Going to tackle Daily C at some point this week. Looks a decent race, but shame the pit bug has spoiled this.

So seen a lot of chat about what is the best car to use etc...made me think. Is they an easy way to find out what car suits which BOP type? I know GTEngine site has a list of cars and does show the BOP but I don't really understand how the figures work.
I.e Gr3 cars. Daytona Road Course. I assume this is a High BOP track and the cars to use are Supra and Jaguar.
This week at Grand Valley it is a Medium BOP track and so far the top 10 is made up of 6 different cars. Is they an OP Medium BOP car?
Basically what I'm asking for or wanting to know. Is they an easy list that ranks the cars into what BOP they are suited for?
So ive been away from GT and decided to jump back on it because of PSVR2 what is this pit bug you speak of? Lol

Genuinely don't enjoy it, no flow to it, awkward and irritating turns.. fair play to those having fun on it but it's an eurgh for me.

Much prefer more real life additions to the game.
Agree, much as it's nice to see old favourites return, new lick of paint or not, I don't actually think Grand Valley is a good track to race on, it's too tight and awkward, and most of the only opportunities to overtake are divebombs.
I don't think the track limits at this iteration are any good either, there's no kerbing etc. as runoff like on a proper circuit so you just get penalties for going a millimetre too wide on a flat surface. I get it's just "the white lines" but it doesn't feel satisfying when there's still like another foot of road outside of the lines that would make for a good edge of the track, it feels like the track is much narrower than necessary. If you're going to make a street circuit with tight margins, make me hit a wall instead :P

I see the appeal of it but it's basically every type of corner I dislike in one track.

The thing about Grand Valley is that is looks absolutely stunning. Last summer me and my girlfriend went to the US for a trip down the westcoast and drove over that bridge. So it does bring back memories to me. But i don't enjoy the racing on it. I much preffer circuits like we had the last couple of weeks, like Dragon Trail.

I do enjoy Trial Mountain as a track though, but not with Gr. 4 cars. So it looks like it is not going to be my best week...

Which track you referring to?

Times as starting to drop and fast now! I improved by 0.4 seconds but went down 100 places 😂😅

Brake balance back for Race C! Greatest week ever. Please let it be permanent. This should help open up car options.
Say what? I'd absolutely LOVE to have BB, it really makes a massive difference to me. I tend to dive into corners, i don't carry a lot of mid corner and then boot it out hard. So I need some forward BB on cars like the RSR to make them work for me.

Yeah it's a rubbish track imho. Looks wonder, great for cruising in an older car if that's your thing but as a racing circuit is rubbish. Said it before and will say it again, too many gimmicky tracks in GT7 now, we desperately need Road America, a proper big, traditional circuit made for racing.

Looks like Race b for me this week, which cars look strong? Hard to tell until I jump on.

Here's a fun conundrum to have: Back down in a B lobby, pole position. Managed a win even with 1.5 seconds of track penalties. It was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Here's my problem: Another win or two like that and I'll be back up in the A lobbies, starting P12 or something, which absolutely sucks on this track.

So what do I do? Intentionally tank a few positions so I can stay a B for the rest of today (which isn't very long now that I think about it), or go ahead and move back up to A (assuming I didn't jinx myself with this post).

What would you guys do?
I would just race. As good as possible and as clean as possible. The problem of ending up in a faster lobby will always happen

Mustang, TT, Swift and the GT86 seem the strongest in the lobbies I get thrown in!

It is interesting that you can't adjust brake balance in the settings before the race but you can when you are on-track.
Really? I love it. What don't you like about it?
I think it's only going to be Trial Mountain for me this week, at least I'm enjoying it.

Grand Valley is too narrow, unless you're ahead and clear of the packs, it's a guaranteed wreck-fest!

Even accidental, mild contact sends you off track and into the barriers/ wall. And with penalties and damage on wall contact, it would be just a frustrating, SR-lowering walk to the finish line in last place 🤐

I must be the only one that genuinely loves hammering GVH1, though I agree that it may be a terrible track for racing due the how people will try to overtake. I'll find out when I am up again those nasty humans in a race later today and not the easy to conquer AI cars. It will be a great track if you can get pole and stay in front and time trial it; a bad track if you are mid pack. Guess where I'll be. It won't be pole... The saving grace with race C this week is that as it is 10 lap, people may be in less of a hurry to wreck you out to overtake and the track may spread out allowing for safer passing attempts. Lap 1 will all be about survival mode though; getting around without ending up in a rock face.

Trial Mountain may be the better race track but for some reason it just doesn't gel with me. Honestly, with the turns I think it is no better than GVH1 but perhaps it being wider helps. I think part of the reason I may dislike it is that it is used for a lot of tests in the single-player mode and has been around forever (which may be why others like it) so psychologically, I figure everyone else will be better at it than me as I've only been racing two months... Also Gr.4 cars? Those feel slow on that track.

I would love Road America! Of course I'm biased as it is just up the road from me and my avatar picture is from there :)

I do remember the old track on GT3,4 & 5, and I remember driving round there but I don't actually remember how good the quality of racing was on any of those games.

As for the new updated track... I like it and I don't like too.

Track layout I actually like it. Reminds me kind off like the old track as I remember thinking back then it was quite technical and this version feels like that, but the thing I don't like is the gravel/sand and the walls. I feel like I can't push the car to limits. Dip a wheel on it and your in the barriers. Also the wall make the track feel really narrow too. Needed some racing curbs adding to help with the corners.

Scenery I like that too. Looks great but doesn't have any racing feel too it. Would be nice if we had a Le Mans style track. Some proper race track that then went off onto the sea front roads.

Racing not done a proper race yet but yeah looks like overtaking is hard.

So on Grand Valley if you was doing a race with a pit stop, what was happening was the other cars were pitting and exiting the pits fine, but on your screen it was showing them as if they stuck in the pits. Also the cars were ghosted and you couldn't even see them.on track so you don't know if you overtake people or not. That's why this week's race has been changed to X1 tyre and fuel so people don't have to pit

Wow thank you

I managed to change BB in the settings - is it something to do with whether you've got the brake adjustment added from the Tuning Shop?

I only tried it on the one car so far so perhaps it was just that one. It may have been that I did not have it installed from tuning but the BoP added it once we started the race? 🤷‍♂️

I tried a couple more cars for B. I’m slow, 2.5s behind Grumpy. I liked the handling of the Renault there but it’s probably slow and it’s just me liking it.

Don’t forget to upload your fastest laps.

I’m still fixed on Race C, maybe I’m in the minority but I think the track flows really well… good mix of corners, cambers, something for everyone and the views…! Iconic imo, will become a classic (in my head). My favourite moment is lap 8 into lap 9 as the sun sets and the lights come on in the tunnel chefs kiss. My favourite daily since Road Atlanta/Mx5 combo.

Sticking with the Jag in the race, tried the Ford GT and it was fun.. really nicely balanced through the technical middle bit. But, it’s slow in the race start and too understeery for me, I’ll end up in the barrier too often I reckon. Jag was consistent laps in the 1:49s which is good enough for me. Two races, two podiums!

I haven't done C yet and if I'm honest with myself I prefer the sprint races in mediocre odd race classified cars to the banzai stuff.

B has always been my fav for practical and performance reasons and the shorter duration fits my grown up life a little better.

I know it's only Monday, but I think my time for Race A is already in the top 200, with it being a little over 1:19. I might do some hotlaps for Race C, too, if only to experiment with how making BB setting available changes things.

I just uploaded a QT at Trial Mountain using the Audi TT with no assists (except ABS) of 2:00.237, and someone else has shared an even lower time. I made a handful of obvious mistakes, but that's OK. If you need a ghost slower than the leaders, this might help:

I hear what you guys are saying about Trial Mountain, but to me, it's a good track (with a few boring straights), and most of the turns are pretty-well defined as to where and what to do. The one that I regularly struggle with is the final chicane, but so does everyone else, so it's OK. There's lots of places to improve time, too, even when you think you've got it down pretty good.

For those of you that've seen TM for a long time and just don't like it, I can't offer much. But if you're giving up on it too quickly, watch some QT leaders (or a shared QT as mentioned above). Once you understand the flow better, you might enjoy it more. I'm only pushing because this is one of the few tracks that I feel fairly comfortable on, although I'm sure I'll still get creamed if I get stuck in A lobbies.

If I get time I'll upload my 1:59:2 lap, it's only good enough for a top 500 hundred in the TT. I think I could go quicker in the Mustang but I don't feel I need to.

Edit: I'm in B lobbies so making hay while the sunshine's ;)

I think we're all talking about Grand Valley, not Trial Mountain. At least I am. I love Trial Mountain.

Maybe - I'm assuming that BB is available on the loan cars once you're actually driving?

Really enjoying C for my first time racing online in VR, chose the Mazda RX Concept as it grips all the turns nicely, though loses a lot on the long straight, was able to take 3rd place in a DR B lobby on my first try. It was a really violent race though people don't know who to dive side by side in such winding track

I just jumped on to try a few cars, the track is one I enjoy except hat last chicane, awkward for the sake of awkward.

Absolutely CANNOT get my head around the TT, feels so alien, no real idea when it will understeer off or rotate. Could barely pull a sub 2.01 in it.

Silvia: Feels nice but just not fast enough.

Ferrari: Tidgney used it, absolutely terrible. Horrible understeer, can't rotate it to save my life. 2.00.8

86: May be the best race car. Optimal 59.4 but only managed a 59.8. Still, easier to drive than the stang.

Suzuki: Feels absolutely useless, bog slow, then I crossed at 59.4. Wow. Can't race with it, will be eaten by TT and Mustangs.

Mustang: Doesn't feel great tbh, little sloppy, gearbox is slow, but crossed in a 59.2.

Any other RWD car worth a shot? Jag? Vette? Anyone? Bueller?

I can't stand the sound of the TT. Sounds asthmatic. Worked for my QT time and races have been ok though. Will look to try a different car tomorrow if my streak of Top 7 finshes end. Got make up that DR when on a roll right...right??

For the Race C folks: what is the effect of brake balance on this track? I can never really tell the difference when I go forward or back on the balance. Any advice?
