Is it national dirty racers day today? I’ve never know so many cheaters and dirty racers since today. Done 3 races, 2 at RBR and 1 at Monza.

RBR race 1 was clean good racing,
RBR race 2 one driver in P3 didn’t want to be overtaken. He forced me off the track. Then when I caught up it looked like 4 others had been forced off too, then the magical thing happened. He dropped it at T4 and went into the barriers. Never laughed so much.
Monza race, one person didn’t set a Q lap and at the start decided the brakes don’t work. Plough into everyone. Completely ruined my race as I pushed over the curbs and the game thought I was corner cutting so put me back to the start of the chicane.

It’s Monday morning, the worst time to race each week. The new races only came out this morning, so no one has had any practice in yet, or hardly any yet anyways.

So, I've tried nearly everything I can think of to make it through a race where I nearly always start on pole but finish 7th or worse. Why? Because I refuse to use Atenzas or RCZs and like challenges. So I whipped out the Citroen GT for giggles and it really works well but guzzles the petrol (apparently?). I've run lean for six or seven laps and when I say lean I mean 3 (is that not enough?) and I always lose it in the last one to two laps because I gotta box.

No I can't go lean at the beginning 2-3 laps because try hard Atenzas are all over me so I tried boxing early at lap 5 that didn't work, going to try pitting lap 3 this time and attempt to make up places...it should but be this difficult to win in a car that I lead all laps on for 90%+ of the race. Frustrated as hell with these fuel settings and yes I'm fast enough in the stupid atenza because I'm usually always on pole but I can't stand using the same car as everyone always does (or 4wd for that matter) so I never choose to race in it... onward thru the fog 😒
I was right behind you one or two times on Saturday. (As a Chiefs fan, I had to fight the urge to punt you off the track!) We have similar impressions of and approaches to that same Catalunya race, and nearly identical times and finish. I tried around 10 different Gr.4 cars and only found a few that could be competitive without a pit stop. I bounced from map 1 for the straightaways and 6 for the twisties to make it to the end. The Citroen was one of them. But it was an Atenza event, no way around it. So I'm wondering what the meta-car is going to be at Monza this week?

I decided to get my alt account going on GT7 this morning, because I miss no-qual racing.
It took about 2 hours to get through menu book 9, which is when you're allowed to enter the daily races.

This is from the end of my first race, and shows how some idiots choose to deal with their inadequacies.

We both know I had him beat on the final turn exit. When he started swerving like a clown, I knew it wasn't gonna be possible to get past him, and I wasn't gonna go to the right and get knocked into the pit wall.
All I could do was stay on the gas, and let him do whatever he was gonna do. After he gave me 2 shots to knock me off the track, I made sure to scrape the wall too. I'm pretty sure that gave him an SR reduction.
I don't know where he started, but he ended up at SR B. I'm at S, so I shouldn't have see him again, anytime soon. 👍

Then again, those mouth-breathers at PD won't allow us to see our DR or SR points, so who knows.

This happened to me but I tried to pass on the right and got smashed into the pit wall. No penalty for other driver.

But…then I raced him again and made his life hell. 😅

Depends. In GT Sport Monday mornings were usually the best time to race. People were still careful or mostly wrecking themselves. As the week goes on more people find out how to abuse the penalty system and where it's 'safe' to push people off the track :ouch:

Tuesday was usually worse then Friday during school hours was the best. Today is a triple whammy, new races, no school, new physics / bop.

Very happy for my two most favorite tracks in brands and monza this week after the poor showing last week, my gt did pro will be out all week this week!

A lot of people dive into the race at the last minute, and so don't set a qualifier. While this may seem like it only means they start at the back, it also means they haven't warmed up, so missing braking points is easy to do. Throw in that the sprint down to turn 1 at Monza creates slip-stream, and you'll always see someone screw up their braking due to not realizing how fast they're going.

Not defending those racers, they should know better, but generally that's why turn 1 is a cluster-F.

Sorry. This has probably been asked and answered, but where is brake balance in the Daily Races? Is it considered a "tuning" thing and thus not allowed..??

Buenas carreras 👍🏻

Interestingly managed a 30.9 at RBR with three cars, mustang, amg merc and the wrx. Wex felt the safest, the merc felt the nicest and ill race with that to avoid the clear meta.

The Porsche felt great but couldn't get into the 30s and the supra was a 31.4. The mclaren confirmed my feelings on it after the bathurst time trial, I just cannot predict what the front end will do on this car, totally guessing.

FUN 🙃

Race C is more fun. Got pretty good races with the Corvette. Also tried the R8 and the 4C, but I just couldn't find a nice pace with them, especially at sector 3.

It's been a while since I last posted.

Anyway, I've been enjoying putting in some qualy laps for the Daily Races, and like many, I look for competitive cars other than the one filling the Top 10 list.

My thoughts for this week so far:

Gr4: The Bugatti put up a decent qualy time (for me) last week at Catalunya, so no surprise it goes well at Monza.
Just need to learn what not to do at the first chicane (or it might turn around on you), but after that it's a solid drive, and quick.
I've managed a 57.4 so it's fairly competitive, even in my hands.

Gr3: Many cars all similar pace, but notable drives are the 50:50 FR's like the Corvette and Aston.
My quickest time is in the Toyota FT-1, (29.5), and it's a reasonably safe drive.
A friend on my friends list (Chris) went for the BMW Z4 and has put in a 29.6.
I had to give it a go and was soon at the pace of my FT-1 time, and it seems likely I could better it.
But it's not just quick, it's also a super safe drive.
Good call from Chris, and would recommend people try the Z4.

Did 3 races at monza after the manufacturer races.

First 2 were a wreck fest. Started in the back on the first race and was still hit from behind went slightly off track and got a penalty. Like, wtf.

2nd race started p7 was hit from the back on T1 into the chicane and was reset. 🤬

3rd time was the charme. Started p3 after a long time on the loading screen with only 10 cars on track. Lost a position, got it back, recovered 5 seconds to the leaders and finished P2 a fraction of a second behind P1. This race was a lot of fun.

Next time I’ll try RBR.

I rarely ever do race a. so this doesn't bother me.

Race B & C are two of my favourite combos and I am really looking forward to it!

This week will probably be the week i play this game the most since the week it came out.

If you think your races are bad for shunts and bad drivers, think yourselves lucky your no in with cat d and c drivers like myself.
It's no better than racing with a and b drivers. I'd worked my way up to driver rating b only to be constantly shunted off the track at the chicanes by A driver's. Now I'm back to a C.

How do I toggle my ghost lap on and off, seen videos of guys doing this but I've no idea how to do it
On the home screen go to the very upper left-hand corner where you can click on it and I’ll have my page and options in that be on the Apex. Click on options, then select controllers and then controller one and then you can map out certain buttons. You also need to map out an overtake or nitrous button if you need to use it with a car. 🍻

I have to say the Indy race with the scirocco is a lot of fun, would love a new mini to run around on that circuit. Monza/Altenza apart from a few t1 pile ups is awesome, plenty of time to think about your breaking areas.

My first time playing sport mode.
Played 5 rounds of the Scirocco race so far and I always finished first.
SR seems to level up very quickly, already SR S.
DR is at D currently.
I'm lucky for starting at pole position tho..
First corner and nearly everyone ends up in the sand .
I really like that the car can't be tuned, I suck at tuning..

Im not a huge fan off the race a’s. I’m not very good at tuning and I don’t like wasting credits on buying a specific car and then upgrading it to use for one week.
If race a includes cars I like racing with then I probably will spend credits.
