Remember when Road Atlanta dropped and the following week's C was the Miata Touring Car there? That was so much fun. I don't know why they can't do something like that at least once a month, if not every other week.
Yes that was actually a really fun race.
This is what I mean. Mix it up a bit. Gr3 & Gr4 on rotate gets boring. Then Gr2 and Gr1s only appear at certain tracks. I'm waiting for Gr1s at Spa, don't think that ever appeared has it?

If they are literally now just repeating sets of combos then we have to conclude that's it for Sport, it won't be getting any more attention or update.

It needed a huge refresh with new ideas but this basically says any chance of that is dead and this is the game now until support is ended.

With Spa appearing both in Gr3 and Gr4 format very recently, I'm holding it some kind of vain hope that it might be a different category or a random sports car instead...

Low expectations... At least Spa is fun

Only know the tracks thus far:

A - Grand Valley
B - Spa
C - Nurb GP

Boring! We had Grand Valley and Spa in the last few weeks. Why can't they vary the tracks a little bit more.

Chevy beat me to it. It's a little late for me usually but I made a couple of GTS. Great fun!

It won't be a different category if sat in Race B. The only times Gr2, Gr1 or SF have featured at Spa it has been in Race C.

I think the biggest change they need to make first is upping the field to 20 cars at least in Daily C.

To be fair the full game feels dead now. Offline mode doesn't get much attention either. They said that 24 hour event would return.

I wish it wasn't so, but I've begrudgingly come to accept that Sport Mode dailies are always going to be Gr.3/Gr.4 fests, because that's what the people who live in Sport Mode seem to want and like.
How could they know what we want or like? They've never asked!

But wouldn't that be fun? One race a week, or once a month, we get to vote on it? Yeah, I know, never gonna happen.

Or, similar to Wreckfest or GTA Online racing, an active rolling 'daily' where after every say 5 lap race, the lobby votes on the next track or track/car combo out of 3 options. Alongside the weekly set combos.

I don't know why I'm thinking of ideas.. they're not, lol.

Sad but True.
Cit. Metallica
Just to let out my 15years old week-end attitude :D

Starting in pole position and finishing 12th is downright humiliating. And it was all my fault. Ugh.
Don't I know it.

Had some better racing today in Race C. But mostly poor results because I push the softs for one lap too many every single time. I switched to the McLaren which seemed to be really good on tires so what do I do? I push for even one more lap in every race.

Just gotta appreciate the good moments when you can and luckily today had some of those.

I know I should get this, but I don't. I want to, though - explain? :dopey:

It's a kind of "famous" song by Metallica that another user just posted, when I was 15yr old I listened to a lot of Metallica and similar band :P

ps. should they create a Spa (Reverse) just to make something new next week? ahah :D

Out of curiosity, I did some BOP testing for the whenever-coming FIA season. Was with Ferrari last season, but if I’m serious about doing deceht in good lobbies, I need a better GR.3 car. I already did a BOP test of the GT3 458 vs the RSR at Interlagos with x1 fuel, and x4 tires at 10 laps with RM tires. I found that I was on average 4/10ths a lap quicker in the RSR, plus, my tires didn’t fall off the cliff at lap 8.

Did a Gr.4 comparison under the same conditions, and ohhhhhh boy….

I was on average 6-7/10ths a lap slower in the Cayman than I was the 458. Plus the tire wear on the cayman was only marginally better than the Ferrari. Usually the rule of thumb when you’re in a slower car/dirt bike/whatever…. you just become the last of the late brakers, and use the lack of power and handling to your advantage. Not the case with the Cayman! While it handles marginally better than the Ferrari, the brakes are only just as good - if not worse! I had to take the exact same braking points as the 458, with the caveat of me going slower!

The only other Manu I’m entertaining for next year is Mclaren, but I have a feeling one of the cars is going to get a nerf, plus I think a lot of people will go with them next season.

If PD do another official GTWS series in a few months time then, you’ll be locked in with the same manufacturer. They don’t allow switching of manufacturers which is why we not had any like exhibition season recently.

As for the 458 Gr3. I find the handling awful. Rear end is too unstable.
The Cayman Gr4…yep it is slow car. Only good thing about the Cayman is it’s a good fuel saving car.
This is why I’d like specific Gr. car races on Dailies. Give cars like the Cayman Gr4 and the Gr3 458 etc… some life on the game.

That totally sounds like something I'd do. :banghead:
Do you even Metallica, bro? \m/\m/

Ah, that explains it. Metallica was never one of my favorite bands. But bands from that era are what I grew up on, so at least there's that.

Ah that’s right, if it ends up being another official season, you’re locked in. That’s fine. Being that the Gr.3 458 has been my favorite car since GTS, I had the handling sorted. It was just the rear tire wear that would eat you alive. I had to be very creative with strategy to get results. That last FIA race at interlagos, the one where we had all 3 compounds of tires available for use, by RH’s were mandatory. Most everyone were splitting the baby at 15H and 15S. Not me, that strategy wasn’t even an option being that I couldn’t get the Softs to last past lap 10 before they fell off the cliff, and I couldn’t even get the RH tires to last 20 laps.

What I was able to figure through lots of testing however, was that I could get the Mediums to last 13 laps under aggressive driving, or 15 laps of tire saving driving. So my plan no matter where I qualified became to run the Racing Hards to lap 17, and when the second stint soft-runners started to come through the pack after they pitted on lap 15, I would be ducking off for my mediums.

All the variety of strategies in that race tended to converge right around lap 26-27. And typically, I was either fighting guys on very worn Softs, or wearing Hard tires - and neither could put up much of a fight against my mediums who were starting to come alive. I ended up getting podiums in all 3 races I did.

But I always had to cook up goofy strategies like that to get the Gr.3 Ferrari to work at these longer races. I had a blast testing all last season, but I think I’m looking for a little less drama next season. I’m almost fine with a slow gr.4 cayman, because at least I know I can stay on the optimal tire strategy, with me just having to mess with under/over-cutting to make up ground. The gr.3 911 RSR is just a peach.

Honestly, I just hope we get another FIA season this year. They’re so much fun!

Pretty much what’s happened to me every race this week. Only done 3 race B’s and each one has been a disaster. P9 has been my best finish.

The same guy has taken me out in 2 out of 3 races.

This afternoon was a treat! Have you ever had a race when it wasn't just about the result?

Started P12 at Road Atlanta with quite a few of the quicker players in there with me. Never had a chance for top placement but loved it either way!

It was a race where any mistake and you're done! Had to spend the first 3 laps anticipating what those around me will do, including hits! And then plan the reply as their move is about to start..

Finished P7 in the end, comfortably, but again, I was more pleased with my driving than the result 😁

UPDATE

Had 2 epic results tonight as well (see attached screenshots) 😁

This week at Atlanta started out well for me - I went from DR B at about 80% up to 93%. But the last two days it's been almost straight downhill.

(Most recent race is at the top):

The problem has been a combination of bad choices on my part, and people inexplicably doing bonehead things in front of me, which often results in 2-4 seconds of penalties, which is killer in this race.

I don't know if any of you remember my first week of racing on this track, but I absolutely hated it. But once I learned how to drive it, it's one of my favorites. I just wish I'd had better luck the last few days, but that doesn't diminish from how much fun this track is to drive.

What was the first Race B combo at Road ATL?

I think it’s the best track in the game. I just wish they would give us some more unique car options other than Gr4 machinery for Race B. I was out of town the week we had the spec Miata race. The recent week with the Radicals was okay, but the double shift thing is annoying and just about every race I ended up driving alone once the pointless pit stops happened and the field spread out.

The track translates well from GT7 to real life too. It’s extremely accurate in VR to real life. Where as Daytona is still very video gamey IMO.

Did you have to actually change tires, or just do a stop and go? Seemed like a lot of guys had really short pit stops on that race
