You miss the apex by a mile :D
I guess that's it.
I messaged Doodle, who's at #3 currently.
In the replay, I see that he smokes the hell out of his left front tire under acceleration at turn 3.
I asked him what's going on there. He said he's just over powering, and understeering.
I've already done hundreds of laps there, this week, and it can't be done with my controller.

So, clearly there's some kind of steering difference in GT7 between wheels and controllers.
Apparently, controllers can't turn the front tires quite as sharply as wheels can.

I think I've uncovered something. :odd:
Funny you mention that. Last week, after running 3 weeks straight on Mount Panorama with my controller in GTSports, I decided to get my wheel out of the closet. I immediately realize I could do turn in sharper than the controller. It was really apparent on the fast corner on the top of the mountain where I always do a small lift off to give more grip to front and be on the safe side. I could do them flat out with the wheel and correct the trajectory easily. (of course the correction is easier with a wheel.)

My point is, the controller have a lot of smoothness added to it. Also quite visible when watching the hands and steering wheel in cockpit view. With the controller, hands dont really move fast, with the wheel the hands match what's going on with my physical wheel

Have they changed the fuel for daily races after the latest update?

3 days ago, I did daily race 3 with the atenza... no stop, finished the race with 2% fuel left..

This morning I ran out second to last lap..

Majorly confused
What happens when you run out? Does it just park you where you ran out, warp you to pit lane, boot you from the game? Just curious.

Not every race has the same factors involved, or will have the same demands on fuel.

It could be a number of reasons, as someone mentioned above as simple as the wind being against you on the straight instead of behind you, but more importantly how much traffic you were in; how much slipstream you were able to get that would have helped your fuel usage, this will differ every time.

I'm sure you've figured it out now but I'd just recommend switching to your fuel screen after halfway in the race just to ensure it's showing enough laps left, and dropping back a mix or two until it does if you have to.

Decided to run a few late night lobbies in Race B. Took out some unfancied cars with the Mustang and the Supra. I had speed, but unfortunately there were cars in the way. And penalties abound. Standard tactic was to brake check me on exit or turn me into the wall enough to get me a penalty and slow me down.

Had 2 good drivers Iin the back with me who were managing to work through cleanly and cut past the crowds in the Atenza but I've had to set a qually lap now to have another go tonight.

Thanks for your help mate. I haven't been back on but will today, I'll keep an eye on it

Bruh, I think I'm done with race B for the week. Penalties given out for scratching a wall which only loses you time in the first place, and I have been shoved into the wall many times by others who haven't been given penalties (but I have 😁)

A fun race otherwise ruined by the penalty system. Oh well, can't say I didn't get at least a hundred laps out of it.
Edit: Also ruined by unfair times on the leaderboard, but I don't mind that so much.

Can't compete in Race A, due to having a wide-body conversion. Can't be undone, bought a new body - made no difference. Can't buy the car either. Back to GTS til Monday for me...
Strangely, any tunings can be undone if we buy a new engine or body. Only the wide body is a one-way street. I will skip this change from now on, at least for cars that can only be aquired as a gift or in the UCD/LCD.

Race C really irritates me and I don’t enjoy. Done it a few times but I’m glad it’s gone after today.

Was bored on GT7 so decided to give race c a go. 11 atenzas, GTR, Swift, Citroen GT & me in an Aston Martin. The lobby I joined was way above my skill. Top 7/8 cars were all in the 1.53/1.54 while my quickest time was a 1.57.9. Had to run the race in fuel mix 4 for 5 laps and then mix 3 for 4 which allowed me 1 lap at mix 1. Top 9 cars at the end were the Atenza with the Swift been the only other car making the top 10. I started and finished last. Couldn’t catch the cars ahead unless they made mistake.

I decided to get my alt account going on GT7 this morning, because I miss no-qual racing.
It took about 2 hours to get through menu book 9, which is when you're allowed to enter the daily races.

This is from the end of my first race, and shows how some idiots choose to deal with their inadequacies.

We both know I had him beat on the final turn exit. When he started swerving like a clown, I knew it wasn't gonna be possible to get past him, and I wasn't gonna go to the right and get knocked into the pit wall.
All I could do was stay on the gas, and let him do whatever he was gonna do. After he gave me 2 shots to knock me off the track, I made sure to scrape the wall too. I'm pretty sure that gave him an SR reduction.
I don't know where he started, but he ended up at SR B. I'm at S, so I shouldn't have see him again, anytime soon. 👍

Then again, those mouth-breathers at PD won't allow us to see our DR or SR points, so who knows.

If you can't beat them, join em.. at least you can be up the sharp end with it..

After being absolutely bent over by atenzas in my megane and hyundai gr4 a few weeks ago, I got myself one and haven't looked back.

I will when it gets nerfed though, lol.

So, I've tried nearly everything I can think of to make it through a race where I nearly always start on pole but finish 7th or worse. Why? Because I refuse to use Atenzas or RCZs and like challenges. So I whipped out the Citroen GT for giggles and it really works well but guzzles the petrol (apparently?). I've run lean for six or seven laps and when I say lean I mean 3 (is that not enough?) and I always lose it in the last one to two laps because I gotta box.

No I can't go lean at the beginning 2-3 laps because try hard Atenzas are all over me so I tried boxing early at lap 5 that didn't work, going to try pitting lap 3 this time and attempt to make up places...it should but be this difficult to win in a car that I lead all laps on for 90%+ of the race. Frustrated as hell with these fuel settings and yes I'm fast enough in the stupid atenza because I'm usually always on pole but I can't stand using the same car as everyone always does (or 4wd for that matter) so I never choose to race in it... onward thru the fog 😒

Mouth breathers at PD? You ruined your entire post with one dumb sentence. Do better next time than ad hominem attacks especially when you're playing the product of said "mouth breathers"... smart.

Yeah I bought one a week ago or so just to set a fast lap time for race C. I refuse to invest in a livery for it simply on principle so it stays default for me and I'll be damned if I ever race it in the event itself. The viper and huracan aren't that bad either.

I understand how you feel but if you were racing in real life and you made money from your racing I think you would pick the Atenza or the RCZ

Not sure what was so offensive about this post?

I’m a mouth breather and I found that funny (most might even argue I’m borderline a window licker too).

Unless by “do better”, you mean for him to make his post funnier… which I’m fully in support of

Not sure where to start with your Multi-posts content.

You claim to detest the meta cars then openly admit you buy them so that you can set pole position times. Seems a little like hypocrisy.

In the subsequent races, the so called “try hard” drivers of the acknowledged fastest car then have the audacity to challenge you in your “just for giggles” car selection. How dare they!

@sturk0167 is one of the more respected posters in our Forums. I find your criticism unappealing.

If I was your Atenza, I would be quite pleased that you didn’t apply a personalised livery.

Just my 2c. Stay safe.

Suggest you choose one strategy or the other:
a. fuel save and don't pit, or,
b. drive to the max and pit for fuel

Both fuel saving and pitting is a poor strategy for this combo.

Mouth breathers refers to a person's IQ..not heritage!
