Not a lot to report today.
1 race C. Finished 4th.
3 race Bs. 16th :ouch:,3rd and 4th, so far. Stiil got my A/S
Still trying. 👍

At least I know that no one will catch my Mustang from behind.
I don't know what it is about this shade of blue, but I really love it.
It's called Sudseeblau, from Mercedes.

I feel good when I'm driving a livery that I like. :)

Had a couple of goes at Daytona last night. Couldn't get a consistent line through the bus stop all night though which lead to a fair bit of position swapping.

Race 1, I got bumped into turn 1 towards the end, which led to a pack of about 5 cars being right on my bumper. Got shuffled and roughed up through the infield and spat out into last place.

The second race had a long hang before the actual race start and only 8 cars actually made it to the track. Still managed to be a fun race though. Went as high as third and as low as last and back again throughout, finished 4th thanks to a last lap penalty.

I do wish if they're not going to put a pit in Race C at least have some time pass and the race run into darkness, it's all there to use, and was really fun when they started the daillies.

Now it seems they just don't bother.

Would give us something to look at doing 10 laps of the same track, a good portion of which is just sat on the throttle.

@nukewells_OG I'm sorry for bumping you in the braking zones at Daytona yesterday.
I was just lousy all day.
Hopefully, I didn't mess your race up too much.
If I see you out there again, I will try very hard to stay away. :guilty:
No problem, I managed to keep it on the track. That turn 1 mix of 458s braking and veyrons trying to brake is chaos. 🤣

That race was actually a blast, finally figured out the bus stop. Because of that, I went back to the primary account yesterday, which just seeds me with half or more A+...👎

Still had some fun races, it just changes the goal from podium to top 8.

Have driving standards deteriorated so much or is it just me? It's a serious question, just in case you're wondering.

I'm a consistent DR..B and SR..S but have, today, been demoted back to group C for parking up in the pits after being smashed and bashed into walls in Race B & C over the last few days by what are supposedly decent, considerate S rated drivers.... what a bloody joke!

The penalty system has to take huge blame too (actually, it's pathetic). If it's not bad enough that one is punted into a wall, you will virtually never be facing in the right direction to continue in a timeous manner and the penalty dished out is so punitive that it really isn't worth the time or effort to continue. And when hitting the said wall if you aren't lucky enough to bounce straight off, penalties continue to accumulate at a rate of 1.5 sec. And, as we all know, you don't just lose the actual penalty time. You can basically double it for actual time lost.

The other ridiculous thing is when some muppet goes off track or loses control... you continue on your path only to find the said muppet comes back and drives straight into the side of you.... then bounces off and goes off track. Penalty system says it's your fault = 5sec penalty. SERIOUSLY??????

Race B 2 days ago, I bump guy going into the hairpin on lap 1. No harm done but then both of us are immediately smashed by someone thinking they can win the race in the first turn. I manage to stay on track.., the other goes off to the wall. Quess what? I get a 5 sec penalty for forcing another driver off track.

AS you can tell, I am pretty pissed off with all this crap and Polyphony just do not seem to care or want to even get GT7 to be the game/sim that they claim it to be.

'The Real Driving Simulator'.......... what a joke Polyphony!

You are preaching the same rant that gets posted over and over.
Yes. Driving standards are low.

Hopefully you’ve taken the effort to review replays frequently as many times the wreckage is driver control vs intentionally crash into folks. It helps me at least a little bit knowing just how many dirty moves vs people making bad decisions in situations.

The only way I’ve found to do better in this environment is to drive a lot more defensive and anticipate what is developing in front and behind me.
I try to be best muppet driver I can and find satisfaction from reading what may happen around me and then getting clear of the chaos before I’m involved.

Also if a combination is killing me over and over I don’t just keep going at it and expect a different result.
Take a break and come back with a fresh start and you can sometimes stop the downward spiral. 🌀

.02 from a muppet 😜

So I can’t really comment too much on Daily Races as currently I’m just not enjoying the combos PD are giving us, so it’s rare that I race daily races, but the times I do race, I get mixed results. Some times I can have amazing clean fair races and then I can have some shocking races. But in general I do think driving standards though have deteriorated and this is in high DR B races

Last daily races I did was at Red Bull Ring in the Gr3s a few weeks back. In all the races I did, I’d say 60/40 split of good races vs bad races. In the bad races, Ive been completely taken out with punts, or bad rejoins from others and the worst at the minute is the push to pass (P2P). P2P for me is the dirtiest trick in the book and the most infuriating thing ever! Been punted off or the bad rejoins I can live with as these can be just genuine mistakes, but the P2P is a deliberate dirty tactic to me. Players who P2P have no skill in overtaking and just use others to make an overtake stick.

One thing I am finding though is the quality of racing in the GTWS has drastically dropped too. Last year in the official season I found the racing was great. Everyone was racing fair and 99% of the drivers I faced were taking it seriousl. This year through the Exhibition season and even now in the official season I’m finding people are way more dirtier this year.

Penalty system to weak at times and people know how to exploit the system, is the biggest issue.
Other could be that if you’re a PS5 player, that PS5 player base is getting bigger now the systems are more easily to get hold off. PS4 & PS5 player ran in separate lobbies for the daily races, but if the player base in now gravitates to PS5 that could contribute to quality of racing. (FYI I’m not saying PS4 drivers are dirty)

Did my first Daily Race since Monday but this time, decided to hop into Daytona. Set a decent time which had me start P12, with our very own @Nebuc72 next to me for company 🙂

What followed had me smiling and nervous and happy and excited... Non-stop, bumper to bumper, close and clean racing from start to finish, with a brief break in the intensity on laps 8 and 9.

Lots of overtakes, defending, getting passed and taking back places. It was great!

This race reminded me just why I love GT7, despite all the issues, uninspired choice in the dailies (sometimes), unpunished dirty drivers and everything else... When things go right, the game is amazing!

I only finished P10 but it's not the point, the racing from start to finish was what mattered 😁 And it was a real finish, snatching P10 just 0.01 ahead of the car behind 😅

Video quality is still a bit poo at time of posting here, should go up to 4k in around 30 min!

Tried Race A last night, but the lag made it pretty much unplayable. Cars were jumping all over the place, and ghosting. Had to quit after 3-4 laps. Pretty disappointing since I really enjoy the Miata+Tsukuba combo and only had free time for one race the whole day.

Tried Race A and Race C. While I am happy that the lag and disconnection issues are gone for me, there seems to be new micro-stutters or micro-lags. Not everyone might notice them.

Daytona has already suffered from stutters for a long time, when a lot of cars are near each other, and often when it is a demanding lighting condition. Those stutters seemed a bit worse. They made lap 1 tricky. However, it wasn't a big problem at Tsukuba due to the slow cars and less demand for quick moves.

lol that whole page within .002".
Yeah and I dropped 2 tenths on the final chicane. Gutted but also way above my ability so very happy.

I appreciate I'm a B or low A driver. The problem is that in the races people see different lines as gaps so dive for them.

But the reason I got my time is because I was racing those lines and not hug everything to death!

Ce la vie it's only a game :) and I can shave more off the time if I really want to but I'm bored and drunk now :)

Yea, late apexes are fun as people think you're going wide they can just dive in there. Kyoto has a ton of them.

Anyway, to being drunk and only sim driving!

That's what I'm experiencing too. Way better than the full off track shifts, but not "fixed" as PD tried to say it was.

2 races last night for me. Started in B at Maggiore, 8th on the grid. There was a bit of a mess into turn 1 early in the race that let me nip past a bunch of cars. Then it was a case of trying not to muck it up too badly...

just ahead after turn 1.jpeg

Managed that ok-ish. Lost 1 place to running wide on the exit of turn 5. Two wheels on the grass but managed to get it back on track. Then a bump into turn 6 on lap 7 lost me one more to leave me with a 6th place finish. I also claimed a CRB and a promotion to DR B, so pretty happy with that!

On to Daytona to celebrate and had a full lobby of B/S drivers, starting in 9th. A very nice and clean start to the race kept everyone very close. Managed to get knocked on the way into the bus stop, save it in the middle, and then punted into a full spin on the exit to end up last. Don't think the other guy had much of an option to avoid.

Fought back into a battle, then got rear ended on the way into the bus stop again (I'm beginning to not enjoy this corner!😆) More or less straight-lined it across the grass and somehow kept it straight, but with a nice big penalty, to stay roughly in the race and finally bought it home in 13th. Still DR B though! 😁

Managed to shave almost half a second off my qualy time for Daytona just now and was consistently lapping around that time for a few laps, almost went 0.4 faster too but binned the exit from the bus stop lol.

Still, hoping a 1:54:3 gets me starting a bit further up the field and get more in the fight for the top 5 if possible :)

* Update 1 *

Went even faster just now lol as I wait for the race to start 🥳

* Update 2 *

So I started in P3 and was happy to see this when compared to starting P12 yesterday. But of course, wasn't meant to be 🤣

15 seconds into the race, I get intentionally punted from behind, lose a place and get damage... A few corners later, I get swiped heading into the corner before the first straight and lose another position. Down to P5.

I catch up to the pack and on lap 3, I get a penalty for going past the limit on the exit of the bus stop. I checked after the race and I didn't... Anyway, down to P7 I go..

I then decide to put my "try-hard" hat on and keep my head in the game. P1 was already out of the picture but from P2 down to me, it was still all to play for.

Between avoiding other people's mistakes, getting hit a few times and slowed down by some cars, I cross the line in P4 with 3 cars less than a second from me. And P2 and P3 just ahead of me.

Was happy with myself for charging back up the field but annoyed at the unsportsmanship I had to endure...

I've never wanted a week to end more than this week. Race B and C are the dullest things known to man - 8 laps of a 44 second long lap is utter madness. It's a terrible combination.

C I can acknowledge liking but for the most part it's a bunch of tanks driving in an oval, with the only overtakes being when a Ferrari divebombs you because by this point the qualifying order is already in pace order. No strategy there at all makes for a dull race for me

I adore MX-5's at Tsukuba but unfortunately since PD gutted and killed Race A (still not over this decision) I'm just racing against B and C DR's all the time. Which isn't fun.

To be frank, what I know of next weeks don't seem great either. Neither Interlagos nor Nurb GP are tracks I am fond of. Race A is Trial Mountain (awesome!!) but it's Race A so it will be dead again.

I dont mind Brasil but NGP is a death-trap for DR and SR regardless if Gr4, Gr3 or even the VW Bus 🤣

Are you still running the Veyron at Daytona? Your comment makes it seems that way... Park that in the garage and hop into the 458!

Also @deviln3 you did nothing wrong, clean pass and sour grapes from his end!

Not really running it at all to be honest - the only race I've done was the one with you (and then one after in a 458 which was more successful lol)

Something about that combination doesn't click with me, I consider Daytona one of my strongest tracks but in a Gr.4 I feel like I'm just bumbling about.
I think I'm treating the car like it's faster than it is, so am not throwing it into places as much as I should be. Most of the times I've run Daytona is in an LMP or GTE car in iRacing so old habits die hard I suppose!

It is a wierd skill set I do not have for sure.

That no pit comment, I havent seen one in awhile, is that a thing? last bathurst had a "no need to box, but if you do, only take hards" odd.

Lovin the dynamic weather, agree coming out of dawn or something would be cool
