Has anyone discussed how bad the Peugeot RCZ Gr3 is through Eau Rouge?
I discovered this yesterday. I went through it about half a dozen times wondering what on earth was happening. After a while I realized it was the car.

It is catastrophically bad through Eau Rouge. Like, terrible in a way I cant figure out. Is it a downforce thing with that car at that speed? Did they change some other settings when they added the 7kg to the bop in the recent patch? Because I swear it handles objectively worse than at Yamagiwa last week.

Its a shame, because I really liked the car, and have found it to be awful around Spa.

B this week is an SR killer. I did my first race there this week today, and got 2 penalties (neither of which were my fault). Been having generally good quality races in C, no contact penalties at all. The one race B took me from SR S to B. Worked my way back to A in race C, one bad race (a couple of mistakes on my part, nothing race ending but the big hits were not my fault) took be back to B. Managed to get back into A again and I'm leaving it there for this week.

I've also been seeing a lot of lobbies with SR S,A,B, and sadly I joined them this week with a drop to SR.A. I'm not even sure when it happened because I never pay attention, it's just always S. I think my drop was a cumulative effect of last week's le mans bump drafting and this weeks track penalties in both daily B and C. I suspect I'm not alone since I've been seeing more SR.As even when I'm SR.S.

So, no problem, I'll do a morning Spa where I always get in mixed B-A+ lobbies and start towards the back, making a clean run. No such luck! The lobby was kind of eeew; it felt like walking into a dive pub down a dark alley! (Hope that doesn't sound elitist, and no offense to anyone here but I've never seen a SR.C in the wild and there were a few here). I lifted at radillon, lifted on straights when someone was behind me and still finished P7. Didn't get the CRB, but the SR is back to S. I'll run a few clean runs this weekend to beef it up again.
Never seen an SR C in the wild … that’s good!

It does seem like the lobbies are more mixed recently. I’ve been trying to claw my way back to SR B from D (!). Currently at C/S and have been in A/B lobbies at Spa, with lots of non-S SR drivers.

I’m in the Americas btw.
Yep, been in a couple lobbies where there were literally two S SR rated drivers (and I was one of them). Usually that would freak me out but because of the LeMans race last week and SF23 race this week, I am a little less apprehensive about it. A lot of people took a big SR hit in the last two weeks.

What does suck is when there is a, say, B|C rated driver who is super fast... obviously an A+ or high A that is now a B simply because his SR got dropped taking the DR with it. So when he finishes ahead of me my DR takes a bit hit because of it. Oh well, first world problems and all that.

Finally got some free time this week so I decided to run some Race B's. Honestly some of the most chaotic, yet fun races I've done in a while. I decided to not set a qualifying time so I could start at the back and experience the carnage firsthand. Managed to win a race from 15th (out of 15) on the grid as well. I was able to take advantage of everyone shutting their brain off at T1 and got myself up to 6th prior to turn 3. Through the middle of the lap I was able to gain 4 more places, meaning that by the time I got to the final sector, I was up to 2nd, just over 3 seconds back from the leader. Was starting to reel him in but he spun on the exit of T3 on lap 2 so the rest of the race was essentially a time trial. Finished just over 10 seconds clear of second place.

Here's just a taste of the T1 carnage. 6 wide in SF cars usually doesn't work out. (I'm the black/red car to the far left of the image):

40+ people on my PSN friend list I've met through GTS / GT7

Only 2 have put qualifying times into Race B.

That is wild to me.

EDIT: and it's nearly the full week done!

Send me a friend request. My best time is 1:22.009 but my race pace, if I’m lucky is in the mid to high 1:23s.

Still pretty much the whole weekend ahead which i assume are the most popular days to play, but quali numbers are already decent at about 130k in total. Daily b a bit below average. Both a and c above average

I've been loving Race B this week. It's done a lot to help my rating on the EMEA side. Slowly but surely ranking up with a slew of podiums and top fives. Almost at half way through A.

Sure, I've been killed at T1 a few times (as @TechnoIsLove can attest) but for the most part things have gone well. No worse than literally any other sport mode race ever.

All that being said, I am a bit apprehensive to do this race on my primary account. I have, but there are so many A and B ranked drivers despite them being quite fast (likely many due to their SR being reset taking the DR with it) that it would be a helluva hit should I get punted and finish poorly. One race I was the only A+ driver starting P5 or something (my quali time on the #1 account is the worst of my three  ), somehow managed to survive the T1 melee, came out of it in P2 and finished there. P1 was a low A and despite beating a handful of As and Bs it was probably a DR wash.

Start at the back and avoid the the T1 madness 🤣
Ive not actually ran this race yet, but from what I’ve seen and read it sounds like a bit of a crazy race. I’ll set a lap later for Daily B.

I’ve been practicing on Daily A & Daily C TT with the Genesis G70 more as I feel like I’m going to use this in the manufactures. Amazing how just learning the gears in a car can knock a whole second of my lap time.

Yeah, it's easy to hate this week's race B. But people who don't like the car are just plain nuts! (I mean this in the nicest way... :) Yes, it takes a little getting used to, but as @nukewells_OG said, it's awesome to have a car that does what you tell it to do. (I'll admit I'm running with assists, though.) Took me forever to get it through my head that I can take T3 at full speed without the need to turn too early.

The thing that bothers me the most with this race is the harsh penalties I've received while doing nothing more than being in the middle of a bunch of people crashing into each other. Getting a 5 second penalty because people are idiots directly in front of me doesn't sit well. Also, I don't like taking an SR hit for the same thing.

I'm not exactly sure how PD could change this, so I'm not really complaining, but it does suck.

I think the race feels more like a go-kart race, except in really expensive go-karts. But like I said, it's still fun when it's not frustrating.

EDIT: This is a first for me. Went from B/S to B/B in 2 races. I think I'm changing my opinion on this race completely, because that sucks big time.

Anyone know what's gonna be strong on the mountain next week? Guessing the Alfa 4C and Ferrari but not sure what else as I don't race Gr4 much.

I've been trying real hard to compare what GT7 feels to me. After a few weeks, I finally have the perfect real-world comparison... Milk! Or more accurately, lactose-based products!

You see, I'm lactose intolerant so if I consume anything dairy related, anyone around me will soon start thinking about Chernobyl 🤣

Yet, as much as GT7 Sport Mode irritates and hurts me, I keep coming back to it. Just like I keep secretly buying sliced emmenthal cheese behind my wife's back!

When she asks about that "awful, recurring smell" in the evenings, I just pretend to either not notice it or blame the neighbours 🤣 GT7 is exactly the same - I should stay away from it but I would rather have an upset stomach then forget what good cheese tastes like!

Instead of the dairy, the online version is the crappy penalty system 🤣

That DNF is the major contributor to the quick drop.
I was busy all day and just jumped in to see where I stood on the B race QT so I realized I had my work cut out for me.
It must have taken at least 10 laps to give you another target 😂

You’re going to need to drop below 1:22 and regain a pole position or two before the week is over.
Good luck 🍀

I love this car! Hopefully some good racing tonight.

Someone mentioned earlier, after the recent physics change, the cars are just not fun to drive anymore. Both of the Ford GTs and the Corvette (GR3) in a straight line are slower. Spa is one of my favorite tracks, and I cannot find one car that feels "good" there.

The Supra being perceived to be the best choice based on top speed alone vs the ability of most to hang on to it over 8 laps with higher tire wear are different things though, and I’m seeing people move away from the Supra over the course of the week as they find “better” ways to cover the 8 laps
i found the supra to have pretty good tire wear. the 16 AMG seemed to eat tires, for how i drive anyway.

Haha, the thing with Sport mode is you can't really find anything else like it on PS for racing games. It's so pick up and play, and you'll be in a lobby of usually at least 14/15 other players roughly around your speed for a few laps of simulation-esque driving and some pretty wild racing.

Everything else you either have to mess around finding a lobby, deal with some pretty awful bugs, play a way more arcade experience or just deal with have 4 or 5 players in a race.

GT just about hits the sweet spot, and nothing else challenges it at the moment.

EDIT: this is, of course, until you meet people like this
