In group B… challenging 🥴

Where you in a Mann Livery? If so it was the race. I was in a AMG, silver Racing Veidec Livery.Unsure if that was my race. P2 was in a Merc also. I started on pole on the wrong tyres. Ended up crashing out on the esses up the hill, went wide on the kerb. Was driving too hard then the rest of the race went from worse to catastrophic 😂 oh well, live and learn
I think that was the race I gave away two positions on the last lap because I'm an idiot. Thanks for reminding me.I think I just had my first race with Grumpy Old Man - Race B. He started 5th and I (Slowpony17) started 7th. We each lost two spots.
This... Did probably 6-7 races yesterday on my day off and I was surprised at how strung out the fields end up after 10 laps. Even on one of my worst races, where I got 6.5 seconds worth of penalties I still managed a 6th place and had a realistic chance at 4th near the end. If you can keep your nose clean, avoid the 1.5 and 3 second penalties thru the COD, and don't get involved in any shoving matches (unfortunately had a hard time taking my own advice last night) there's a good chance for a top 5.C is pretty good man. The mix of tyres works well and you're never really out of it as people are making a LOT of mistakes and not just at the COD.
so I guided him gently over to Barry R. It was on a straight and he didn't wipe out, but it slowed him down enough so he could annoy me any further.

Edit: this is a Public Service Announcement.
If you are going to pit be sure to have a clear way in......

They call them widow makers for a reasonC is pretty good man. The mix of tyres works well and you're never really out of it as people are making a LOT of mistakes and not just at the COD. I think it's good that the absolute meta car pace wise is trying to murder you.
I was behind you earlier today. I'm glad I wasn't good enough to go side by side with you. However it was my most consistent race so far. I was able to run all 1.26s with a 1.25 at the end.I'm enjoying Daily Race B - I'm not sure why other people don't like it. Yes, there has been some paint scaping, and some pushing around, but so far I've given as good as I've received. I haven't seen anything vindictive, unless you consider a couple of races ago on the last lap, where a G70 kept hitting me from behind and almost caused me to lose it, so I guided him gently over to Barry R. It was on a straight and he didn't wipe out, but it slowed him down enough so he could annoy me any further.
Speaking of the G70, I saw a few people driving it, and I think it could work. It's faster than the Alfa, and more stable than the WRX, but it brakes slower, so it takes some getting used to. I may try it some more, we'll see.
So far I'm doing OK in the Alfa, climbing slowly but steadily up the DR A ladder. A few less mistakes on my part would help, but it's been fun.
But if I don't find a way to turn a better QT, I'm gonna get left behind. Earlier I turned two laps that if I could sew them together, would have given me a 1:24.7. So I know I'm capable of faster times, but unfortunately you have to actually do them, to get them.

I'm still trying to get good at it, but it appears that you should brake a little early, and try to coast around the corner as close as you can get, then carefully accelerate after the apex, but be careful of the sand up top. I suppose if you brake too early, someone might hit you. But otherwise, they have to brake too.Alright, how do you take the left hander on top of the hill in race B. Do you tap the brakes, downshift, or just hold off the throttle? I can't seem to enter or exit it well or consistently. I either slow down for a good entry and get whacked or carry to much speed and have to back out. For reference I'm using the alfa 155 and taking it in third.
I saw you out there. If I remember correctly, there was a lot of bumping around on that race. I hope I didn't bump you. And also, if I remember correctly, I thought you were ahead of me a couple of times. But I might be wrong.I was behind you earlier today. I'm glad I wasn't good enough to go side by side with you. Whew! I thought for a moment you were going to feature me. There have been a handful of races where at the start, I took the inside on T1 Lap 1 and passed a few people. I didn't do anything dirty (at least I don't think so), but I'm sure at least one of the drivers I passed wasn't happy. But for the most part, I just slotted right in between other drivers. I should probably post a collage and see if people think I'm being dirty.Sometimes you just know things are gonna get frisky...
A small nudge when there's a decent gap and you're faster isn't dirty, so wouldn't say that about you.Whew! I thought for a moment you were going to feature me. I started p11 and all that bumping you remember opened the door for P5, right behind you.I'm still trying to get good at it, but it appears that you should brake a little early, and try to coast around the corner as close as you can get, then carefully accelerate after the apex, but be careful of the sand up top. I stay in third. And the way I got used to the correct speed (assuming I actually am using the correct speed) is that during Qualifying, if I could downshift to 2nd once I got around the corner, then I was going too slow. But it's right on the edge of that speed, if that makes sense.

You can probably ignore my suggestion as I can't seem to lap quicker than 1:27 but come race with the vagabonds in the low DR B lobbies I can (mostly) hold my own. I'm in the Alfa and I start the bottom of the hill in 2nd, change up to 3rd mid way, then just before turn-in, touch the brakes and shift down to 2nd, then accelerate and then shift back up to 3rd mid turn (or something like that). You can probably see how I do it in the video below. My approach changed by following the lines posted from the replays of others. Search for gtp7 in the replays and then loading their ghosts.Alright, how do you take the left hander on top of the hill in race B. Do you tap the brakes, downshift, or just hold off the throttle? B lobbies can get a bit wild!Sometimes you just know things are gonna get frisky... Started P5 with 2nd account and noticed dude behind had a B/B rating - no idea why he was in a lobby full of A/S and B/S players.

You seemed a little faster than me actually. But I am pretty consistent so race pace is higher than lap paceYes was mine, Bathurst Mann livery.
Was hoping for a good race but got caught out on the kerb and sent into a spin. 1 thing I try not do is quit. Even if I come last. Never know what might happen.
Might catch you in a race again, hopefully I won't bin it 😂
NB: 1 think I've noticed is how sensitive the pit lane line is. Barely touch it and I've had a penalty
Guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow night then 🤣 Well done mate 😎@TechnoIsLove :

Phew, this one was a grind... At first I thought that my ugly little Alfa doesn't like me anymore. Took a lot of laps to get it going.
Can I just have 95% of your talent please?@TechnoIsLove :

Thanks, but honestly, I think it's not talent but rather tenacity. There are some real talents in this very forum. Can I just have 95% of your talent please?
Well tenacity breeds talent. Some people are born with natural talent while others earn it. You earned it.Thanks, but honestly, I think it's not talent but rather tenacity. There are some real talents in this very forum.
Didn't we already talk about Imposter's Syndrome? Someone told me once that we should just learn to say "Thank you". Hard to do, though...Thanks, but honestly, I think it's not talent but rather tenacity. There are some real talents in this very forum.
As are most of us, for sure.Me in comparison. I’m just a hack. 😁
Yep. No reward in going deep, hit the apex guys, always hit the apex. It's not a circuit that rewards a high, squared up line. Maybe the last corner but that's specifically to try and make a pass. T2/3 is the worst, guys barrel in there and i'm like nice work ya wally, all the time is on exit here. Why do so many people think late braking at Seaside is a good idea? Honestly, all of the hard braking zones lead onto long(ish) straights. Earlier braking for better exit speed is MUCH faster. If I had a dollar for every dunce who is trying to eke every last meter out of the braking zones, only to lose half a second a lap on the straights, I could buy the Jag I’m having so much fun with.
& its usually the same 'drivers' who think COD is a legit passing opportunity... 🤦♂️Why do so many people think late braking at Seaside is a good idea? This was my first (and only so far) b race this week. It was wild! I started P9 and finished P6 having lost out P5 by 38/1000s of a second. I actually put some effort into this video as it was kind of fun. Did a multi-cam edit (4 views) with voice over. @BruceAlmighty was also in this one!
EDIT. It appears the 4K version hasn't finished processing so you may want to wait before watching..
Be careful what you ask for!
