I’m going to try to sneak in with my Porsche motor!
Same here, I was lucky enough to not only win the engine, but then decide to put it in a Sambabus over a Beetle. Even if we're limited to a stock Sambabus, I still think this could be real fun. If we're allowed to bring one that's been swapped, I might see how well I can do with a rented Sambabus, then compare it to how I do with my own.

I want to love Race C, I really do. I’ve had good lobbies with mostly high A and A+ cars, which is a nice treat. But I only go backwards!!!! I’m too far behind to learn anything g valuable!

So seriously: how does one take the hairpin without out it simply being random luck of the draw? I can’t find it! I either slow too soon and take it too much inside and hot that weird camber, or brake late and inside and spin out on the camber, or maybe I slow down enough to take a middle line but then the car (ANY car) oversteers off the other side and I get a weird track limit penalty that I can’t quite locate. I NEED HELP!!!!
What car? The Jag and the Merc are incredibly tolerant of the hairpin. The tire marks on the track are a pretty good reference point.

Had a fun race (at last) at Spa, really had to drive my best. Started P9 but was soon P7 and had a cluster of 3 in front, all slower than I was.

The gap I built to the driver behind was soon gone since I was held, so had to manage offense and defence same time. Really enjoyed it. Was P5 half-way through the last lap but gave the place up to secure a P6 finish rather than risk the entire effort.

Was quite fun, some good and clean battles and fast, smart decision making 🙂

On a separate note, tried the Race C specs (GT3 with RS and factory standard, not exactly BoP) and had some interesting findings. 3 laps driving each car with same wheel settings.

Someone asked on Twitter. Race A is BoP so no engine swaps.

I wonder how that works when you have an engine swap? Are you just barred from entering? (I think the Online Time Trial at the Nordschleife, which featured the '02 NSX Type R and tuning, barred turbos, and you automatically get one if you install the NSX Concept-GT engine.) Or if you do enter, does it pretend you don't have the engine swap, and then the swapped engine is still there after the race?

I still think this could be fun, even with just the stock engine.

Engine swaps aren't eligible for entry into BoP events, so you just can't choose them.

Same with wide bodies, I believe.

just to expand a little on that: if Race A next week is BoP, it won't simply make your engine-swapped bus compatible. those won't even be seen as an option to select, and you'll need one without the engine (rental aside).

So I agree with a lot of what people have said here. It's a very tough corner that I mess up a lot... But here's what I've started doing to limit my mistakes. Should say also, I've found its easier to avoid that wheelspin/oversteer on exit by using a MR. But also, I don't consider myself blazing fast on this course or this corner. Just trying to limit mistakes and avoid cleaning out the corner on a pass or opening lap.

So my first point of reference is on the Right side of pit exit. There's a pylon and white line that I try to put the car closest to:
1.jpg

I start to slowly turn in aiming for the next white line and pylon on the Left side. I'm usually close to full throttle to the left pylon, but depending on the car, you might have to breathe it a bit there:

2.jpg

From there I stay on the throttle until I reach right before the 100 marker on the left. That's where I'm off the gas, and braking and downshift to 1st gear. If you do it similar to me, it will feel a bit fast for entry, but what I've found is it keeps me from picking up the gas to early. So I end up waiting on the car to turn before I pick up the gas and then a quick shift to 2nd to avoid the tirespin that you mentioned.

Here's a quick 15sec video showing all of that:

The Jag. I can’t get the Merc to turn anywhere! The problem I’m having is that if I slow down enough to turn in from the far left side they both want to understeer horribly.

The Jag is fantastic. I'm not taking the wide entry/late apex. I'm kind of diving in and following the tire marks.

I had the same issue with the Merc, not sure how people are wrestling them thru the esses.

Well it was bound to happen eventually. Had the VR give me the can't detect surroundings error during a race. @CmdrParabolus (didnt say hey btw!) probably flew by me wondering why I was sideways 😂

Happened right at the end of the esses at Deep Forest and next thing I knew it kicked back on and I went into the side wall. Race over. Bummer because I really like racing with this thing but man does it make me nervous with how random this error pops up.
Lmao. I did say hi, not in the lobby cuz I hopped on too late (pouring a bourbon) - but I did say hi in the pre-race drive! I promise! And yes I did see u slide by me... I had a great race and was in line for an easy podium when I pushed my worn mediums too hard on L13 and hit the wall leading into the final turn before the straight. WHEN WILL I LEARN to lay off!

Finish P8 - could have been worse tbh

I've not had much time these past 2 weeks to do much racing or QT. I've tried Spa and could
only get a 2:06, I like that track but need more time with the cars. Race C just didn't have time for it.
So I tried race A and set my best QT with the RCZ @ 1:14 something. Ran a few races and had pole
against some A A+ but the pressure was to much for me and finished P10. Next race same lobby and
started P5 and finished P3.

It was fun beating the TT's with that car.

I have noticed that when some of the embedded you tube videos end there are usually links to other videos.

Does anyone know how these apparently random links are selected?
Nobody knows, not even YouTube. The "Algorithm" is a "self-learning" POS (with severe learning disabilities) that keeps offering things you don't want, and it's gotten worse over the past year. I've also got a YouTube channel with lots of subscribers, and the way it picks and chooses what videos to promote is worse than throwing darts. I had one video that got over a million views in a reasonably short period of time, then suddenly nobody was watching it. It's like the Algorithm decided "that's enough for you."
The gap I built to the driver behind was soon gone since I was held, so had to manage offense and defence same time.
I hate when that happens.
Really enjoyed it.
You are a sick person. I always end up doing something stupid. On the other hand, I can do stupid things with no external pressure, so maybe it's just me. 🙄

I just ran a good 20 something laps of QT in the jag and it's definitely a solid car for quali and the race. Managed 1.24.712, which is almost a half second or more better than my old time that was also in the jag from earlier this week. shared the ghost with the gtp12 tag and ill share the replay here, had my best run through the hairpin and sector 3 by far on this lap as well.

I think the amg is a solid pick for the race because it's so predictable and easy on tires, I know the front end plows but if you can work around that with solid braking and steering inputs it's a solid car. In capable hands it is easily as quick as the jag I think, I can't get that much out of it though. I'll probably try the jag more for the race now, ran it once earlier in the week but wasn't impressed with the tire wear but I'll give it another shot and be more conservative on the strategy and run the hards a few more laps.

Let's say that you make a really dumb move and heavy punt an innocent guy at the RaceA bus stop.
Let's say that after the race the guy quickly exits the lobby / you are too slow manuvering the chat.

How do you send a message to the guy if you cannot match his gt7 nick with his PS nick?

Asking for a friend ....

I finally got around to giving race C a go tonight and I'm having the same issues. I've tried a few different cars but nothing feels great.

I never look at my speedometer but on this turn I make sure that I start taking it 40mph or below. The exit is still tricky but I at least have confidence I'm not going to spin at that speed.
I've tried out and in, in and out, gentle through the middle but the last bump always gets me.

I think under friends there is a tab of all the recent players you have played with.

This doesn't help though if you don't know the PSN ID. I misinterpreted your friends quandry.

I often-times leave the lobby quickly at the end, even if someone smashed me. When I do that, it's because I don't need an apology from someone - I know that stuff happens sometimes.

So if you happen to see him in the next race, go ahead and apologize. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

How's everyone's lap times in Race C during the race vs TT? I'm a full second slower during the race and can't haven't been able to get close. Wonder if it's the full tank of gas slowing things down. I do notice that I usually start mediums and can almost set similar times later in the race.

I'm in a weird spot in Daily Race B and can't get out of it. Frankly, I am a C/S grade driver and am currently rated low-end B/S, but I'm being put in a B/S lobby with some A/B folks. It doesn't help that, despite starting 10th-15th, I keep ending up in the top half due to others crashing out, cementing my position in this lobby despite honestly being a C/S driver. My best qualifying time is 2:06.198, and the folks around me in the race are setting 2:06.4-2:06.6. It feels crazy to be among them.

Today, for the first time, I took Pouhon two-wide! In case anyone is interested in watching how it looks, here's the video:

As luck would have it, I again got the chance to do the two-wide Pouhon in the same race! I executed it successfully, but unfortunately, due to wheel damage from T11, I couldn't complete it. Here's the video:

I absolutely love racing. Time trials and qualifying are not really my thing. If someone wants to make commentary on my racecraft in these videos, especially the second one at Bruxelles, I would honestly love it. Thank you in advance. :dopey:

I hate to break it to you, but it sounds like you’re not really a C/S driver anymore, especially if you’re doing two-wide through Pouhon. Welcome to the world of B/S racing!

Is the same like the clk driver. They came in hot without practise and overshoot. These 2 cars are not made to be quick in Spa.
Never blame the car for that. Even the modern GT2 cars can't brake at the 50 like that chowderbrain tried. I've been driving the CLK there this week and been destroyed by late braking GTRs most of the time. Poor driving is poor driving. Still sucks to get hit though.

You are kinda right, thats why i write they came in hot without practise. I won a couple of races in the clk but i was lucky to start from pole.

Three things, the first two of which I keep forgetting to mention.

1) I think it was last week at Lago Maggiore, when during the race someone chatted "I got slimed". If you've ever seen that scene in Ghostbusters, you know exactly what he was referring to, and it made me laugh so hard I almost went off the track.

2) Have you ever been at the start of a race, during auto-drive, when you feel like the car behind you is being overly aggressive? I mean, I know it's not really happening because everyone's being auto-driven, but it still feels that way. Maybe it's just me. 🙄

3) Last night at Spa, I started P5 and I didn't take T1 as well as I should have - not horrible, but not great. I got passed by cars before I got to Eau Rouge, during Eau Rouge, and because I got bumped around so much, I got passed on Kemmel, Les Combes, and, well, you get the point. People just kept shoving their way past me and didn't give a crap what happened to me. I could never "get any traction" if you know what I mean, and finally I red-misted and tried to take someone out who was bumping me around. It didn't go well for me. DNF. Ugh.

I haven't DNFed this much in months. Still like the course, but sometimes the experience isn't what I'd like it to be.

That is all. 😏

I dnfed ones, my fuse shorted after 4 races the same things happen, i got overtaken by a clk then he missed the corner, i want to pass him and he take me out because he couldnt stand his own mistake. I dont like it but this was enough for me and i sended him in a diffrent dimension 😈
