That's not what I've said. I'm not interested in that being the only available option hardly appealing to anyone not seriously into it.
I understand that GT7 should have more content for those who don't like to do the daily races.
But, people have a hard time with losing something that they've grown accustomed to.
Many people are following you on Twitter because of the daily race info that you provided.
Of course, you have no obligation to provide the info, but you should expect a bit of backlash.

It's a weird one because I really don't know. I think the majority prefer smashing the AI and the car thing over competitive racing.

I mean with the 10's of millions of copies sold you would kinda expect maybe a lot more to play online than do.
It's a bit of a misnomer. I know the single player group loves to throw it at us that only a handful of percent of players have achieved the online racing trophy, but from those same statistics only a small amount have ever completed the cafe menus which is the core progression system of the single player game so...

It suggests that of all their sales, not a whole lot really stuck with it in any mode.

I got the impression he was just correcting the reason, not addressing/concerning backlash.

I think you can anticipate backlash whilst still making a stance on why you dislike the direction the game has taken. I would certainly rather people know the real reason I stopped doing something rather than letting people boil it down to "he doesn't like the racing"

I imagine the vast vast vast majority just do a a few of the same races over and over again until they get bored and shelve it.

Just guessing but maybe a real skill/perception of ability plays in to it as well.

In the lower lobbies it's hard to tell the lower skill from the narcissists. There is definitely a barrier of skill to more enjoyable if not frustrating :) racing

Nobody should expect ANY backlash for giving people something they didn't even know they could have out of their own good will and effort.

The only downside is everyone has to practice on the same day.

Just want to be clear than being given insider information is a privilege not a right.

I'm not stating that there ought to be backlash, just that there will be some.

While we’re at it, I’d also prefer it if the new races dropped on a Saturday morning and not a Monday morning. For the majority of folks that have work or school, I can’t dedicate any time to races until the weekend, by which time I’m playing catch up with the meta and chasing folks that have been on it all week. Giving a wider access over the weekend initially would I think increase race participation and also add to the variety of vehicles used initially.

And I'm just stating that people shouldn't feel entitled to something they have put no blood, sweat, tears, money, effort in to.

I really really don't understand why there would be backlash. It just blows my mind to think that people use "followed on Twitter because you do something in your own time that benefits me" are angry lol

Make Race A ranked again. Also make Race A where it rotates through a combination of road cars and race cars.

Up the payouts in sport mode for race A and race C, and make the payouts based on a slide-scale using your SR as the barometer, as well as how well you finish. DR has no effect on scale of payouts so casuals won’t feel like they have to become real good players.

That’s how you bring SP people into sport mode. And if they want to play bumper cars, their SR will reflect it, as with their winnings. But if they want to learn race craft and strategy, their SR and payouts will reflect that also

I only wanted to know the races so I could make a livery for the road car (since I already have liveries for Gr.3 and Gr.4 cars).
You won't go far wrong making liveries for either the quirky stuff or all of the road cars ;) get ahead of the curve :P

More importantly (sorry) but for wheel users I'd double check that pedal calibration...

Increase the minimum input %.
I run between 3%-4% for both pedals. When they start to act up like that and I don’t have time to clean them out. Increasing the minimum input usually works as a quick fix. 🍻
Are you using a load cell brake?

Last race of the week and will be honest, had my niece's 3rd birthday party and as the "lively uncle" i had to represent when it came to who could drink the most whiskey without peeing their pants 🤣

Thankfully, I won and once home, wanted to have a final go at Daytona, but knowing I wasn't 100% mind frame, I hopped into my second account 🙂

Started P13 and managed to concentrate just enough to not make any silly mistakes or make contact with other drivers. Don't know why I lost my clean race bonus as didn't get a penalty or hit anyone..

Kept my cool and made up 4 places to finish this week on a positive note 🙂

I mean, three-year olds can't hold their liquor and have tiny bladders, so... not a shock.

I was on a business trip last week so missed the chaos of the lags and stutters (which explains why I found so few of you on my leaderboard) but I was able to jump on for some racing last night; first for quite a while..

Race A took a bit of QT for me to find the flow and jumped in not knowing how I would stack up against others. To my surprised I QT in 4th and had a good race to finish 2nd. My highest result for some time! Stoked to be sure but for me it was a one and done kind of race. No motivation to do it again.

Next was Race B. Spent an hour or so QTing different cars and thought I would settle on the Ford GT'18 but in the end I went with the meta (?) the Hurricane. Found that very drivable which was surprising and nimble in the corning without being tail happy in TCS1. Couldn't drive it in TCS0. I thought my QT was reasonable until I entered a race and found myself in 14th. Still my race was clean and I worked my way up to finish 9th. Acceptable considering the start. I then did some more QT and got myself into a 44.829 time which put me 7th on the start. Somewhere in the 2nd lap 5th and 6th took themselves out at the same time and I drove straight through the center of their mess to take 5th and that is where ended. Top 5, I was happy with that.

I actually like the short lap sprint in the Hurricane but wish it had more laps..

I took a look at race C but I don't think that one is for me so called it a night. Perhaps I'll get more racing next week but I can see GT becoming a winter time/bad weather event for me. In the summer there are too many other things to do than spend my time in the basement racing..

I have to run 10% min input on my my load cell as it glitches a permanent 2-3 % with up to 6% with no load. I need to take the pedals apart but haven't had time to do that recently.

Had a go at B & C last night.

Surprised to find my qualifying was 16th and dead last on B. I'm sure it wasn't that slow on Friday! Picked up places as everyone fought a bit too hard ahead and bought it home 12th with a CRB, so not too bad.

Got the bus stop at Daytona a bit more consistent, probably got through ok 7 out of 10 times. Had a good battle with a few guys though and got the timing and slipstream perfect to snatch 8th on the line by 0.03.

Just spent a good return to sport mode after a couple of weeks by thrashing that Ferrari around Trial Mountain. Love that combo. Such a good mix of throttle control, steering and then balancing the car over the crests.

Ran the first one from the back as I didn't set a time. Got caught in some carnage as people bounced back across the track but still got back to p4. Set a qualifying lap for the next one and it was a 3 star sweep after the closest guy made a mistake starting lap 2 and no one else got within sight. Next 2 were a bit boring as I just drove off. But great fun handling that thing.

Tip for anyone unsure, always be working the throttle except for the braking zones at the end of the back straight and into the chicane.

And for you drivers always pushing Q times as a challenge I'm sitting at a 2:12.6**. Knock it off and have fun slinging that car around.

Barely touched the game this last week or two, but this race will very likely have me playing as much as i can. Sounds like a really fun combo.

I mean with the 10's of millions of copies sold you would kinda expect maybe a lot more to play online than do.

But I don't know other than the daily leaderboards and TT counts.

Lobbies are pretty sparse to.

I think a lot if not most people don't buy this game for the racing per'se more for the cars and trying them out/smashing the AI.

That said the single player content is pretty dire and overtly obvious in forcing people to try cars/events out of their happy place. Menus and actual events. And that is the reason I started racing online again on console.
I think an age plays a big part in what you play too. Im just into my late 30s so my childhood was all about mega drives, N64, PS2… And obviously back then everything was offline games. Gran Turismo 3 was my first GT game and I loved the content. Would spend hours playing the game, and even did the Nordschleife 24 which took me about 7 days to complete and a PS2 that was left running for days. When PS3 came around with the online mode stuff I bought GT5 but never played it online as I just preferred the offline content. PS4 again I’d just play the solo stuff and I skipped GT Sport as when it was launched I was told it was heavily focused on online game play which at the time I still didn’t really like doing. GT7 was the first game that I’ve played online and is still the only game I play online. I play a few other games online but at most it’s only a few hours a week or less.
I think for me, been brough up in that era where offline was the normal is something that just carried over to today. I see a lot of the younger generation are the ones who religiously play online and don’t bother with the offline stuff on games.

If GT7 had the same grind like the older games did, I’d probably play offline more than I do online.

That's not what I've said. I'm not interested in that being the only available option hardly appealing to anyone not seriously into it.
Totally respect your decision in what you want to do. I appreciate everything you have done from launch with the game in giving us some sort of road map. 👍🏻

Summer vacation time for me this week, got no excuse not to FINALLY collector level up my secondary American account and do menu books until I unlock sport mode and lobbies. And then being able to races from the back on second account.

Maybe you had a wolf of wall street moment where you thought you drove amazing only to watch the replay and see you bounced off everything in sight.

We are around a similar age and for me it's totally opposite. The fact we didn't have online games growing up has me enjoying that now as much as possible, it's rare that I'll play a game without it being online. Simply because I missed out on that as a kid.

Wheras with single player modes I'm thinking why am I doing this again ... I did it years ago
