To say I'm not enjoying Daily Race B would be an understatement of Biblical proportions.

Agreed! I'm very excited. Although I will be at a disadvantage at GV as I didn't run any laps in it last week.

Still bummed about 4 laps though in B
Perfect races after the update. Even the Gr.4 is a good test for what the 4wd nerfs are going to feel like.

Getting my VR2 tomorrow so next week at GVHW1 is going to be amazing racing

What's said is that they could literally build a script and allow the script to randomize the events. It would do a better job.

Also, there should be 5 daily races like the original GT6 quick race. The World Series events should have been a separate mode.

While I'm here, HEY PD, how about some penalties for the clown show of contact happening? Everyone is out there using their cars as a weapon with no repercussion. Losing SR isn't deterrent enough. People need to be losing positions in races with 0.5-1.5 second penalties
Agreed. Today there was this A+/S guy in Race B who was doing great, starting every race behind and finishing top 2-5. Except he gained EVERY position by contact. No penalties given. Everyone in the lobbies agreed his driving was plain dirty, and it was, I watched the replays. He just didn't care about ruining other people's races including mine, shoving me off track twice in consecutive races. He should've gotten multiple penalties and SR drop.

It pisses me off that one can get away with driving like that and be rewarded for it. The dude was not able to make a single clean pass during those 3 races, yet he didn't get a single penalty, didn't get SR drop and actually gained DR. No wonder how he got that A+. His strategy seems to be working. Just push everyone outta way.

I’ve noticed that those sorts of people behave as if they’re entitled to your space simply because they’re faster. They’re basically abusing the rest of us like we’re AI drivers getting in their way!

To be honest, every once in a while, if my SR is high enough and I simply can’t take any more, I’ll rub them off at one of the turns where they’re making contact. It’s not my go-to move anymore because I want to be clean, but sometimes justice is messy. . . .

[I may or may not have done that to an obnoxious lunatic this evening. I admit nothing!]

I actually had another thought today about a possible revision to the SR system (obviously these are things that will never go any further than one's brain).

I think it should be reflected as an AVERAGE rather than a running total. It would filter out those suckers who bounce up and down through the rankings, reaching the summit only to wreck someone's race and then fall back into the depths. The rating would be something totally cherished.

Everyone would have to start with maximum SR of course, and it would probably need a much higher cap than 99.

It's wild in Race B, proper wild man. Penalties have to be harsher for contact, people are shoving past, there's no penalty for side contact. It's properly crazy.

This track just blows. It's extremely punishing with ticky tack penalties yet not enough for rammers and bumpers. It's like ****** Laguna Seca. Laguna will straight up end your race if you can't drive it or you try to bump a lot.

Aye, like this one by @con360

Used a few cars in TT for race B this week, didn't track sectors but my times were, I don't use ghosts but I have shared the replays of the first 3 if anyone wants to use them
BRZ: 1:38.8
Huracan: 1:38.9
4C: 1:39.2
650S: 1:39.6
I think the G70 or Audi TT is gonna be hot. Pure instict. Have not done a single run to verify yet

Yeh its crazy the lack of penalties for punting (bumping is fine)... for example they left the barrier penalties (which is useless at this track) but have no contact penalties? please resolve PD!

That being said I LOVE the track. I love the minute details you have to pay attention to. For reference I loved recently runs at deep forest, laguna, willow, and Sardegna (not sure what that says about me)

Finally got the chance for some racing today, over the weekend as well expect for the cup final tomorrow (howay the lads!).

Looking at the comments it might be worth turning it into a clean race challenge rather than looking for wins.

Though I do enjoy the track at Catalunya, something fun about being in the mid pack there, got a proper GT racing feel.

Shame it's only 4 laps.

What cars are everyone running there? And how are you all finding the other two races?

How the heck did I drop from SR S to SR C in the span of 4 races? Yes I hit some people, none of which was intentional. I got a ton of penalties, and one single race dropped me from SR S to SR B.

I don't get it. And what's worse, I'm going to have to run some races and move straight to the back, and stay there the whole race and not touch anyone. I know I'll drop back to DR B, but if my SR gets any worse, I'll get dropped back automatically and my DR progress will be cut to 50%. This is the first time I'm happy they made it such a short race.
Gave in and gave the 911 a go in race B today instead of the brz dropped my time from 1:40.7 to 1:40 flat within a lap its crazy how much faster it is
I bit the bullet earlier this week and gave it a go, because for some reason I've hated the 911, but as soon as I got used to it, I wondered what in the world I was thinking - it's a great car, and fun to drive.

This track invites many different lines and brake points depending on skill and car. A lot of the incidents I've had are because of massive speed differences coming in or out of corners and there is not enough time/space to react. On top of that most people are spun out in corners and therfore spin out on the track vs spinning off the track. Once one
car goes its just a bowling alley for those behind.

I did a couple of race B in the early hours of the morning with varying results.

Race 1 started off with a mostly DR B/ SR S crowd (I've dropped back to a SR A after quitting a race the other day) and the opening lap was spectacular. I was mid pack, starting 8th, and held that in some super close racing where everyone managed, for the most part, avoid each other. My race got killed though by a GT glitch. It's the only thing I can think of. Entering turn 10, I get tapped from behind and it is relatively minor and I get rotated onto the alternate track. I could recover easily and probably not even lose a place when I suddenly get teleported back onto track five places back. In an instant I lose 5 spots. I never recover from that. I reviewed my settings afterwards, thinking that perhaps I had the reset back to track switch on, but no. So I've no idea why this happened. All I know was that it ruined my race.

Race 2, I started higher up the grid and by end of lap 3 I was up to 3rd. As is won't to happen, final lap I caught my back wheel on the curb at turn 6 which threw me off at turn 7 causing me to drop to 5th. Recovering from this, I was a bit discombobulated which allowed 6th to catch up by turn 10. There he dives and uses the side of me as a brake. He ultimately takes 5th and I get 6th. In the chat afterwards I say "Not Cool!" to him and he replies "'lil tap" like he's proud of it. What as ass. It's move like that where we need the penalty system. If he'd got, say a 2 second penalty, he would have lost the spot he'd gained from the move in the final rankings. Something like this perhaps?

Bump in rear but no change of position +0.5s
Bump in rear causing gain in position +2.0s **
Hit to side but no change in position +1.5s
Hit to side with change in position +4.0s **
Bump/Hit that causes other car to go off track +10s **

** Yielding your position back to the affected car before the next penalty board - no penalty.

I don't know if anyone else has tried the RX Vision for qualifying at Daily Race B, but if you haven't tried it, I recommend giving it a shot. I had a "best potential time" (or whatever its called) of a quarter of a second faster than my current best. I just need to get turns 5-9 down (see here) better and more consistently, and I think I can improve my best QT by a substantial amount. (Always the optimists, aren't we?)

Next weeks dailies are...

As a frequent Race A entrant, I'm actually sort of looking forward to this one. I haven't been doing the current Race A at all, since I'm unsure about how fun a dirt race could be, even though it's a far cry from the Gr.B rally cars. My only question is that I wonder why they're featuring the '95 Porsche and not the original Carrera RS that was just added? Maybe the '95 one has more downforce?

If it didn't sound like a dying cat I might give it a whirl

The current Race A is actually quite fun but I just suck at GT7 rallying so after a few goes and mostly coming last, I gave up on it. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm slower than everyone, I did have a good time on it.

idn't sound like a dying cat I might give it a whirl

Yeah, I need to turn the volume way down for that one.

Not a dying cat, just a severely asthmatic one.

Hey, hey, hey! Don't diss rotary engines!! I had RX7s for years and years - one of each generation, including the twin-turbo FD. The sound is music to my ears! Not as good as Rob Dahm's 4-rotor RX7, though. This link will take you right to the part of the video that shows what a 4-rotar rotary engine should sound like. And look like, with flames out the pipes:

They need to add a small basket next to the exhaust of that car that you can put a couple of hot dogs in for a quick snack post fire spitting race run! :D

Interesting! One of the late week cars that I saw doing well was the Ford GT 18. We raced together twice and in one of them I got P2 and he won by more than 5 seconds!

As a side note I got a 3rd place in the Jaguar which was fun.

I don't give much two shrimps about this week's dailys, but next week's look great! I've been practicing some laps at GV with all sorts of cars and there, at least according to my five lap trial runs, will be a lot of cars that will be competitive.

Doing very similar times in the AMG, Vette, Porsche, Ford GT 18, Lambo, and NSX.

I am a glutton for punishment... if the Lambo is an option I am using it a bunch!
