From the testing I've done it looks like the Astin is going to be strong for next week's B. The Porsche is up there but it's going to be hard to be consistent. The front end gets pretty floaty in the sector 1.

I seem to recall that one can't just bounce from X to Y DR within a race. Even if you earn the next rung up (or down) you'll stay at the rating you are for a few more races where you can still nullify the move in rank. This was to keep people from bouncing DRs race-to-race.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but I think that if I race again and earn any DR points, I'll definitely get back to DR A. Maybe you're thinking of the fact that when I dropped down to B, it put my progress bar at 90%, which means it takes a few races to get back to A?

In any case, until I get my SR back up to A, it won't matter anyway. (I forgot about that.)

Dangit, now I want to race some more to get my SR back to A. Ah, the heck with it - the wife won't mind. (Famous last words.)

Something like that. There is just a delay between promotions/demotions.

RIP in peace.

Hours do you practice the upcoming races before them going live?

BTW the 911 Carrera RS ClubSport (993) ‘95 is in the used lot if you don’t have one. This one is bound to sell out tomorrow.

It depends. I like to get some good practice in while trying multiple cars on the tracks. I spend about 1-3 hours practicing. Perhaps a better metric is percentage. I race probably 10-15 hours running dailies per week, so between 10%-20% of my time each week is dedicated to practicing for the upcoming week.

On another note, I'm finally back in town and can race! Was hoping to run a few race b tonight to finish it up but I just bought the aforementioned 993 (95) and the Skyline Silhouette 84 is at the LCD and bought that too. Bought the Penzoil Skyline last week too. I'm broke. So gonna run some trial mountain and gv races (make money and practice! )

Everyone good luck this week! Bummed about the pits but very excited nonetheless!

I got those cars as well. I did some more race B this evening. My racing has dropped to a DR B/SR B. S-> B in one week. That’s race B for you. This evening was a total wreckfest with the SR B crowd but I’m over getting worried about it and just go with the flow. That’s probably my my SR dropped to B. 🤦‍♂️

Anyway. Last race was super entertaining and quite fun even in the chaotic mid pack. That one is finishing my week and will go on YouTube. 😁

Got to say I’m not a huge fan of Trial Mountain. I do like Grand Valley though and after spending hours on it this week to Gold Curcuit Experience I think I have a good handle on Highway 1. Taking the Porsche around the South course though I’m not so sure about. I did a time trail to test out the Porsche. Got a 1:21.496. Have no idea how that stacks up yet but I appear to lap in the 1:22s typically.

Never really got a decent QT time for B race this week and after hearing the horror stories I didn’t bother trying to race it.

Got underway with VR and actually had a great time at A race rallying tonight. Did A race on Monday and I was slow and then come Wednesday, I was even slower in VR. Have been racing offline and finally jumped in some lobbies for next week B& C races and I’m getting somewhat faster as I’m getting more used to racing in VR. Just another learning curve.

Looking forward to some good races next week and fingers crossed that they aren’t wreck fests!

Tried my hands at the sports for the first time a couple of days ago somewhat liked it and ok
But tried it again yesterday only to be matched in two races on barcelona with the same annoying dude who just kept ramming people..... :(

The first race I even had qualifed for a second pole position but mr.divebomb in his stupid gr3 black mustang with a joker face in the rear was only in it to spoil the fun for the rest of us....

The second race I qualified pole 5 and same A**hole was in the game but this time it was not only him doing it I saw other drivers began to zigzag when you started closing in on them so yeah not sure I will spend anymore time or money on sport mode....

Tough week of race B last week, not only was the race so short - couldn't for the life of me get my Q time under 1:41:00. Worst week of SR too, just couldn't find a race that wasn't a contact fest, even trying to drop back towards the back of the grid to get some clean laps and still receiving contact/being pushed into another car resulting in me getting penalties - really don't understand how it was so bad after a clean week previously.

Not entirely sure how SR works but it seemed more straightforward to get clean laps on a longer race where the field gets spread out a bit, with 4 laps there didn't seem to be much opportunity to get away from dirty drivers (if you're an average driver like me).

Guess the lesson is to stop playing once your SR starts to tank because it just gets progressively worse very quickly if you aren't careful

If you didn't see, Race A and Race C have both been updated to only have 1x tire wear with pitting disabled.

This really takes the enjoyment out of the longer race C for me, the best part for me was having the split of strategies on the different tyres.

Looks like another week of race B for me!

Race C …., first lap mayhem as anticipated, given the field.

Matchmaking remains a nonsense. Finished 4th ranked C/S in my first race. The trouble is I was 12th because of the 8 B ranked drivers unsurprisingly finishing in front of me. What is the point in setting a reasonable Q time if your reward is to donate your own DR to someone already ranked higher than you? Oh, all the B’s were SR A or B with the unfortunate C drivers all being SR S.

Getting v.tired of PD and their idea of “fair & competitive” racing.

enjoy your last race...! 🤣 🤣
RIP in peace.
I’m assuming you mean “Race In Peace” for Grumpy. Funny how we haven’t heard back from him, though . . . .
LOL. Actually, I got a sudden case of vertigo and couldn't race. Couldn't even walk very well. Maybe it was my body's way of protecting me from the Mrs. (She's not like that at all, but it's funny and she'd laugh.) Fortunately, I think I'm better this morning.

I practice until I think I can drive the course well enough to not constantly crash. Then I look at my friends' QTs and see if I think I'm close to a not-horrible time, or I skip to the next part: I try a race, and figure out what to do from there - more races, or more QT.

Yeah, My SR tanked last week too. Glad that's over with.

Really? I love it. What don't you like about it?
Got underway with VR
I ordered mine a couple of days ago. Can't wait to try it out, but I'm sure I'll have to ease into it slowly because of motion sickness.

Don't give up yet!

Or let your DR tank and fix your SR by dropping to the back and racing carefully for a few races.

Off work till Wednesday as tomorrow's my birthday and looks like ( 🤞🏻 ) might be getting some positive, birthday vibes this week 😁

Has anyone had a try yet on the B and C races this week? Good luck!

The amount of DR you lose/take from people depends in their rank relative to yours.

Its unlikely you "donated" much DR to higher rated drivers that the game expects to beat you anyway.

Going to tackle Daily C at some point this week. Looks a decent race, but shame the pit bug has spoiled this.

So seen a lot of chat about what is the best car to use etc...made me think. Is they an easy way to find out what car suits which BOP type? I know GTEngine site has a list of cars and does show the BOP but I don't really understand how the figures work.
I.e Gr3 cars. Daytona Road Course. I assume this is a High BOP track and the cars to use are Supra and Jaguar.
This week at Grand Valley it is a Medium BOP track and so far the top 10 is made up of 6 different cars. Is they an OP Medium BOP car?
Basically what I'm asking for or wanting to know. Is they an easy list that ranks the cars into what BOP they are suited for?

I had a quick practice session last night for Race C, I found the Jaguar quite useful qualifying lap time wise as I felt I could get the nose tucked in really nicely in 1st gear so I'm going to give it a go. If it turns out to be spectacularly slow... back into the meta

I can't wait to be done with work... first time in a while I'm really looking forward to the Daily races!
I think it's only going to be Trial Mountain for me this week, at least I'm enjoying it.

Grand Valley is too narrow, unless you're ahead and clear of the packs, it's a guaranteed wreck-fest!

Even accidental, mild contact sends you off track and into the barriers/ wall. And with penalties and damage on wall contact, it would be just a frustrating, SR-lowering walk to the finish line in last place 🤐

Genuinely don't enjoy it, no flow to it, awkward and irritating turns.. fair play to those having fun on it but it's an eurgh for me.

Much prefer more real life additions to the game.

Well I just logged in for my first Race C, stuck with the Jag and set a reasonably quick qualifying lap. Started 3rd, ended up in a nice slot in 2nd 2 seconds behind the leader and 7 seconds ahead of the pack so I could get a nice flow and man was it enjoyable; I love the track personally, it has the most character of any of the ‘fictional’ tracks on GT and the transition from day to night during the race was beautiful. I was actually quicker at night especially getting more confidence through that final tunnel when it is lit!

I do love strategy in race C but it was nice to just grind this and not worry about anything except learning/enjoying the track. I might stick with the Jag but I noticed the Ford GT race car seemed properly quick so I might give it a go (it sounds the nuts doesn’t it!)
