Forgive the newbie question - but where can I buy an F40? Or is it a case of renting it for anyone who does not have it already?

I cant see it in the Ferrari dealer or Hegarty's or the UCD.

Anyway, good to see both manuals are up to date...
GB has three 20 grid races, US has just one 20 grid race.
Scrolling past I thought these were the daillies. My excitement! HSR! Daytona Oval!

Oh well. Actually it's two tracks I dislike and we had Spa Gr 3 a week or so ago? Not a great choice for me.

Kinda sad to see Road Atlanta go...never got my 24 but know it's there for next round. Whittled it down to a 1:25.225 in the end which kept me P6 or better in low-A lobbies. An amazing difference in outcomes between Saturday and Sunday...

Saturday: <Censored> Really, though, complete mess. Started great with a P3 finish on my first outting and that was the last good finish I would see that day. Abysmal. Equal parts me and the Mario Kart crowd and just didn't work out. Not sure how I kept my 'A' ranking through a string of P8 - 13 finishes.

Sunday: Much, much better experience. Stellar, actually. Ran for several hours and the worst finish I saw was P6. Amazing racing going on and was a straight adrenaline mainline the whole way through. Was able to build a bit of a cushion between me and the edge of a downgrade and overall just enjoyed the track and everyone on it. Very good day.

End of the week, though, and this still sums up my RA experience pretty well. Luckily, I'm the Jag facing the proper direction...this time. :D

The F40 is hard to drive. Guess I am used to Gr.4 and Gr.3 cars mostly and higher downforce Gr.2. I kind of suck at road cars. I kind of wish that race A was actually a time trial. That would motivate me to put the effort into learning this car. As it is, as it is a non DR/SR race I'm not sure I'll spend the time figuring out how to drive it.

So far, this morning, it was "virtually expensive" as I wrote off several F40s by driving/spinning them into walls...

I thought it was too good to be true at Race C - myself and P1 and P2, 12 seconds clear of the rest of the pack - then we all noticed we had bugger all fuel with 2 laps to go.😂 Ended up 7th, which likely wasn't too bad.

Next race I used the WRX and probably saved too much fuel, finished 3 seconds off the lead car, who ran out of fuel at the last corner , while I still had half a lap left in the tank.

Would I prefer this weeks race B (or C) to be the Nurb' 24H circuit? Sure. Am I hatin' on it being Spa (again)? Hmmmmm....guess that remains to be seen. Looking forward to it if only because, while the Gr. 4's were a LOT of fun at Spa, they lack pace. That shouldn't be an issue now. 😁

Race A should be fun because road-car. Hopefully it doesn't turn into 'Death Valley Wreckfest'...doubtful but here's to hoping!

Race C appears to be a 'fuelie' run...and I have enough trouble just driving. Paying attention to fuel consumption AND driving ain't gonna work. Also, not a fan of the GP circuit if only because the whole time I'm running it I'm like "But the FUN part is right over there...I can SEE it!" Will take a swing so I can start to learn but, yeah...looks like imma be besties with 'B' this week.

The parents must be so proud :sly:

I wonder where he'll put his 7th place trophy.

Very important you know.

And that is the problem with taking the racing line :( it invites such stupid moves and if they really understood racing they would realise the faster racing line over their dive bomb.

And I say this tongue in cheek but assists really do flatter and alter some of the reality people play in.

I can understand or am at peace with the clutch run you wide or pit manoeuvre you types but the last of the late braker drivers breaks me.

The later and more panicked you are braking the worse your driving style.

I mean the sensible thing is to lift, brake slightly "oh to early, I'll stop braking for a bit, then apply more and now lift off to turn" isn't in those players thinking sadly.

Anyone know what’s happened to the oil now in this game?
So last time I really played the game and did daily races the oil wasn’t an issue and it only needed changing in single player mode. Last week I ran loads of RBR back to back and it wasn’t until I went to my garage I noticed the oil was on red saying worn.

Is oil now a factor in Daily races? Not playing this week as the combo not my thing so can’t really test it.

The oil does wear but the effects are only seen in single player. when you join a daily it sets it to normal for that race.

Well, I didn't get any racing in last week (unless you count going way too fast on a sport bike in the Black Hills) so I've gone from Gr 4 on Spa to Gr 3 on Spa. Braking points aren't very different, so it's feeling comfortable right away.

Back up to A after a P3 and P2 finish, but the first race in A was going horribly and I decided to take a break.

I think I'll like the next few days of Spa though!

What the heck, PD? I only have to wait 5 minutes for the next race to start at Spa? Did someone fall into a vat of common-sense, or something?

Something has definitely changed with regards to oil - I totally agree.

How do we know this? The reason I ask is that it makes too much sense, so I'm thinking it has to be wrong. :D

 I'm going off 1) what others have mentioned in this thread and 2) how it doesn't affect race speed in Sport races. When the game launched and oil was affected online it was very noticeable very quickly and needed changing regularly.

Because we have renta cars and bop.

Bop is to equal performance and renta cars level the settings for online.

Oil wears faster in sp but has zero baring in bop races because they just put your livery on to a garage car essentially

Yeah I saw someone else said elsewhere it doesn’t effect daily race. What I find odd though is… if it doesn’t effect daily races why is wearing and deteriorating?
I wonder how many people doing daily races are going blow an engine for not checking and changing the oil as they are unaware it now affects the car? Might test it out one week and see how long I can run a car on worn oil.

What would be nice is a function in the garage screen that lets you know which cars need an oil change. Maybe a small warning triangle or a pop-up that says "These cars need an oil change:"
