some races. We are some very nice Guys on a "Gt-Planet Comunity". I Think for you its time to get better Quallifying Times.

Well done. Careful when you get back into your other cars - they'll feel like they don't slow down or turn any more!

Managed to hit A+ doing race B last week, feels a bit odd when I've done I think 28 races on GT7 and not won any but hey, I've had fun in almost every race I've done.

Not sure I've ever qualified higher than 5th either, feels strange to have that rating when I'm always a decent chunk off the ultimate pace.

as someone that's perpetually stuck in B/S, how did you get there so quick?

I was already A carried over from GT Sport, I do know someone who's gone from the very bottom up to A in about 25 races though, I would imagine you get a lot more ranking points if you ever beat anyone who's got a higher rating than you, so if you ever end up in a lobby with a few A ranked drivers that's when you really need to be at your best and get a good result.

appreciate the advice! - A rated lobbies have generally been tough I got to admit, but I am getting better

BoP races again, alright. The Gr.3 Ferrari 458 is simply not fun to drive for me without some changes to its setup, so I'm out again this week. Hope they get the tuning exploits sorted before I lose the rest of my interest.

Just want to agree with previous posters about DR rating, especially A+. In my opinion, one should always put maximal effort into performing as well as possible when competing online - it's more fun for everyone - but at the same time it can get anxious to having to meet expectations, not lose DR and so on. If possible, perform as well as possible and only look at your DR if you can do it without anxiety. Otherwise, just race, show respect and have fun.

If you want to race online, race online. Learn the track and just jump right in - don't force yourself to have a good qualifying time first so that you don't look bad. Or even worse, not racing at all since you can't perform "well enough" at a specific combination.

I dropped from A+ to A in EMEA when I switched to GT7 and don't mind. As long as I have a chance of finishing mid pack when giving it my all, I'm having fun. Hopefully I'll get back to A+ in time, but staying in A or dropping to B is fine too!

Thanks and you are right about that. Went deep in a couple of turns with my modded GT-R, Nations cup rd.3 practice 😅 Despite having the brake text/signaling on.

is the R35 is the only real option in this race? I have an R32 sitting around but looking to save some dollars and not buy+upgrade from scratch

what they did to the Gr 4 Ferrari last week was a crime. they are trying so hard to eliminate meta cars that they create meta races.

i fail to see the point of having categories for different race cars if they're going to be nuked in ways that eliminate their uniqueness

that guy would have been seething when I won at N24hr on the first round of the Manu cup by not pitting and saving fuel. I think its key if you can stretch it and still have pace, you're actually on a better strategy
In my race the first 4 went with no stops.

Nice to have a daily at Deep Forest in Gr3, not that first week no one knew what was happening trying to 'tune' a Yaris experience.

Fun to attack the track in these cars for Qualy, looking forward to the racing.
