Hey guys, what should I have done here? As we came to the end of a lap at Atlanta, a guy rep-entered the track in front of me and was going slower (obviously), and I only had a couple of seconds to make a decision. I'm pretty sure what I did was rude at best, and dirty driving at worst. So what would you guys have done?

Can’t drive the Gr4 cars at all right now. Normally I’m very good round RA and especially in Gr4, but I just can’t seem to find any pace.
Have you messed with TCS? If you don't normally use it, sometimes turning it on 1 or 2 can help you get the feel back, then you can either leave it on or turn it off once you feel better about the track. And obviously, the right car for you makes a difference, but I suspect you already know that. :)

i originally made a alt account, so I could race different areas at their peak time. Then it became an FIA thing, being that my work schedule doesn’t allow me to do a full season on one account, but I can do 90% of the rounds spread out amongst my 3 different accounts.

I’m now going to make a 4th account with the sole purpose of being able to run daily races that I’m not comfortable with, without the risk of needlessly losing DR on my main accounts.

I would have done the same. He was on the opposite side of the track and immediately went right to block you! Not cool from his part.
You were going way to fast to stop just for him. He messed up. He should have stayed left.

Racing incident. He could have got off the racing line, and you could have went around him. But I’d say it was more his fault, than yours.

i agree with the above comments. racing incident or his fault.

Lots of bad players this week. Both race B and C are dirty.
It's horrible. I had one good race today. Props to those guys I was battling. Every other race out of seven ended with me pushed off.

I have the rest of the week off. When is the cleanest time to race? Otherwise I can't partake anymore, as much as I love it when Race C is at Red Bull Ring.

Maybe more partaking before partaking? 😁

The cleanest times I've found to drive are early in the morning. Assuming it's because people are either hungover (slow) or not drunk yet (clean-ish). Admittedly, it's a small window from 8 - 11 AM EDT.

May the driving gods smile upon you.

Tried a couple of races on Monday, couldnt cos of the server problems in EU servers.

Tried one tonight, got that weird bug where you are inside another car. Had to quit.

I love this game, but I just logged out to play other games that are years older and dont have these issues. (Dirt Rally 2.0, The Crew 2).

Casual gamers like me just dont have the time to fanny around hoping this game works...

Same here. My DR progression bar was at A 50% and now close to 10% or less because I keep losing positions and finishing between 9th and 16th at Road Atlanta. And I can't replicate my 1:25.495 QT with the 650S, I'm always way slower than that. I tried all cars (Jag included) and checked many replays. This is the best I can do.
Dunno what's wrong with me. I can't steer the 650S anymore. And if I take corners in a lower gear my ghost flies away.
I didn't change my controller settings.
Mistery.
Maybe I was drunk when I saved my best QT.
I’m on a 1.26.2 at the minute and I set that in the Genesis G70. Im trying to compare my time from the GTWS from the other month and a bit off. Not tried the McLaren yet so might have to set a lap in that and see where I stack up.
Tried a few other cars and the handling in them just feels off.

Maybe they're testing something out. Like they did with random rain and tires (outrage) on Spa.
Anyway BB was way more effective before, and in GT Sport. I can barely feel the difference now. It's more of a placebo effect imo.

I don't know if they also stopped changing the wind direction every time we close and restart the qualifying session. Looks like it's always 1.8 m/s North for Race B qualifying.
Not played GTSport but I know what you mean. BB does feel weak but I can tell I’m getting more understeer on corner entry.

They only add brake bias to Race C unless I'm mistaken?
Not played for a few months but Im sure I saw last week both races having BB? I know Daily B sometimes domestic have it, but Daily C doesn’t have it either too.

No I don’t touch the TC. I have it set to off. I’ll have a mess around with tomorrow but I think it’s more brake bias that messing me up with braking and corner entry speed.

Fair enough I'm just going off memory, I don't touch it on GT7 as it's not always there so it seems pointless to get used to it, may as well just adapt to the car as is.

It's was definitely available on some B races recently. I couldn't figure out if it helped or hurt me, so I quit messing with it, but it was definitely available.

I'll pop some melatonin tonight so I'm well rested for tomorrow morning. I'll certainly give it a go after my coffee. Late afternoon to early evening has been a big waste of time.

*And always partaking before partaking. I couldn't be so passive otherwise.

Best racing I've had is definitely morning. I get the chance usually Saturday and Sunday and it's often bliss. Even get up earlier to get more time in sometimes if I like the tracks

Even weekends, eh? I thought with the death of Saturday morning cartoons, it's be a wreckfest out there. Too bad there's F1 this weekend (I think). That's usually pretty early around these parts.

100% his fault in my opinion, he goes back to the track without caring about the race going on.
It's like "ehy there's a race right here"
"oh sorry I was trying to open a can of coke while driving" :P

I did a couple of races tonight at the red bull ring, middle of the pack results 8-10, I like this race cause is a fast track and I'm not having too much drama with the other users, but I've been lucky :D
Grantracker says that I'm only 500point from going back to D....at the edge

Been playing so much race b this week with alot of close races on oce servers. Goal is to see how far I can take the nsx shooting up through the b rating usually I'm low b but sitting healthy at the top after a few good finishes. Goal for the end of the week is to break into 1:24 qualifying time. I've been so close but screw up the last chicane everytime I nail the first two sectors

Some bad connections the last 2 days kicked off/ error message on daily c 6 times. Anyone else experiencing this

No complaints that I see except for he took the good line…or tried too!

I hope it's not a bad lead, lol. At Daytona so far it seems a mixed bag of drivers from mid-pack back. Get caught-up in it and you're pooched. If you can break free, though...ahhh to dream. The ONLY benefit to the delay between races is the 'coffee break' it affords...

Speaking of racing, was having a great go of it this afternoon. Got to run four races and landed a couple podiums. Had one blatant instance where I got used as someone else's enhanced cornering device and cast to the cows. That was neat. Closed that one out P8, so not terrible. Did manage to (re)graduate to A, not sure how I feel about that but we'll see how it goes. Was already railroaded into mostly A rooms anyway so I guess not much different. I just get weird when I hit 'A', like it suddenly matters and I hate focusing on Dr instead of driving.😁

Here's the weird one, though. Last race I ran, everything started normal. Everybody lined up and the cars left the line...but we weren't doing a ROLLING start today, folks. Nope, this one was a FLYING start. Maybe this is common but it's the first time I've experienced it and it was kinda cool and unsettling all at once. As the countdown starts, all cars are WOT and it's not slowing down. By the time the countdown finished we're blasting along @ 120+ and auto-drive finally lets go as we're entering T1...and I was P5! P1 was already at T2 by the time they were allowed to pilot themselves. L1 was fastest lap for the race at 1:17.XXX...😵

Anyway, had some great races with some great drivers and a couple dipsticks thrown about to keep it interesting.

Did you end up saving the replay? I somehow remember a glitch like this but not sure. We've had the invisible glitch, though I can't remember if that was GTS or GT7.

I wonder if it can be duplicated. Either way, I hope it gets to the devs.

Kicking myself in the ass for not remembering I wanted to save it until AFTER I exited the room...:banghead:

This has happened to me twice. Once at Grand Valley and once at Kyoto. It's a very strange bug. It also makes the race pointless as everyone is so far apart when the race starts.

It's interesting seeing the majority view on this, I'll have to try and take it onboard as looking at this I don't think it's unreasonable for him to get back on the racing line for the turn. There was no sudden movement or swerve and it seems you had enough time to react, it was very predictable and you can't expect to just hold throttle 100% regardless of what's happening in front of you.

Speed doesn't give you right of way.

However my view appears to be the minority, I thought it worth sharing for that reason.

It's not the worst thing to ever happen anyway but could have been a bigger incident on another day.**

**EDIT on rewatch I can see what happened in rear view. Ooh I'm not sure dude, I don't think this is a good move. As above others disagree so hey, take it for whatever you think it's worth but I would have felt an apology was owed there.

100% he should have yielded after going slow and possibly dirty tires. He does not get the racing line when you are coming full speed after his problem. Very similar to an incident I had yesterday with same result, as you can see below (I think it's end of lap 4)

Not played for a few months but Im sure I saw last week both races having BB?
It's been on for the past few weeks in B and C but because the whole selection of races is an exact copy of what we had a few months ago, the BB settings are the same as what we had back then (they're off)

I can't believe I never thought of this! So many years of FIA races written off because I work nights... Never once occurred to me I could just set up a backup which has race times that favour my schedule. Damnit!
