This “selection” appears to confirm my belief that PD are actively trying to drop Sport mode entirely. :indiff::guilty:

EDIT: Wouldn’t be surprised if it rained at Red Bull.

Race A is a stock road Scirocco, which is a shame as this should really be a tuning race.

B and C should be appropriate levels of chaos though.

It’s crazy to me that the first week of online was the most fun.

All they had to do was figure out how to keep that one VGT out and every week we could be racing the cars that were encouraged to tune. That’s it. Keep the other two races “BOP” (how they execute this is another rant for another time).

It’s shocking and I can’t quite make sense of it. Aside from “they don’t care about Sport mode because it’s not revenue generating”. I can’t be the only person who went from exclusively playing Sport mode to grinding for credits, so even that’s a stretch.

Saying I should keep a road Scirocco on hand for a Race A in the future, but then letting me know that 0 amount of upgrades or time spent tuning carry over…. It’s just all so thoughtless.

“Find your own line”, my ass.

Thankfully RBR is a different race with penalties and not the divebomb battle royale it was on sport.

The group B race there in Nations was pretty good recently so hopefully it still carries that spirit, at least it's not Gr 4.

Race A should indeed be a tuning race. Even with my little knowledge am sure I could make the Scirroco drive better, it feels aweful to drive round there imo

Race B after a few GR.3 races at Monza the GR.4s will feel painfully slow but will try a few rounds

Race C Definitly a lessen in avoidance tactics, and making clean passes, could really do with some more tire strategy now Softs vs Mediums instead of Racing hards all the time. But this one seems like the most fun so will be speending most of my week here. Overall better than last week imo

I feel like its time we had some sort of dynamic weather F1 2021 did this quite well, with wet/dry races mixing up the stratergies.

My thoughts exactly. What's wrong with a One Make tuning race? It should mitigate the trouble we found with the open tuning bedlam we had last time around.

being asked to drive the scirocco like that for 10 laps feels like a practical joke. it’s a shame because I remember going up against some really competitive ones in week 1. they need to fix the PP issues and make Race A a non-VGT tuning race that rotates specs every week. It’s absurd it’s taken this long.

And a lot is said about how bogus the Atenza/RCZ domination is… but what really grates me with Gr 3/4 is that “BOP” makes certain cars impossible to drive. I guess I thought the categories were the balancing element, so I’m unsure why it’s necessary to then add 500 pounds to some cars and remove 89 HP from others. All while eliminating the ability to change something as simple as where the gears hit.

10 laps of that hateful scirocco is indeed a test of patience. I am useless when it cones to tuning and even I could make that brick drive better if you gave me 10 minutes. Combined with the classic known chaos always associated with Monza and RBR I think it's safe to say PD wants the penalty system heavily tested this week.

What brings you to that conclusion?
To me, the selection of tracks and vehicles are very repetitive based upon my experience in GT Sport.

Of the many tracks & layouts available, Monza was/is the 12th most used for Daily races. Red Bull Ring was/is 13th.This does not include FIA races.

GT7 has 63 possible track layouts. If you factor in weather, tyre & fuel wear, pit stops, car classes, tuning, and time/distance there are lots of options that could be selected.

To use standard GT Sport fare, to me shows a lack of imagination.

Being the 12th most used doesn’t really say anything. If all tracks were as represented as any other track there will always be one that’s the most represented and one that is the less represented.

We would need to see an analysis of the most represented tracks that shows the whole picture.

I do take your point. The numbers were provided as a point of reference.

Whilst analysis may be further revealing, it is my experience that personal perception, ”feelings” if you like, determine whether or not something is interesting. To me, this weeks selections could be far more interesting.

Just my 2c. Stay safe.

Old news now the races have switched but myself and a few others had a lot of fun disrupting the Atenza gang last night.

I even saw one ridiculously good driver show up a few times in the Silvia and take us all to school.

If people want to use the Atenza then fine, I had lots of good racing against those guys.

I accept the other cars here are still pretty good, I think the GT-R is close to the Atenza anyway but you can use at least a few different cars and still have a good time.

I can understand that. After a while most tracks on gr4 and gr3 do loose their interest. I like monza but not on gr4. RBR may be fun but it seems like it’s a no stop race which makes it less interesting.

What strategy did you use for fuel and tires?

"How many atenzas can I beat" seems interesting haha

Man the Silvia is so frickin fun! Really pushes you to the brink of insanity though...car gets blasted on the straights lol But ive bested quite a few Atenzas in my day. Im curious to see the new daily races

You sure? In GTS it was 'sport' to dive bomb people in T1, shoot by and go wide and the car that was hit got the penalty. Same at the end, go wide after touching a car, no ignoring track limits penalty and good chance the other car gets a penalty.

Monza is the same, cheater heaven. Touch a car before the chincane to get a free short cut and likely give the other car a penalty. Has that been finally fixed?

I doubt that.

Keep in mind this was Catalunya so not applicable to this week perhaps.

But in the GT-R I ran fuel map 1 the whole race and shifted on the yellow light on the dash. I would also lift at the 200 board into T1 if I had some margin to try and save some fuel so I could fully push at the end.

What really interested me was that I found it hard to keep with fast Atenza drivers in the first 2-3 laps but once I reached laps 4-6 it was like those guys had no front tyres left and I would run them back down for fairly easy passes in the final stages.

The guy I saw in the Silvia then seemed to have the same advantage on me, where he wouldn't be super fast lap 1 but the longer the race ran the bigger his advantage became.

Guy in the Veyron was very, very fast as well and would have won easily had he not had a mishap at the start.

Is it national dirty racers day today? I’ve never know so many cheaters and dirty racers since today. Done 3 races, 2 at RBR and 1 at Monza.

RBR race 1 was clean good racing,
RBR race 2 one driver in P3 didn’t want to be overtaken. He forced me off the track. Then when I caught up it looked like 4 others had been forced off too, then the magical thing happened. He dropped it at T4 and went into the barriers. Never laughed so much.
Monza race, one person didn’t set a Q lap and at the start decided the brakes don’t work. Plough into everyone. Completely ruined my race as I pushed over the curbs and the game thought I was corner cutting so put me back to the start of the chicane.
